  1. OK I think there is something wrong.

    I just did the Sharkshead levels.

    Got all 3 contacts.

    I hit 25.

    One let me finish the arc I was on then dropped me. Will not give me another contact.

    One just dropped me. I know he leads to other contacts because I have spoken to them and they tell me If I want to work for them I need to talk to Lorenzo,

    One intoduced me to a New Contact and let me do one more mission.

    I just feel like I am missing out on CONTENT. You know people are always saying they want more content. I also think I might be missing out on Badges.

Also, before everyone says there is another crying tank, ED is fine, no problems with it what so ever. I5 is the real culprit here. ED would have served the devs needs for weakinging tanks all by itself. Both I5 and ED were to much, now, we aren't super anymore. We are bouncers. And States, next time you come in to let us know your working on something to figure why we are all on the boards throwing a fit, please, keep the tanker mentality in mind. We don't go after what we can take, its not our jobs, we go after what everyone else is afraid of.

  3. If Jack is appearing in your town on his CoV tour, show up and bring him some wet noodles.

    If you cant do that then start mailing him Raman with a note that says Instant Tank --- Just add water.

    Getting 1000s of packages of Raman noddles in the mail will probably do more than [censored] onthe forums.

    They did a similar campaign here in Texas were they sent the state legislature panties to protest a new tax. It proved very effective.

    My frustration isn't directed at you, per se, but at the fact that fixing bugs should be pretty black & white: if it's a known bug, fix it. But there seems to be some stalling here. They are concerned that MM's would be too powerful if the enh's affected the upgraded powers. This seems intentional. Why test the fix at all if it's a genuine bug in the game?

    You know that "beta" thing? Up until the last week or so the assumption from everybody was that enahancements were affecting upgraded powers. That means all the mastermind balancing and analysis up until the last week of October was done using faulty information. I think that's a good reason to test it first, don't you?

    Actually that isnt the case. Looking back, this was brought up many times. The problem was never by one the math people. They never quantified what they were tryng to say and others would chime in that you were supposed to be weaker because your minions went in level. The idea that there was anything wrong was poo-poo'd

    Many of us were saying we were too weak. When the bug was exposed it explained why.
  5. The thing that gets me about Jack's post is that he choose the target based on what damage his build could take.

    Now when I was a tank, I would go after what was going to do the most damage to the team or what was strategically the most important to take out.

    SO from now on I will tell my teams --- if I ever log into my tank again -- I can only tank X because Jack has designed me that way.

    But what is supposed to be our power level? Once again there is some vague "vision" or design concept.

    Should I be able to 3-shot a yellow? Would that be 3 shots from any minion or 3 volleys from all of them. Should all the minion classes be equal? If Zombies become over powered will Mercs and Bots have to suffer nerfing as well?

    Maybe the devs can tell us where they want us to be and we can give feedback on if we are above or below that line

    I totally agree. The caps serve no purpose. Its like Jack or somebody got it into their that X villain group should only be fought at X level. Like there are no Lost over level 30 or something.

    It just makes no sense. Not from a playability standpoint or even from a content standpoint.

    I shouldnt have to LOWER myself for content. The content needs to RAISE itself to my level. There should be no caps.

    i could never figure this out. I dont think the system atkes the pet damage into account for the comabt screen at all. I've always just had to use the over head numbers

    I seriuosly doubt that. I think in yalls attempt to to make sure we werent "over powered" we might have ended up too weak.

    What would be helpful is if you could give MMs a level bump on test. Until we get the level 32 upgrades and slot the powers, we wont really be able to judge IMO.

    You cant really base anything off a level 12 fighting Mooks.

    Anyway, thanks for the post. I hope this makes it out soon because I cant PVP.

    I think this will carry thru the entire game. I hit finished all of my Cap missions that I could get at 21. Did a team and hit 22. Moved on to Sharkshead.

    Just doing the 9 paper missions and 3 heists, setting to villainous and doing the minimum to complete the mission, I still came 1/2 a bubble from 23 before even starting the contacts.

    I dont know the level restrictions on these mission but I can see how it would be easy to outlevel these too if playing teamed.

    Now the idea of the paper missions is OK. It moves all the pointless filler crap from the contacts to the paper. But maybe its just one of those ideas that is good on paper and in theory but doesnt work well in real life.

    Maybe the entire concept needs a retool. Maybe give you a contact for each paper mission completed. Insteasd of leading to contacts the paper is just use when you have nothing else going on or prefer to fight a specific villain group.

    While I'd love more higher level stuff, the fact is that the lower level game lasts 2-4 hours, per character, not 2-4 hours. For someone with 50 characters thats 100-200 hours total. For someone like me, with over 100 total characters (in CoH), thats 200-400 hours, more time than I've spent in any other level range (except possibly the level 50 crash zone). In CoH, it's bearable. In CoV, doing the same missions over and over... I'd like at least a bit more variety. Besides, it's not like it'll take that much work to pull off.

  13. I still can not grasp why we ever OUT LEVEL anything. From my POV there is no difference from fighting Mooks at level 12 than fighting them at Level 16. I dont think we should ever outlevel anything. The missions should just scale to our level.

