Bump.
Had one person respond with a character. Would enjoy writing for more.
Anyone else out there interested? -
Ive had a story in mind for several months, but havent had the venue to play it out. I was inspired by Blood Wolffes taking character submissions for his story, and thought I might try the same thing.
So, as of this moment, I am accepting character submissions for the story: The Rogue Columns.
I am looking for several Council or Fifth Column based characters, as well as heroes who have special hatred or dislike of either of those organizations.
Please either pm or email me your character submission. In the submission, I am looking for:
1- Basic hero/villain info (name, age, sex, height, appearance, AT, desired level for story, power pools). Pictures welcome. If you have a picture of your character, you can email me at castlezierath@yahoo.com
2- Brief bio of hero/villain (history)
3- personality (moral beliefs, are they a clutz? a ninja mysterious? etc.)
4- What can I NOT do with your character (Their skin is unbreakable, bullets bounce off, etc.)
5- No submitted heroes/villains will die, only my created ones will. Unless discussed with character's owner earlier and agreed on.
6- Forgiveness - While I will try to stay as close to your character as I can, if it is out of character, take it as artistic liberties. Like when a real comic is done by a guest writer. If you have very strict rules for your character and dont want any wavering, maybe you shouldnt submit. Also, patience falls under this. If I tell you your character is accepted then I will write them in. You may have to wait but it will happen.
7. You WILL be important (While my character, Blood Wolffe, will be in it, yours will be just as, if not more crucial to the story than mine.)
This is a big project and I do have a life so it will be done of the course of several months.
Assuming I get overwhelmed with requests I will try to get everyones name in, but the roles will have to vary in importance/size. That is if I get any!
Here is hoping people go for this and I can give you all a story worthy of your heroes and/or villains!
(And thanks to Blood Wolffe I creatively borrowed is 7 points and summaries.)

oh, now someone posts saying why. I knew that the history was in the game somewhere. I was going to recreate it in different terms for entertainment. Isnt that what the RP forum is about? entertainment?
[/ QUOTE ]
We do this for entertainment, yes, but we add to the world and work within the rules and characters that are established, not re-write the history of a character whom we dont have license to change.
That is my biggest gripe about most fan-fic; writers breaking down the histories set up by the creators and having the characters acting contrary to their personality. The affect is always so jarring that other people who know and love the characters go Whaaaaat? and get turned off to that particular fan-fic site.
Suggestion: ADD to the mythology of the City of Heroes; dont try and re-write the history of another persons character (especially if it is one whose history is well-known). Work on things that havent been developed. Interact with the signature characters, but dont try to change them. -

Newton appeared out of his singularity and floated above the Two Six. He glanced down at the woman heading to the building. Well, well, well, if it aint the voice of the Almighty, he said, laughing as he floated down. Myriam, I am very happy to see you again! Welcome back to the Two Six! Where did you go? We were all very worried, especially the boss-man.
[/ QUOTE ]
Newton led Myriam back into the Two Six. As you can tell, not a lot has changed here. A little dustier, a little quieter. Okay, a lot quieter. Your infirmary is just the way you left it."
"Were pretty much by ourselves as of the moment. I'm wondering if the court system is going to send us anymore 'community service' heroes. We could use a little fresh blood."
"Mystic Inferno has headed to the Rogue Isles on some job that I dont fully understand something about a god of Mu of some kind. I just couldnt go through another portal at this time. The last one I did almost killed me. -
Dear Dr. MacKallister,
I believe the least expensive place to get an apartment is Kings Row, although there are subsidized housing throughout the city, perhaps the best known is the Whitmoore Apartment complex in Steel Canyon right off the Yellow Line.
The most expensive apartments can be found in Founder's Falls. Between the expense of the upkeep of the canals and the maintenance of the high rises. Also, let's face it, it is the most beautiful of the zones.
In my contracting business, I have noticed that heroes with no secret identity do gravitate to other heroes. Only other heroes have a full understanding of the trials and tribulations of heroing in Paragon City. As for those with secret identities...I can't tell you...You know...secret identity...
I hope you found that informational.

