Give me a situation, a real game situation where I would use MoG. I'll plan around it. Yes, I'll use inspirations often time, but who cares because that's part of our powers as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's an impossible hurdle to overcome. The regeneration set plus the proper combination of inspirations is essentially invulnerable.

Its so impossible a hurdle to overcome, its not even restricted to the regeneration set. When my dark armor needs it, she *buys* Elude from the nearest contact, and solos EBs basically with just mez protection. So do my blasters. The fact that every power including Elude can be trivialized with inspirations makes the argument worthless to me.

Or, prove me wrong: find a situation where an SR scrapper would use Elude, where I could not avoid using Elude by preparing in advance with inspirations. Or find a situation where you would use unstoppable, that I couldn't eliminate the need for it with suitable inspirations.

In fact, the only scrapper tier 9 you can't actually replicate with inspirations in full is Soul Transfer.

[/ QUOTE ]the last statment is untrue, but only becuse there is no insperation that turns off your ability to regen or be healed.
  2. there is niether, the only protection is healing.

healing is a form of protection that deals with damage retroactivly and thus is the only one that ever had any usfullness against hammy.

You know that whatever you say I can give you a way to do it better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mostly, by claiming regen scrappers can always keep enough lucks around to substitute for MoG. But the level of lucks required to do that, if SR scrappers and Invuln scrappers kept them also, would largely eliminate the usefulness of Elude and Unstoppable as well.

[/ QUOTE ]well regen scrappers at least do not realy need greens or blues, and no scraper realy has much use for mez protection,,+acc or +damage.+res is nicer then it used to be,but it is still pretty much blown away by lucks.

my sr scrapper in contrast can still get much use out of greens, blues and +res.,though to some exstent i am inclined to agree about not needing elude since one luck can pretty much cap me when i run my sloted combat jump.

No one really gets psi protection.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess no one includes: Stone Armor, SR, Dark Armor, Dark Miasma, Empathy, Regen (out of MoG), Force Field

    [ QUOTE ]
And lol NO ONE can resist Hami damage so seeing it on your list makes me believe you are really reaching for negative things about MoG.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Regens can protect against Hami. Not as well as in the old days, but healing is protection. MoG doesn't allow that.

    [ QUOTE ]
And all because you haven't learned how to deal with it to your advantage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because there is none. You say I can't find a use for MoG, but you can't either. You know that whatever you say I can give you a way to do it better. Your ego is hurt because in your heart you fear that we are right and you use MoG as a crutch. And a poor one at that.

You keep using your crutch, and I'll keep responding to opinions with facts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

1 For Psi protection on a stone tank, minerals will be the best suited to take Psi, but still no direct protection is offered by any you mentioned. They just don't have the hole that MoG does.

2 And Regens have no protection from Hami damage. It is a damage type of its own that is not resisted by anything or anyone. And trying to say that healing is hami protection is ludicrous at best.

And you don't have any facts in there anywhere that I can see, unless you count untrue statements. Especially the part where you say "and you can't either" because you don't know how well I use MoG and you're bitter that I've learned how to use it and you poo poo on it every chance you get. I'll still hold that it is a truly heroic power for those experienced enough to use it correctly. You have proven you are not one of those. Let it be, let it go. I'm ok with you not liking it.

[/ QUOTE ]as for 1,what the heck are you talking about?all those sets do have a direct protection psi.either psi alone is covered or they have a blanket protection.you can not say they do not count BECUSE they are there.what sort of dubble think is that?

as for number 2,you can only say regen has no protection to hammy damage if you say that regen has no protection to ANY damage.i still remember tanking hammy with that protection that you say i never had.

so who is making the ludicrous statments again?

MoG is a fantastic power, even the way it is now. Despite limitations as described above, if you have any trouble with PvE as a regen then the problem is with you and your tactics, not the powerset.

    Epistropheus 50 DM/Regen

    [/ QUOTE ]

Prove it. Give me any situation, you would use MoG in and I'll show you a way to do it safer. Because in fact, if you're using MoG to save yourself it's probably your tactics that are deficient.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"prove it" has been one of your most common comebacks to people who like MoG, and I know that you've been looking for instruction in how to use MoG but you've either not listened or not learned.

Still, I'm not going to teach you yet again because I believe you don't want to hear from mog sympathizers.

Also, the list you had of villain groups that will affect MoG also affect other AT's that don't have MoG available to them. No one really gets psi protection. And lol NO ONE can resist Hami damage so seeing it on your list makes me believe you are really reaching for negative things about MoG. And all because you haven't learned how to deal with it to your advantage. It will always be sour grapes to you.

But, I will give you credit for finally omitting the false claim that MoG goes against the regen set.

[/ QUOTE ]e.g. has provided his reasoning in a guide,to dispute it and yet make no effort to refute it is just the presentation of emotion without reason.sorry but prove it is the only just response.

but then again you are not jumping to the defence of a fellow forum poster are you?you are entering the fray with your arch-nemisis and the battle field is moment of glory.

pardon me if i do not break into tears becuse you have chosen not to "teach" us how to use the power.i am fairly sure at this point that you have nothing to offer.

the refute to the claim that no one gets psi protection is already in(if incomplete).and well no one else has hamidon protection,no one else has to deal with his damage at a fourth of there life with no way to recover health.

and the claim that as a protective power mog goes against a set that deals with damage by healing it better then any other.still seems as valid as ever when it eliminates all health recivery all together, somthing no other set ever has to put up with from there powers.saying that it recovers end is rubish when that end will not ba able to provide you any protection whatsoever.

