Thank you for all that you do!
    Fixed for Worldwide gratitude. Thankyou.
  3. But at the end of the day Poison Ivy controls plants mentally - that just not in Nolan's mindset for a reality-based Batman trilogy.

And Arkham Asylum (or City) would be the absolutely perfect vehicle for a weekly live-action Batman 1-hour TV show in my opinion.

I like the suit transition. But the mask? I can't put my finger on it, but there's something off about it. It just doesn't look right.
    I'll try.

First off, I'm looking at a copy of GL:Secret Origin, and the mask is almost completely different.
The mask i'm looking at (although hugs the nose like that teaser version) actually bends up passing the cheeks and then the twin peaks above each eye. Just google 'Green Lantern', Its like that in almost every version. Eyes are also completely white, not with horrid pale pupils... in other words the mask looks like this, same with 'Blackest night', same with 'Sinestro Corps', almost the same with 'No Fear' (although that mask has a peaked batman-esque nose flute a'la Alex Ross artwork).

The weird thing is, the mask on the video seems different and looks almost rectangular.
The plainest mask of all the variations is the one in the animated feature 'First Flight' but even that has more character than what i've just seen in that video. In previous leaked photos the mask looked like this, so either we are looking at it at an angle where it looks flat or they've changed it.
At 0:09 seconds it looks peaked at the temples, at 0.32 it looks different and horribly rectangular, so heres hoping its not a continuity error.

Either way I hate the bit @ 0.11secs where he shouts "I know right !", i know Hal is cocky but that just seems too typically the comedic Ryan Reynolds. I want to see Ryan Reynolds doing some character acting and portraying a decent Hal/GL - not the character absorbing Ryan Reynolds and oh hey... it looks, sounds and acts just like Ryan Reynolds.
I also don't like the way the suit is so tight, I mean theres tight and then theres "OMG, ahh my eyes !, FFS put it away !" tight, and I got the impression, the general feeling from the tone of that teaser that there'll be plenty of moments of Ryan Reynolds whipping his belt off or his shirt off (which i'm not sure will interest the majority of the fanbase going to see this).

The thing that is personally bugging me is why is Hal's face as Green Lantern (in almost every shot) red?, wth... am i missing something here?.

To summerise, this teaser has made me fear that although Martin Campbell directed a cracking Bond film in Casino Royale (my personal favourite), I'm not sure he'll set the tone right with a GL film
Also that video could just be the first stage past initial animatics with further post-production CGI to-do, but personally i doubt it because DC would of yanked any unofficial leaks and why would you tease an incomplete sfx.

Yeah, I'm sure FedEx or UPS would love to charge you $20 postage to ship it across the pond + import fee.

£2 here at Play.com. The Collector's Edition is also available from Amazon.co.uk for a mere £3.65.
  6. Green Lantern has black arms and legs and white gloves. Without the contrast he just looks like a giant bogey. Not impressed.
  7. Remember Stephen 'Rockjaw' Reid ? - Well he's now the community manager for a certain upcoming MMO in a galaxy far far away.

    Batman Fan-Film

Gotta love fan-films. Whip round his house and tell him he spelt 'Gotham City' wrong on the intro.

As far as fanfilms go, i think Alex Ross once said Sandy Collora's 'Dead End' was one of the finest depictions of the character put to film. That along with his follow up; 'World's Finest' meant that at proceeding comic-cons the comic companies actually banned fanfilms on their IPs because they were stealing their 'official' thunder.

    It might be worth seeing.

    Thank you for the time...
I've gotta agree, I was half expecting another Yogi-Bear CGI monstrosity. Thank goodness they've kept to traditional 2D animation.

On a fanboy note I've relatives near the actual Pooh-bridge in England and I've played Pooh-sticks ! - TWICE !! - we threw our sticks in, raced across to the other side of the bridge, and mine floated out the other side first! - AWESOME !!! - In your FACE sis.

    Gotta luv teh Pooh-sticks.

Hahaha... I was just thinking how awful that name is too.
I'm not sure i agree with all this dilution of the Maul character. First they bring him back with robotic crab-legs, then SW:Force Unleashed has a Maul/Starkiller hybrid clone. They should get back in contact with Dermot Powers who did a whole load of great Sith apprentice / acolyte artwork concepts in the build-up to AOTC, and without recycling Maul all the time.

    TRON keyboard

Hmm, nice keyboard. Although it says Disney Tron keyboard so there is probably a shortcut to a Hanna Montana feed somewhere on it.
I'd order some glowy stickers for when i'm using the wireless keyboard away from the ambient light of the monitor when the visual feed is switched to 'b' to come up on the TV. Unfortunately both UPS and FEDEX want over $20 dollars for shipping to the U.K.

I've seen the Xbox360 controller as well. Personally i think the motorcycle suit looks fantastic, and a lot better than the UD replicas Ironman one... (that was rather embarrassing looking).
Those Tron motorcycle suits (available here) look pretty heroic and you'd have to have a suitably meaty ride to show it off, you know... not a pizza-delivery moped or anything.

Now all you've gotta do is to replace the light reflective and pimp it out with EL film light tape like this young-lady has.
  12. Take care, see you again sometime Cyberknight. .o/

Personally (57 months here) I'm always interested in City of Heroes evolving their enviroments, which is why I am particularly keen on the player-suggestions in the 'All things art' threads (especially the building edition one) being implemented asap.

  15. He's been doing this for nigh on six years as far as i can tell, search on youtube for his aliases of 'Jetman' & 'Fusionman'.
  16. For tech-based real superpowers, I'd have to go with the Gekko suit and carbon nano-tubes.

  17. I've not long returned from a long absence and i've been meaning to post this for a little while, but how long and more importantly why has the animation for 'Clear Mind' been changed from a nice one-armed casting animation to "Here!, let me free you from your bonds BY SHOVING MY PALM IN YOUR FACE !" (also known as Telekinetic Blast).

    Thanks in advance.

Well, as every good sci-fi geek knows - you cannot go back beyond when the time machine was constructed in the first place. I guess you'll have to find someone who has a working one themselves and ask them to go back and reassue you its worth buying.
  20. I love the way everything in this, the all-so futuristic 21st century, from the development of a global web of communication to cutting-edge android research is still driven by undertones of Mankind finding new ways to the age-old pursuit of 'getting his leg over'.

    Seriously hilarious !.

"To the stars !" [add echo and reverb]
  21. But if the time-travel ones work you could go back and reassure yourself that they are indeed worth buying.
  22. I am a big fan of both 300 and Watchmen, and this new film looks fun with all the trademark Snyder 'slow-mo then speed up then slow mo' camera-shots - this does makes me worry for his treatment of Superman though because i don't feel thats the feel a Superman project should share. I don't want a Superman which is 70% slow-mo superman returns 'bullet-to-the-eye' shots. I think that would get pretty boring after a while, (no matter how spectacular).

If this his style of filming is so indelibly signature and he cannot help but pull this treatment with every-single-film, and if indeed that is the only way he visualises action in his mind's eye as a director, then I can see his portfolio of films starting to look too samey.

I want to see this Snyder/Nolan Superman project - I just hope Nolan can influence the film enough to stop it from the excesses of being another 'Snyder-Slow-mo'.
  23. F2P? - Its clearly worked for [insert developer that sounds like a jet engine] - apparently 3-times as many people are online at peak-time and they've doubled their revenue since changing from a paid subscription model.
  24. Theres an interesting article over at Eurogamer.net. It details another studio's decision to go F2P.

    Linky.
