What did you use on the arms for the chain mail effect?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That looks like skintight, fishnet patern, dark grey over light grey.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, geez! I completely forgot about fishnet pattern.

Did a little bit o' searchin'. I knew I had seen it somewhere.

    Powerforge's thread.

I'm impressed by his avatar. LoL. The movement is subtle, but enough to catch your eye. How'd he do that?
  5. Can saved costumes be moved from PC to Mac and vice versa?
  6. I especially like the ninjax piece.
  7. Makes me wonder if that's some strategic blurring. Still looks very nice. I haven't seen anyone around here who does that type of work.

    Red Royal art

Very nice! I hope to see more soon.
  9. The link for Beefcake's Guide to Day Jobs and Badges doesn't work.

I know there are a great deal of artists around these parts, so if anyone wants to know anything about my process, please feel free to ask. I know I have a few questions for some of you.

Since you mentioned it, how do you do costume details with intricate patterns, like celtic designs and whatnot? Are the just (amazingly!) hand drawn or inserted digitally?

Will existing CoH players be able to use the same account login or will it require a brand new account set up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same accounts, same servers, same characters.

Also, will there be an "upgrade" price for the Mac version?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, according to Positron's post, there will be a free downloadable version for Mac. It just won't come with the extra powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Drat! I suppose I could wait until '09.

No we're not--you're just imagining it.

In fact, this isn't even really here.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dammit. I knew a should've splurged for the more expensive mushrooms...

  15. That's fine with me. Is two weeks too long?
  16. Nice one, Slick! Was "Airwolf" taken?
  17. Given how few entries there was this time, I feel kind of awkward passing out medals to three out of the five of you. Plus, my critiques this round are minimal, at best. :/ Was it just this palette? Anyway, here goes...

    Hott Chocolatte –
If this costume has a weakness, it’s those shoulder spikes. As a visual concept, I see no reason to have them. The rest of the costume works well with contrasting colors and visual patterns. I’d go a little darker with the hair for even greater contrast against the skin.

    Ovia Cakoria –
It’s a chocolate goat lady! Here’s another costume that works using contrasting colors and patterns. Is that skin under the vest? If so, what would the swirl on the chest be – a tattoo?

    Golden Ore –
Here’s a clever concept. He looks like a metallic punk rocker in a biker gang. The rock armor is a natural with this color palette (and it looks like chunky chocolate). Given the metallic chest pattern, is he made of gold with a gooey chocolatey center?

    Captain Hazmat –
It’s tough for me to make out the finer details of this costume due to the size of the image and the distance of the “camera”. And from this distance, there’s not a lot of contrast. He looks a tad muddy (no pun intended). However, I like the overall look of the helmet. I might just have to steal it.

    Pointy Stick Avenger –
He looks like he could be a part of G.I.Joe. Good use of costume pieces and colors. Which pieces did you use for the arms? Did you consider using a single solid color on the boots?

Class uses periods, id uses hashmarks.

    So for instance:
    p.stuff = <p class=stuff>
    p#stuff = <p id=stuff>

    [/ QUOTE ]

That, I already knew. Which is why I only use id's for specific sections of the page (header, navigation, content, sidebar, etc.).

I'll see if uncommenting helps. Eventually, I plan on creating an external stylesheet and linking all the pages to it. Maybe now's a good time to implement it.
  19. Really?
I could've sworn it's applied styles to the contents every time I've used an id.
  20. Well, at least the page isn't aligned to the far right...

It still isn't centered as I had planned it to be.
  21. I'll give that a shot. Thanks, Slick!

Just an update: the medals have been forged, and the new palette is ready. Go batty!
  22. I'll try that tonight. Maybe I'll switch it over to XHTML, too.

(Is there some reason why the images are all the way to the far right in IE?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes, there is: IE sucks.

    So does my HTML fu.

Edit: Ugh. Looks like all the pages are messed up in IE. Bleh.
  24. The Chocolates gallery is up. Critique to come...