Despite the fact that they were told they were safe, neither Smurd, nor Mystic dropped their protection spells. Mystic did take a seat, though, to rest his old and tired body. He'd seen far more mischief then he would consider prudent for one of his years.
Is this the Rogue Islands? Were supposed to have come out near the Rogue Islands.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, this is the Rogue Islands. About a thousand feet beneath its surface.
[ QUOTE ]
Smurd put his mailed hand to his chin thoughtfully. It appears that these snake creatures are competing with the Circle of Thorns for this area.
[/ QUOTE ]
They are. I have fought both Snakes and the Circle of Thorns in this area, as well as Arachnos, and screaming demons, and Tsoo, and the escapees of the Zig. The big man sighed and leaned against the wall. It is a quite nerve wracking. I am always afraid that some powerful mage will find my sanctuary spell and negate it, but thus far I have been lucky. It is a subtle spell, so most overlook it. He frowned.
He cocked his head, listening to the outdoors. The Snakes have lost our trail. They think weve teleported. He turned his head slightly, listening. They are slithering away. -
[ QUOTE ]
Newton had started to float away, but the voices stopped him. He knew her name, the chubby man realized. 'Ah, nutz. I'm going to regret this.'
He calmly opened a wormhole, and tried to pull her through it. If she didnt fight it, shed end up at the top of the police station next to the helicopter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whered she go? Newton asked, frowning, looking around. Can she teleport?
Apparently the man in the green suit had something better to do, and ran off in the wrong direction.
By the time Newton got to the helipad, Nadia was long gone. Maybe shell be back, maybe she wont, the chubby man thought as he threw himself through his wormholes again, heading back to the Two Six. Not even sure why I care. She had a ton of poor-me-self-centered angst which they all eventually grow out of. After all, I did, and if I can, just about anyone can. He grinned to himself as he slipped back into that poor-me angst so easily.
[ QUOTE ]
And right back here. To Kings Row. This part didn't look much different than the blasted parts of southern Lebanon she'd left behind.
[/ QUOTE ]
Newton appeared out of his singularity and floated above the Two Six. He glanced down at the woman heading to the building. Well, well, well, if it aint the voice of the Almighty, he said, laughing as he floated down. Myriam, I am very happy to see you again! Welcome back to the Two Six! Where did you go? We were all very worried, especially the boss-man. -
We cannot wait here, though, Azurus said, cocking his head as he listened again. They are coming again, in larger numbers. I have a safe haven a sanctuary, of sorts.
Azurus led the magician and the knight through the twisting tunnels. He stopped by an alcove with a broken statue of some kind in it. Azurus grasped the massive marble base, grunted, and shifted the heavy statue. With the sound of stone grinding on stone, the pedestal shifted, revealing a small doorway behind it. Hurry in. They are coming.
He pulled it shut behind them. Welcome to my sanctuary, the big man said, waving at the sparse room. It had indeed at one time been a temple room. The images on the altar had been chipped away, replaced by what appeared to be Norse runes and Greek letters. Rations and a few scrolls on the altar. There was a stool and a cot, but otherwise the room was bare.
Were safe here, Azurus said, leaning against the altar. Please, have a seat. -
[ QUOTE ]
Go ahead, priest, Ill back your play. Shields offering of the prey was a sign of respect, and he hoped that it would be taken as such.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cold Heart nodded thankfully to Shield, and then snapped his head towards the human. All the moisture from the ground and his clothing instantaneously cracked up around his legs. Using the mans own sweat, Cold Heart bound the mans arms to his side. The priest reached out his hand and formed an icy blade from the dank air. Into your cavernous mouth I send this lost soul, Great Mu! Cold Heart intoned.
As he approached, the Lost Rectors eyes glowed, and Cold Heart gasped as pain flooded through his entire system. He understands pain! Cold Heart crowed, his eye widening. Truly, a fit sacrifice!
The Rectors eyes widened as his attack seemed ineffectual. A moment later, the Rector was watching his own bright red blood spurt out, splashing the robed priest with it. Your death is not in vain, human, Cold Heart said calmly, leaving the ice sword embedded in the mans neck. You go to the Dark Lord and his greater glory. -
[ QUOTE ]
Up ahead in the tunnel there was a cave in that blocked most of the passage. They had to pick their route carefully, trying not to disturb the wreckage of the tunnel. This was particularly difficult for Shield, whos massive girth presented a problem in small spaces. Once they were nearly clear, Sword stopped them with a hiss. His reptilian eyes stared down the tunnel ahead, and he quickly vanished from sight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of all three, it was easiest for Cold Heart. He was much slimmer than either of the Hope natives, and he was able to use the elemental magics at his command to float easily through passages. On icy Temple, he had spent much time navigating the crevices of their home, making sure none of the Caxat got in.
[ QUOTE ]
Shield whispered to Cold Heart, he does this when theres prey ahead. We should get a good vantage point in case he gets hunters vision. Shield had seen him too many times get his sights set on one target without noticing even large numbers of re-enforcements.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cold Heart nodded, feeling the excitement build in him. While there were many things to hunt on Temple, and the Caxat were an occasional threat, most of the time he and his brethren battled the weather. Hunting something alive was still a relatively novel experience, and, foolishly, he found himself relishing the feeling.
He nodded to Shield to take the lead, and the one-eyed priest of Mu floated up behind the much more massive Lacerta man. -
I do hesitiate to offer this, but if people are interested, the Whitmoore Apartment website that I maintain does have a character section by alphabetical order.
If there is enough interest, I can expand it to include more of the rps (if others do the write ups...I can barely keep up with the seven threads I'm doing already) and/or to get an seperate website that isn't attached to my company site.
If all of you are interested in that sort of massive service/resource, let me know through pms or right here or through this thread.
Thanks - Mithril Zeta -
[ QUOTE ]
Sword thought momentarily before responding, we travel to retrieve the Eye of Mu, whatever that is. I thought it would be prudent to have a priest along with me during the process.
[/ QUOTE ]
I will be honored to assist you, brother Sword, Cold Heart said, bowing low.
[ QUOTE ]
He led them through the twisted caverns of ancient Orenbega, to a disused transportation circle and placed the missing runes on the dais in the spot that had worn free. One small incantation later, the gate sprung to life.
Sword Cloaked and Shield raised his defenses as they stepped through. They found themselves below New York, far underneath the city in some abandoned train tunnels. Shield had to clear out a way for them to get into the main tunnels as the room they appeared in had been sealed for decades, and the air was quite stagnant. Once they could breath fresh air again, well more fresh, then they were at ease in the darkness.
Sword knelt next to the train tracks and inspected markings along the ground, then tracked them up the walls of the tunnel. Were not alone down here, but we dont have time to kill everything, so we should direct our efforts in finding this Eye and be gone before they know were here. The Avatar wishes to use it to bring a Champion through the gate. I must admit, I am curious to see what a Champion of Mu would look like.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ive heard tales of their prowess, Cold Heart said. Which of the planets do you suppose produced the Champion? the priest asked. He threw a quick glance at the other two Lacerta. What are your home planets, brother? I, personally, am from icy Temple. -

