We should set up a thread of things we would (realistically) add to MA to make the missions different and original.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about some of the things that are in game at the moment, like leading hostages to glowies or having two enemy groups fighting without damaging each other.
That last one is my personal bugbear, because it's been the standard mob fighting behaviour for as long as I've been playing. -

None of your post made any sense to me, and that makes me sad.

I had porn adverts that used the names of my COH characters in my spam email. I've never published those names online. I've only ever created and left one of those characters in Outbreak about 100 days ago. The other I haven't logged into in 75 days.
Very odd. -

You can move missions by clicking and dragging them in the MA screen. This way, you can play mission 5 as mission 1. Just remember to move it back when you're satisfied!

Really? Splendid! Thanks Mr Aardvark. Is there a 'manual' for the MA tucked away somewhere?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing official, but one or two players have produced a few hints - we really do need a compendium though. -

And possibly a tad paranoid, but I've just got a couple of spam emails through which contain character names from City Of Heroes.
None of my mains though, but characters I've created a while ago and never played. One of the names might (if you squint and apply spam logic to it) possibily be that of someone who did indeed want to (and I quote, with better spelling) "show me what really happens on the farm", but the other one would not in any reality be the name of a porn star.
It's kind of worrying that names I've never published online, but have created in a small online game are being sent to me in spam emails now.
So am I paranoid or are NCSoft jumping on the Phorm bandwagon and flogging our gaming details? (yeah, that's a tad extreme, but it's the weekend!) -
I've had the same problem with a couple of arcs - I've told the authors that what they wrote was well done, but it just wasn't interesting for me personally (most magic stories, anything that says "Investigate Council base" etc.)
It's like picking up War and Peace - sure, it's technically an interesting book, with many juicy themes and many well deserved plaudits but it's actually a bit dull to be honest.
Personal taste has to be reflected in the score, even if something is technically proficient and well constructed.
And if it comes to being deliberately marked down because you were honest? Well, from what I've seen of the MA so far, I find it hard to believe that any arcs that are not part of a large group rating system will ever see a large amount of feedback, postive or otherwise.
The game's just too small for that. (I suspect that the number of ratings needed for each badge will come down in an Issue or 2). -
Agreed - I tried to have different people taking over the mind of the City Representative for one of my arcs, but a lot of people didn't get it (I was too subtle in saying "I, Psimon Omega, have taken over this person's mind!", apparently)
So yeah, this would be good. -
During beta, I couldn't locate the Radio as an enemy (even though I could use it as a contact), nor could I find Johnny Sonata (or his personal cave map either).
Killed my desire to make a couple of my arcs that did
I'm also annoyed that there's no "Set two mobs fighting against each other without damaging each other option until you show up", despite the fact that is such a normal happening in the existing missions. -
[ QUOTE ]
...but I did it with a team so wasn't looking at it too hard either.

Another MA problem -
That was me, I think. I played that one yesterday or today and said pretty much that (although, I think I said more than that, I'm not so much a spelling nazi).
Another issue for the MA is that you can't readily identify native-English speakers and thus spelling/grammar mistakes can't be attributed to translation difficulties. -

but once under live conditions most people will just give it a rating and not bother with actually providing constructive feedback
[/ QUOTE ]
Pfft. I'll always offer constructive feedback. We complain at the devs when things aren't to our liking, just view other players as practice! -
I'd like it broken down further (this is actually different from your suggestion, but heck, bandwagon!) -
As in ratings for plot, characters, interactions, that kind of thing.
Because whilst I've enjoyed a few of the arcs I've played, I've had to rate them down because of spelling mistakes, info that contradicts other info (as in the character name was one thing, the info called them another), 4th wall breaking stuff too (not Judgement Dave's arc, I'd like to add, I liked that 4th wall breaking) - like the clue being provided by a speech from a bodybag! That kind of thing. -
I was a tad annoyed earlier - I'd just finished your other arc (heh heh heh heh) and wanted to try that one, but could I find it in the search list?
No.
Hope it returns soon. -

What's specifically rubbish is that if you get something one of your other characters CAN use - there's no way to transfer the recipe to them.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, but you can create the enhancement and leave it in base storage. Or find someone you trust to pass the recipe to and then get it from them? -
I like the costume pieces
I like the idea of change emotes even more.
Wish they would make some retroactive to Booster Pack 1. Not likely though. -
Capes are still randomly disappearing.
With new costume pieces coming in a few days, can we please get this problem sorted asap? -

I'm not seeing any posts about the fantastic 80s heyday story on the main page?

My one concern about this is how old is Ms Liberty?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not Ms Liberty, that's Miss Liberty, you know, the mother of Ms Liberty and the son of the biggest jerk on Earth.

My ex-flatmate had a super-powered daughter?

No bushbaby didn't!!!!!
Grrrrrr....

I'm also a little bored with it right now.
I've been going through my games on Steam and all the old Q3 Engine games I've got just to pass the time.
Normally this feeling of boredom passes for me in two weeks or so. -
The Register has it's own typically down to earth view on this - the comments have at least three people who play City Of Heroes in them (yes, I'm one of them, but not the Anonymous Cowards).
I tend to agree with him, but only if it's written badly or part of a terrible series of quests. Sometimes, I'm just looking for well written stuff and would rather that than "Go Hunt. Kil Skuls." -

Nah, it just sucks how Scotland, Wales and Ireland all get days off on saints days, and England doesn't. Im quite patriotic, so I think it's a crying shame, dontcha know?

Scotland gets a day off for their patron saint? I can honestly say that's the first time I've ever heard that. -

I don't wanna talk about MA until we can play it as it's too much like masochism. *grumble* closed beta *grumble*
Look over there! A giant Hamidon is eating Atlas Park!

Tough. I want to speculate about it until we get some solid facts. That's how the internet works. -

I'm just going to tag arc's with 'Bring friends' if there's anything nasty.
So, y'know. Every arc.

You should use AAAAAAAAAAAA MOTHS.

"Bring friends (AAAAAAAAAAA MOTHS)."
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the term friends should be widened to "Other anti social people playing an online game" just to be clear
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that was a well understood given? -
