No, the real question is why don't they drop overwhelming numbers instead of going to defeat after defeat?

Also bombs don't do anything even if they explode. What's the point of them then?


And worst of all, they retreat even if they win! I was in Cap Au D early on this weekend when they invaded (again.) We got our butt handed to us. The Rikti won!

Then the Official Notice: "The Rikti have retreated! Yey!!!"


While the bombs and battles are quite exciting, well done!, the bigger context busts the immersion some.


How about a special server with greater interruption, such as if the Rikti take a zone, they hold it until some heroes bust in, establish a beachhead, and clear it back out? While it's taken, the zone is on hold and highly dangerous. Yes, it messes with missions, but if people wanna live on such a server, so be it!

Anyone wanna bet this server would be clogged, rather than avoided because people "don't want their cross-country journey to level with their friend messed up"?

I'd play on it... And can we get multiple spawns of Rularuu to join in? Also, every once in a while it would be nice to see a notice of the sky turning green and all the sudden you see in the Channel:

"Ghost Widow has found a way into Steel Canyon and is reeking havoc."
Code the zone for that event to be like a cross between a Rikti Invasion and Mayhem Mission with the AV destroying cars, crates, lightposts...

Since all the attack powers say that you can regain end when they hit, is it enhanceable with End Mod Enhancements?

That could possibly take the need for Stamina out of the build...

I had this problem in Beta... Was playing a brute at the time and got my first Broker in PO... As I leave Drea I get trashed by a level 9 Damned... Go to the hospital and guess who shows up? And I know he was after me because there was other folks around me and when he killed me he ran off... So I leave the hospital (again) and go to the mission... As I'm waiting for my teammates to show up, here comes a level 9 Damned (again...)
I escape into the missions door and when we finished it he didn't bother me any more... but yeah... I'd say PO has a aggro problem...

Castle: The Status Bar for Hide would be binary: Empty or Full. So, that isn't really an optimal solution. For now, we'll stick to trying to get the "Hidden" message in and think about adding art to the UI at a later date.
Castle: This would be new code which would then need to be tested thoroughly and would inevitably have edge case issues. It's not terribly difficult, really, but it is time consuming at a time when we have little time for new features. So, until we can do it RIGHT, we'll just use the Status Display section of the UI to display the word "Hidden" whenever Hide is on and Unsuppressed.

Is there any reason why we can't have a bar that is full when hidden and after your AS it slowly refills showing how long until you are completely hidden again?

I was going to do all the Hollows stuff because it's just such a fun zone... but I may not do the Trans trial now... depends on my mood and the team I find when I get to it....

My suggestion... Ask a bunch of higher level folks to go on it with you... No XP but probably no deaths either

Family Traditions

Bobby grew up idolizing his granddad and father. They were both firefighters in a small town in Northeast Missouri. Always wanting to go and play on the trucks with his dad when he worked shifts, asking grandpa to tell him stories of rescuing people, saving buildings from total destruction, and seeing a little girls eyes light up when he got her kitten out of a tree for her. He was so proud that when he turned 18 he joined the same firefighters academy that they had both attended and graduate from despite the wishes of the rest of the family.

His parents were always afraid that he would try to be much to the hero. He had said many times that he would rush into a burning building to save a family, child, or even a pet. Frankly, it worried them.

3 months after graduating the Academy their worst fears came true. Someone had a meth lab in an apartment building that exploded. 6 stories of housing was now a big bonfire and every fire department within 50 miles had been called to help stop the blaze.

Bobby’s truck was the first to arrive.

Almost out of instinct he grabbed a hose and started up the ladder to work on putting the roof out. He had been going at it for 15 minutes when he heard the faint cries. “My babies”, “Someone help us we are burning up in here”.

He could see movement through the closest window. A family of four huddled in a corner, wrapped in blankets and screaming for help. Bobby looked down at all the other firefighters telling him it was a lost cause. They said he needed to get the hell away from the building before it collapsed. He just shook his head no and pointed at the window making the sign that someone was in there.

His father on the ground knew what Bobby was thinking. He started to climb the ladder to get his only son down but he was to late. Bobby, always wanting to be the hero, finally got his chance. Jumping through the window to help the family frozen in terror, he knew he could hand them out to his dad coming up behind him. He HAD to do this… This was RIGHT to do, damn the consequences.

He scooped up the 3 year old twin boys and handed them out to his dad who started down the ladder to safety. The mother and father were soon following. As Bobby started out the window he paused. Was that another voice he thought to himself? He could have sworn he heard another cry for help. He went back inside and started looking through rooms. And then all hell broke loose.




Will write more later... time for work at the moment... Feedback so far is appreciated though