"Introductions will have to wait, do you know what happened to Mystic Inferno?" Smurd sheathed his sword and leaped to his friend's side.
Mystic held up a hand, "now now, don't fret, I'm not so injured as to let manners lapse." Mystic pushed himself up along the wall. "This knight here is a fellow member of the SuperNaturals, and my long time associate, Mr John Smurd. Azurus Rigason, part mage, part knight as well it would seem. We are here to infiltrate the Rogue Isles and discover the trail of the new Mu cult. That's why we're skulking about in these caverns."
Smurd handed Mystic a vial of green liquid, which the mage drank in one pull and then placed the empty in his pocket. The magic began to work almost instantly, mending tissue and setting bones. Soon Mystic was simply sore and tired, not on the verge of collapse.
"Are you alright my old friend?" Smurd's face showed concern.
Mystic Smiled from beneath his mask and put his hand on Smurd's shoulder as he walked past, pausing to comment. "I shall have to discover a spell that reverses the aging process."
"Well, when you do..." Smurd smiled. He turned and held his hand out to the axe wielding newcomer. "Like my friend said, John Smurd, and I'm pleased to meet you. What are you doing down here?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Well met, Mystic Inferno, Goodman Smurd, Azurus said, although I must tell you I am not a mage. I am a warrior. I grew up in the forests of Asgard and the mountains of Olympus. It is all right if you do not believe me. I have found very few in this world who do. I am here to find my mothers ancient foe Stheno.
So you seek the worshippers of Mu the Dark. I had heard whispers that they had returned. Both of my parents people had unfriendly relations with the worshippers of Mu. If you would take the axe of a godling, I would join you. -
The big man looked sharply to the right. The sound of metal clashing. Coming from that way. He pointed down one of the tunnels. The man burst into flame again, and ran towards the sounds.
Off of him, spawn of Stheno! Azurus roared as he leapt onto one of the Snakes. The Mamba was flattened, and then cold reptilian blood splattered the floor. Greetings, sir knight, the bearded man said as chopped at the second. -
You became flame, the big man said. He stood over the bodies of the other Snakes. Holding up his bloody axe, he narrowed his eyes. The axe burst into flames and the blood boiled off. Mystic could see various Greek letters and Norse runes glowing in the axe. Are you part efreet or salamander? You have the scent of magic about you, yet still with the mortal blood. Theres more to you than meets the eye.
The man wore heavy armor, a sweeping cape, and a winged helmet. He had long reddish blond hair pulled back into a ponytail and a slightly darker beard. I am Azurus Rigason.
Azurus cocked his head and looked sharply off down the tunnel. Our fight has not gone unnoticed. More are coming. He turned toward where the portal was. That way is blocked. I hear at least thirty converging on that room. This way, he said, leading down a different passage. He stopped suddenly as if he had heard something out of place. He cocked his head again. Are there more with you? Im having troubles filtering past all the hissing. -

