    Claws/ EA v Elec

    Going by the WM/EA post below this one (currently) I think it is safe to say EA probably is not your best option.

    Though I have been looking at /elec and it does seem like you can get rather nice resists with your basic shields and top out your energy resist.
    Charged armor, Conductive shield, Static Shield and grounded (with 3 res slots):
    Smashing: 41.6%
    Lethal: 41.6%
    Fire: 41.6%
    Cold: 41.6%
    Energy: 90% (well more like 100%, but 90% is the cap)
    Negative: 35.7%
    Toxic: 0%
    Psionic: 41.6%

    With Power Surge on you can max everything but Toxic (83.2%) and Psionic (41.6%). Assuming you 3 slot its resists.

    My only worries with /Elec are:
    1. If you take Aid Self you will defiantly get a redraw, which kinda sucks.
    2. Will Power Sink or Energize cause redraw? not a big issue really...
    3. When in Power Surge mode with you be running around with your claws visible and nothing else? Seems like that would look kinda dumb looking. Again though not a huge issue.

  3. Ok, I am trying to figure out what recipe I need to use to get knock back res or def with. I would like to put it on Cloak of Darkness (DM/DA Brute), but I really have not done much with recipe's other then the basic ones you get at the university. So I don't really know what I am even looking for at all. I read that you can get recipes that would patch up the knock back hole in /DA. If anyone knows the name of the recipe or whatever that would work it would be a huge help. Thanks.
  4. Ok, I have been working on a DM/DA brute and am loving him so far. I have been working on his build but I am lost as where to go after lev 34. I don't want the leaping Pool if I can avoid it, which means I will have to find IO's that have knock back res on them. But I figure I have enough toggles without adding Acrobatics to the mix.

    At this point I can not figure out if I should get Cloak of Darkness or Combat jumping. CoD has better Def(3.75), but more end usage at 0.26. CJ has less End usage (0.07), but less Def(1.88) as well. CJ seems like the best choice, but if all I am really getting is Immob def couldn't I just get that off a IO as well? Also after that I don't really see what else I can really get.

    Oppressive Gloom. Why would I need a 2nd fear/stun? It is a lower magnitude also. Cloak of Fear seems like the better of the two and would work well with Touch of Fear.

    Soul Mastery:
    Gloom: Looks like it would be a nice add on but there is still a gap between 34 and 42 I need to fill to be able to get it. Don't seem much after that that would be useful in Soul Mastery, but I could prefer to stay with it for concept if possible. Darkest Night maybe if it wasn't for the insane end cost.

    Anyway any feed back, suggestions, build help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    DM/???

    Could always try /DA, its not that bad... till you get to the last 4 powers that is. Not to mention the Knock back hole, I mean like everything has knock back. Why do they feel they need to force us into the super jumping tree. I prefer Flight, AS rocks.

    I have a DM/DA I am really trying to get into, but everything after Dark Regen does not really make sense to me. Cloak of Darkness blows, period. Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom don't make any sense on a brute. How do you build fury when everything is feared or stunned? And Soul Transfer, come on who cares about a self rez?? Is that just NCSoft saying "yeah, this armor set sucks. Your going to die a lot so we thought we would help you out". I mean come on give us something at least useful.

    DM/DA is a great concept build but I don't see it being much use other then that. Maybe I am still to low, hear its a late bloomer. Not seeing it though.

    My Character looks pretty bad *** though... at least as long as Cloak of Darkness is off.