Stealth will provide -perception and 1.875% defense**. With 3* SO DefBuf: 2.9%. The defense**
is twice that when not attacking, being attacked or clicking an object (Blasters 1.75%,
    Controller/Mastermind 2.25%, Tanker/Defender: 2.5%, Others: 2.125%)

    [/ QUOTE ]

The phrasing on this bit confused me. Is Stealth with 3 SO's providing a defbuff of 2.9% during combat & glowie clicking, and 5.8% during movement?

Thanks for all the figuring you've put into this guide!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its apparently 3.75% defense unslotted, 5.85% defense 3-slotted, but half of that suppresses when stealth suppresses (when you attack, or are hit by an attack).

    So, yes.

[/ QUOTE ]how long does it take for stealth to return to unsupressed status after you hit or are hit?

MoG is a good power, learn to use it and you will do well, if you cant use it you just not skilled enough
But im not saying it couldnt use a little help, maybe just not so much of a hp hit and id really happy with it

[/ QUOTE ]mog is a crapy power, learn to avoid it and you will do well.

skip it and get a power that will provide you with consistent benifit.

for the incredably rare times when limited defence would be a better choice then EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME make sure that you have a suply of lucks handy.

Regen is soooo complete, its by far the best secondary of all the secondaries and you ppl thinking they are going to buff it are INSANE. First they will upgrade dark then MAYBE invul, itll be 5+ issues before regen is even given ANYTHING usefull and that really wont be that usefull, maybe some tiny amount of extra resist

    SO GET OVER IT NOOBS

  12. hm i think gm's should be made imune to tp foe,or else make it so they can not be ported into a certen range of the hammy zone.

does anyone ever use tp foe on monsters for anything other then griefing?is it realy more efective then snipe pulling them?

Allegedly, there was a patch note that may have had some indication of impact with regard to Aggro rules but I haven't been able to locate it.

I believe you are looking for this:

    [ QUOTE ]
    Powers - Critters

    * AVs/Heroes and Giant Monsters now ignore threat level damage multipliers for different Archetypes. They are still affected by Taunt as before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks.
So now I have to ask is: What the hell does that mean besides now I need to use taunt frequently? "Threat Level Damage Multipliers" is not good layman speak. Non-developer translation required. What is the reasoning?

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Threat rating" is apparently a scale factor applied by AT and/or mob type to determine how much hostile mobs "hate" a given target. It seems to apply to their innate nature to target you out of a crowd as well as how they reprioritize things when attacked. For example, controller pets have long posessed a high threat rating, meaning foes will choose them over the controller until the controller does something that makes them really, really want to kill him instead. Apparently there is a pecking order among the ATs as well, with Tankers and the offensive ATs marked as "higher threat" than the other "supporting" ones.

When I saw this patch note on test (and thought I understood it) Hami raid PA drops was the very first thing that came to mind. Mitos target the PAs because they have a high threat rating. If Mitos are now ignoring threat rating, they will probably prioritize what appears to be randomly, until attacked. Then they will go after what hurt them most (or possibly most recently), without regard to what other targets happen to be in range.

[/ QUOTE ]so do pa's just rely on this, or do they have a built in taunt/gauntlet ability?becuse this is a huge change to hammy raids if pa's are not taking any more agro then a player.

  16. hey eg,i have seen you in the chat channel a few times.each time though you do not respond.do you have a new toon without the lounge in the chat options by chance?
  17. seems like if they just made it so that it is not based on health at all and is just selfcontained in the power they might be able to compensate stalkers a bit better for there lower hitpoints, then again maybe that is working as intended now.

if it somehow ment we could get ih back as a click i could dig it,i would like a set that is a bit more fire and forget as apossed to click hell.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
    Few questions have I. Others have probably asked, but until I have time to search all the way through;

Do these defense scalings affect monsters as well players? If so, there are several things that need to be 'tweaked' to be more defeatable.

Hamidon - Major defense versus everything, hard to imagine it's hide being even tougher.

Tank type AVs (Infernal, Brawler, Siege, Shadowhunter, Diabolique, etc.)

Many of the 'boss' type critters with already strong defenses like; Trolls, Frostfire, Pumicites, Vaz, Tsoo, Skyraiders, Malta, Devoured Earth, and Carnival of Souls.

Pets (like the guns Malta Engineers drop), as well as cairns, and swarms.

Simple solution is this, the higher the defense, the less health they require. High Health (hundreds of thousands) + Uncapped Defense = ugly problems.

The toughest part is not in attacking, but maintaining the attack long enough to wittle them down. If their defense is even higher (and many scrappers damage is way down) team wipes could be far more numerous.

Just want to be prepared in either way. Thanks in advance for your help.

[/ QUOTE ]hamidon does not have much defece at all.it is very easy to hit him.however he takes next to no damage from pretty much anything.he also has a butload of health and a scary regen rate.

i dont imagine this will change hammy all that much.
