  1. I was able to handle it on a full t4 earth/rad controller running at +3/x1. I died a few times and had to take it pretty slowly, but it was doable. And you get to feel like you've really accomplished something afterward.
  2. Regardless of which server you choose you'll want to check the forums for that server and find out what global channels are used there. Unless you're a free only player, in which case you won't have access to them. And if you don't have access to the global channels it will be difficult to find groups on the lower population servers. And if you really want a high population server I would recommed Virtue over Freedom based on my own experiences. But I'm a small town guy myself and play almost entirely on Victory.

There are basically 4 ways to do a lambda.

    1. Kill outside - turrets - courtyard - get acids and grenades - Victory style, wait till 18:30 and then use acids and wipe everything.

    2. Similar to 1 without doing turrets

    3. No outside/turrets, courtyard to open the facility then get acids and grenades but don't use the acids and wipe everything outside

    4. As 3 but never enter the acids part of the facility, whole raid rampages throught the grenades side killing stuff in there as the timer won't allow you to proceed for 5 mins anyway, then get the last grenade as clock approaches 5 mins. This (I've never done one) is my understanding of "Freedom standard" for a fast run. By doing this the timer never extends so guaranteed 5 mins.
There's also 2.5: Same as 1 but no outside or turrets. If no one on the team is needing IXPs then there's little reason to kill the outside mobs. Thread (and other) drops aren't really that great for em.

I should note that I haven't actually run a Lambda in a while. I'll have to start back up when I finally get another character to 50 soonish.

That first one looks like it might be made of five heroes combined.

Edit: I seriously hope those wings don't flap. Or at least have a no flap option.

i doubt there are any staff unlocks though since TW had no unlocks that i know of
Also Rikti and Crey weapons. And it should be noted that the Roman weapons STILL need an unlock. The costume bundle included shields and the various armor bits, but not the weapons.
  6. Hybrids? Is this about the Liger?
  7. Anyone else think the Helm of Tartarus looks oversized for character it's on? Are we heading toward a Dark Helmet look?

Gah. I hate the axe/mace. It looks awful as a mace and even worse as an axe.

    Mob run away...

A lot of mobs seem to be coded to run away if a high enough percentage of their total health is done to them within a short enough period of time. Running against mobs that are effectively -3 to you will probably cause you to hit that threshhold on them a lot.

Edit: First reply to a graystar_blaster thread.

There's no winning. It's just another regional thing. Down here a toboggan is what you would most likely call a knit cap.

The intro 'arc' doesn't actually send you anywhere near the permanent portal. It sends you to DA through a different "once only" portal that's in a mission map.

Edit: I'm not actually saying the permanent portals are hard to find. They could have big flashing signs with directions to it every 50 feet in every zone and some people still wouldn't be able to find it. Much in the way that people still occasionaly ask for the location of a new contact for the SSA.
  13. The sandwich is a sub. Grinder will occasionally be used around here, but never hero or hoagie.

Heres another test: Define the word 'Toboggan.'

Down here we call them groundhogs instead of woodchucks.

It's not entirely a question of time and effort. If you give a damn about role playing at all (and I'm aware most don't) you wouldn't want to make your do-gooder turn evil for a bit just to have access to a defense toggle. I think hero's should have arcs available at 35 that have you go up against one of the patrons and gain access to 'their' powers by defeating them.
  16. Soft Drink. Around here soda or coke would be acceptable generic terms, but calling it pop is likely to get you laughed at.

Er....between the two options I'd go with chunked.

    North Carolina

Edit: Interestingly, according to the map I'm in an "Other" county surrounded mostly by "Coke" counties with a couple "Soda" counties.

The Mecha costumes sound sweet, but I wish we had some screenies! Hell, I'd settle for concept art.
I liked First Ward quite a bit. But having run it it's not a place to return to much. And the ending of the arcs wasn't an ending at all. It just sorta....stopped.

Precognition would come with a real taunt aura though. It would cause attacking mobs to have a chance to fall (aka knockdown) when you avoid an attack.

PS I don't really think we need such a power set.

Precognition should be a positional defense based set.

So...yeah, probably a few weeks tops and I'm sure the programmers have SOME free time...
I'm not a programmer either, but I'm pretty darn sure Neuronia was kidding. No need for people to keep telling him how wrong he is.

  23. Did World War II take place on Praetorian Earth and if so did it have the same level of atrocity as in the real world? Specifically, did the Holocaust take place there?

PS I ask because it's relavant to a character bio I'm working on.
  24. Make sure you join the chat channels "Victory Forums" and "Victory Badges". That's where most of the chatter and team building takes place for the server. You're also more likely to get advice there than on the 'Help' channel.
