As far as I know NCSoft Europe is a seperate company that works with NCSoft US. If this is the case it would be a fair assumption that the game has to be self-sustaining as opposed to relying on the US to survive. If anyone can shoot me down there, feel free.

Anecdotal evidence means very little. 500 odd people on at one time? So? I sometimes don't even have time to play once a week nevermind every day. Sometimes I just don't want to play. I play enough to justify the sub though. People online means NOTHING beyond the possibility of not finding a team. Whether the game is dying or not is down to profit. If someone could use some relevant statistics then we could draw a conclusion. The amount of people playing at one time affects teams. It does not affect profit, subscriptions do. You would likely find positive correlation between the two, but they are seperate.

And I suspect that whether the servers are merged is based on subscriptions as opposed to how many people are online.

I've never:

- Set foot in the Shadow Shard
- Done the STF/LRSF
- Done original OR new Hamidon
- Dinged 50 on Villains (working on it)
- Gotten umpteen and one badges that I can't be bothered listing.
- Succumbed to altitis... I make them, they just get promptly deleted O.o
- Done a Strike Force
- Played a Dominator or Tank

I'm on 24 months... not really a 'hardcore' player at the moment. When summer hits I'll probably be on all the time though... no college and all.

Anyone who turns around and says "FARMERS ARE RUINING THE GAME" is missing the big picture. Replace the word "farmers" with "idiots". People annoy people. Always have, always will. There's an ignore command for a reason.

A while back it would have been a person messaging a force field defender with "R J00 HEAL0RZ?" or badgehunters complaining about being ganked in a PvP zone and the PvPers arguing their points back.

Someone gives you abuse? Laugh it off. Nicer to laugh than moan I say.

Edit: I must say I agree with MechWolfos, this topic has out-stayed it's welcome IMO.

Edit 2: I think you have a fair point Gravitos, but I'd disagree, I think the focus of any MMO is choice. The choice to do this OR that. Multiplayer is but one of these choices. You'd have a hard time progressing without it, but for this game I'd hardly say teams are necessary, merely advantageous.

Just because the devs didn't intend for it doesn't make it bad. The devs opinion isn't the be all and end all, indeed it's the consumers opinion that matters.

People pay for a service, they follow the rules of that service AKA the EULA. NOT ONCE on the EULA does it say "NO FARMING" therefore it's ok.

Saying farmers are inherently bad is like me saying fire blasters who pick rain of fire are the devil, you're criticising another players choice in the game that is down to them and them alone. Indeed it's like giving someone abuse for their taste in music, which nobody deserves*.

*Except people who like dance music. Spawn of satan that you are .

I have also had the request, I did it because of one reason. He was polite, he sends one tell, he doesn't spam you, asking if you'll help. It's simple, say 'yes' or 'no'.

I think it's pretty telling that someone felt the need to come and rant about such a minor thing which doesn't affect them at all. If he'd been abusive I could understand, but if we're referring to the same person he was very polite about it.

What he did was no worse than "Hey, you want to team?" the only difference was that the player helping wouldn't benefit. That hardly makes him "THE EVIL THAT PLAGUES THIS GAME COMMUNITY".

I'm certainly interested in giving it a go. It'll be the day after my 'prom' night so it'll be a challenge getting out of bed. But it's nothing I can't handle.

Thanks guys, it took a long time, but I finally got there!

Asking someone to help you do your job effectively in a team is not ignorant, and any player who would have done so to me would have got a /gignore straight away. I generally try not to take out anchors, but sometimes it does happen. Generally if someone doesn't want the team to be at peak performance then they're not worth teaming with, because they usually won't appreciate the uses of other ATs.

I wrote this about a week ago, I was a bit bored and felt like writing about my Scrapper's origin in more detail. Hopefully I'll have the time to advance the story. But here's the first part. I hope you like it!

Wolf Razor Part One: Awakening of the Beast

Matthew opened his emerald green eyes, ruffled his jet black hair and sat up, he felt odd, not quite whole. He instinctively reached for his father’s ring, the ring was pure silver, the only article of his father’s that Matthew possessed. As his fingers closed around the plain shimmering band a searing pain shot through his arm. The ring had done that every morning of this week, something was wrong.

Living in the Atlas Park region of Paragon City Matthew had seen a lot of fledgling heroes walking the first steps of their crime fighting careers. He often laughed at their wacky costumes, but he had a high amount of respect for the immense amount of good they do for the city.

Leaving his apartment he wandered among the spectacular skyscrapers, marveling at their beauty, it was a fine day, the sun was shining, but Matthew soon found himself in trouble with a young thug. The Hellion’s were always causing trouble and for Matthew it was no different.

“Your wallet,” uttered the young thug menacingly, brandishing his shimmering knife.

“Ok, take it,” Matthew replied, calmly reaching for his back pocket.

The Hellion foolishly relaxed, Matthew saw his opportunity. He leapt upon the thug, clasping his hands around his throat. A flash of white light, and Matthew was lying on the pavement, his blood spilling into the road.

He stared at the wound in his torso, his blood draining away. He began to feel light-headed, weak, he was dying. He lay there helpless, staring at the wound, willing it to be gone, to just close. Green light began to emanate from his torso, and Matthew watched in horror and bewilderment as the wound closed before his eyes.

Terrified of what had happened, he ran from the scene, what was happening to him? Something was inside his head, growling, vicious and terrible.

Alas, his affliction awoke; dormant it had lain since his birth. But now, the beast would wait; wait for the right time to go on the prowl.

Devices may not have high DPS, but it can sure as hell take out entire groups with next to no risk.

I like Time Bomb, I find it useful, tbh I'd rather they got rid of taser or auto-turret for Build-Up. Devices may not be in your face all out damage, but I like it. I do agree it needs buffing however, the devs need to look at making the set more desireable.

I'm not bothered, I took it hoping it would be good, I only have good opportunities to use it solo, and even then I've destroyed the mob before it has decent effect. It's coming out in my next respec.

You'll be missed FG, I hope for a swift return.

No problem guys, it was great. A first class team . I can't help but feel maybe we should have gone Rugged, might have been a bit more of a challenge for us.

Ah nevermind, I was expecting some people to not be able to make it anyway .

Ok, now I want to try a Blapper with Archery/Elec. What I want to know is, can this work well? Note this is for PvE. I am wanting to use a good amount of my ranged attacks as well though.

You need to be at least level 34 to join the respec Kinergy, sorry. If you can get there by Saturday there may well be a slot open for you .
