If I were a betting man, I'd say this is the craziest way of announcing I17 coming out before Going Rogue. And what will it have in it? I'd say both the graphics update and new content, as teased by our battling devs. :-)

I often play with my son, but he has altitis as bad as I do, so we often end up playing many different combinations.
Here's some that we play frequently. Overall, depending on your son's playstyle and skill, you might be better off with a support type, with him doing the damage dealing and you doing the enabling. It also helps to not have the same damage type. Currently, he prefers to have me play someone who can tank or control while he does the blasting.
Here's some combo's we've played: (Father, son)
Katana/Dark scrapper, Assault Rifle/Traps Blaster
Illusion/Kin controller, Fire/Fire blaster
Dark/Empathy Defender, Electric/Electric Blaster
Necro/Dark Mastermind, Stalker
Plus many others.
Generally, once we've gotten past the awkward early stages and the powers are fleshed out, we really tend to roll through the opponents. -
In the lead up to the release, I could have sworn that it was mentioned that we could set up a mission that would include a rescued captive that would turn on the player.
Now that I'm trying to incorporate that into a story, I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Was I imagining things? -

On a serious note: its a shame I cant see the future. I picked the 5th column pet with my macer, had I known the next pet (or that there was going to be another pet) was going to accommodate clockwork design but no 5th column designs, I would had picked the clockwork non combat pet instead.

I think that they were going for hovering pets, and I don't think there's an appropriate 5th model for that. The Power Drone should do for a mechanical model at least. I'll probably pick it for my alts that have the clockwork pet anyway since it'll probably be less intrusive. -

[ All told, a more classic example of Feature Creep you will never find!

Given that were talking about pets, shouldn't that be Creature Creep?
Bwah-ha-ha! I slay me. I really do. Now where are my meds? -
I've been playing with my now-11-year-old son for the past 3+ years and the winter event was his favorite (especially the first, crazy XP out of control, one).
He liked swimming so much, he left his hero in one of the Steel Canyon ponds before it froze over and was stuck when we logged back in after the freeze.
I trust him enough now to let him log in by himself, which is very nice. I travel a lot with my job, and last night I was able to play with him from my hotel room. Can't tell you how nice that was. -

Indeed. It states clearly that Jenkins was captured, and that no cure was found for the plague. You get the cure in the last mission in Outbreak, and you rescue Jenkins in the last mission in Breakout.
This is Paragon... without _you_.

Hmmm, is this what happens to your server's world after you transfer? Maybe they're trying to guilt-trip us into staying put. -

Limitless Expansion . . . Sounds like a metaphor for elasctic bands in Haggar Action Slacks.

Wait, does this mean that everyone packs on weight when the go to the Universities? Are they adding a gym feature in Issue 10 to help us work it off? -

So not really sure what to do at this point, I guess play until the proverbial plug is pulled but I won't be putting in the time as much anymore on making new chars, etc, not with the death penalty so close behind me.

[Cher]Snap out of it![/Cher] If "close behind" is the 2-3 years it will take for MUO to be even in beta, I would hate to see what "far out" looks like to you. Enjoy the game, don't worry, be happy, <insert your favorite (perhaps more recent) cliche here>
There are a lot more things to worry about what will happen 2-3 years from now when MUO comes out. Stop reading the CoX boards and head over to CNN.com if you want something to be depressed about. -
Here's an obvious one: Do you have any personal favorite comic stories and if you could, which one would you like to recreate in the CoH world?

A few comments on this.
I don't care for the defense reduction, since Stealth and Hover are the only defense my blaster has. I understand the changes to defense overall - but I would like to see something more along the lines of limiting defense stacking: if using Stealth (or other pool defense power) along with other defense powers apply lower limits - if its all you got, apply the higher limit. It was my impression that was the original purpose of the defensive pool powers: to give some defense to the defenseless. At least that's the impression I got from the original manual.
Does the same defense reduction logic also apply to Hover and other powers that have a defense bonus?
The other thing I really don't like is the strobe effect of dropping the stealth - its really annoying. I say document the "reduce-while-attacking" feature in the short/long power descriptions but as long as the power is on, leave the visual effects alone. Otherwise, in prolonged contact, you're likely to not remember that you have it on, draining your endurance.
Finally, I agree with the comments on keeping the "visibility on attack" to only the group you are attacking. While some of us know to use this to aid in pulling one group away from another, I suspect that quite a few players don't realize this benefit and are going to be really surprised when this goes live. Also, for large teams, I have afeeling that tactics like this are going to be important in the Issue 5 world. Besides, wasn't this the only reason Invisible Kid was in the Legion?