    Here is something I experienced in Beta and now in Live. I was doing BRass missions. Turned 20. He introduces me to Operative Wellman. Except Wellman wont give me missions. Fine. Turn 21. Wellman still wont give me missions. Fine. Think ok I m still not high enough. Turn 22 and he gives me the complete brush off.

    I think I either needed to be introduced much earlier or the text from the contacts needs to be clearer as to why they arent giving missions.

    I missed everything in Oakes. Did the paper missions in Cap and all three contacts I got were outleveled.

    My suggestion for Cov and COH is to remove the outleveling nonsense completely. The exemplor method is really a joke. Unless you have an SG and have a member with an ALT that is leveling up, its nearly impossible to team with lowbies. In CoH, I missed a crucial mission in Peregrine. I spent 2 hours standing next to Tina bugging everyone who walked up to her.

    Aside from the difficulty in finding a lowbie team, Your constant RESPECS have made being exemplored a nightmare because if you dont choose powers in "the right order" you can be f'd when you go down in level. Case in point. After one respec on a toon, I choose all my pool powers last. If I dip down past the 30's I no longer have a travel power

    In the beta it took 5 newspaper missions to fill the broker bar. It was dropped to 3 when it went live.

    it did seem faster. Any way point still stands that you should do the Paper missions as quickly as possible to get the real contact. 9 missions is still enough to level.

    I missed all the Port Oakes content looking back. The Mooks thing and I remember something about ghosts or Pirate ghosts.

    I had to turn down teams yesterday so I wouldnt outlevel my current contacts. I joined a strike force though and afterward Golden Roller no longer wants any thing to do with me.
  15. Here is a trick I use...since it takes 15 paper missions to get all 3 contacts.

    DO NOT TEAM for paper missions

    Set to Villanous

    Always choose KILL X and guards. Run directly to Boss and kill him and henchman. Many times you will luck out and only have to kill 2-4 people.

    That way you can use real contact missions for XP. Once you start an arc, they usually let you finsish even if you out level them.

    Once again, I feel like I am playing a different game. More often than not in CoH, I run out of contacts. I may choose to skip some because I know they offer nothing as far as badges or rewards. Maybe its different at the lower levels now since people dont seem to go outside the hollows and can miss most of the pre-12 content.

    The only issue I have in CoH is outleveling Task Forces

    It is VERY easy in CoV to outlevel contacts. I didnt even get to do Mongoose. I went straight from Kalinda to the Radio.

    I have never understood WHY we out-level anything. Why cant the missions just scale up to our current level? Fighting a level 14 Mook is no different that fighting a level 16 one

    hmmmm... facts and fugures would be nice....

    "to some degree" could be taken to mean there is a system of diminishing returns....you are fine with 2 buffs but when you get to 3 you start getting moderatkly penalized...at 4 you are severly penalized....maybe there is defense buff diversification...

    You have to be kidding. Paragon is now a ghost town. My friends list is permantly gray.

    Sorry but my Tank still hates I5. The Devs had well over a year to make the tanks "work as intended" and these new changes just seem pulled out of their butts. A few inspirations are not going to cut it. Many of us still feel betrayed.

    i would stop missions alltogether if they had blues and greens...what a complete waste of time...for some one like you i suggest you just stay in certain zones that are BELOW you...then you will always kill everything with no risk...

    STATESMAN -- i think the real solution is to make the contacts decide difficulty...just add many new contacts -- each would give out a different level of missions - Teddy Bear, Soccer Mom and Hero...that way all missions would be at a comfortable level for the player...they could even mix and match them depending on the villians and the role players would eat that up... the payouts, INFLUENCE and rewards should be reduced on low end missions...

    Statesman please dont cater to the mediocre. Aside from the Rikti sword and stun bug, this has to be the best second publish i have seen in a very very long time....this was equivalant to the 6 month update in most other games! Many Many of us where having FUN as opposed to just mindless grinding...People actually wanted to do missions as opposed to street cleaning.

    And to a lot of the LOWBIES complaining...the early missions have always been hard...your powers SUCK....i used to have to run out while fighting bosses and buy more INSPs and get back before he healed...sometimes several times

    The higher people who where complaining just didnt have time to adjust...their usual spam attack wasnt as effective...given anotehr few days people would have adapted --- lol --- it was really hard for the blasters to actually let us tanks and scrappers kill things....but after getting killed a few times drawing the agrro some of them relented
  23. I dont fight white mobs on the street...why would i want to deal with them in missions...

    the people who dont like it all seem to be level 10....getting to level 10 is like 5 hours of game play....missions and bosses where hard before the update for that level anyway...they dont even have a travel power! i mean doesnt everyone remember having to do the kill 10 circles of thorns mission and having to form a team and everyone dying...

    i really loved missions on THURS and FRIDAY before the saturday fix...i really felt like i was on a mission and was attacking a villian's stronghold...i really loved the mix of levels scattered thru the maps

    prepatch it was dull and repetitive....3 white mobs...2 white mobs and a lt...2 white mobs...3 white mobs...2 white mobs and a lt...yellow (occasionally orange) boss guarded by one white mob...

    to be honest i really dont think its the con level that is bothering people...the mobs just dont seem as dumb as the used to be