[ QUOTE ]
That was not wise, mortal, a deep voice murmured in the darkness. The snakes may have seen that. A tall man with heavy armor, winged helmet, and a massive axe moved into the flickering torchlight. A lone mage traveling in the Snakes Caves. Truly, not wise. Deep in his eyes, flames seemed to dance.
[/ QUOTE ]
The tall man turned his attention away from Mystic Inferno. The sounds scales slithering towards them reached their ears. They heard you, the bearded man said, straightening and bursting into flame. As I said, mortal. Not wise.
Three Snakes came around the corner, followed by one much larger than the others. If you can, slow down that last one, he said, brandishing his axe. Its a Cobra. Watch out; it spits poison. The flaming man launched himself at the first three armed Snakes. They shrank from his burning aura, and an axe embedded itself the chest of one of them.
The final one the Cobra hissed in anger. We have you now, Azurussssss! -
((Dear Two Six friends: as part of my birthday celebration on October 9, I am going to be getting the next update of the Whitmoore Webpage out on the web. So, if you have any histories, stats, descriptions, or any other sort of updates for the Whitmoore or your characters, please pm them to me, or email me at castlezierath@yahoo.com, and I will get them in.))
[ QUOTE ]
Mystic summoned a flaming sword, and slashed at the snake behind him, sending him to the stones. The snake in front slashed at him one last time, before he succumbed to the fire that blackened his scales. The blow sent Mystic Inferno to his knee, as he watched the crease of red appear on the shoulder of his blue robe.
He cradled his left arm as he hovered away from the scene, uncertain whether the snakes below had seen the flashes of light or heard the battle. He hovered back toward the portal, doubting his decision to come to the Rogue Isles greatly so soon after arriving.

"Self-centered? Nah, I love Aidan," She said, walking backwards, "And given our current circumstance, I just don't take kindly to strangers, even in their own backyard. Blame it all on me, thats fine," Nadia smiled bigger, "You must think I was supposed to realize some err of my ways? Get real flyboy. Go through what we been through. You'll know why I could give two craps about what you think or say."
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, chickadee, if you dont know what green haired mutant freaks go through from the moment they are born, and you dont care, get the $%# out of my neighborhood, and stop threatening my home. The papers that had been blowing around in the air around them stopped in mid-air and plummeted to the ground. The paper hit the ground with enough force to crack some more of the side walk. He floated up a little higher. He decided not to warn the self-centered wench that she was about to walk into a man in a green business suit.
[ QUOTE ]
Nadia finally turned around and into the chest of a man in a green business suit.
"Excuse you," Nadia looked up and her eyes grew wide as the man's face put terror in her heart.
"Hello Nadia," the man's voice almost sounded like several.
Nadia looked over her shoulder and smiled at the irony of her situation.

[ QUOTE ]
"Feliz Navidad," he said to the security guard who checked his ID card every night.
For the last two years, Ernesto had been working as a mechanic by day, and a janitor by night. He had immigrated to America from Mexico several years earlier, and since then was working his hardest to make enough money to bring his wife and child to the U.S. as well.
"Mira," he said, showing the guard the picture of his daughter. His English wasn't perfect, and sometimes he slipped back into Mexican. A lot of people thought Mexicans spoke Spanish, but any true Mexicano would point out that Mexican and Spanish were slightly different. Like English and American.
"Isn't she pretty in her Christmas dress?" he asked the security guard.
"Lovely," the man agreed absently.
[/ QUOTE ]
Jason watched Ernesto load up his janitorial supplies and head off. The tall man sighed and stretched. He knew that Ernesto was very proud of his kid, but Jason just couldnt see the beauty in babies or young kids. Theyre noisy, theyre wild, they suck up all your time. He had lost several good friends who no longer had time for him now that they had kids. He knew that the same thing would be happening to Fred soon, too, so Jason had started to distance himself even further from his partner.
Finally, Jason said as his night shift replacement came in. I thought you would never get here. The captain had Khell and Fred running all over the place, and I never got out of this area.
Jason headed back to the monitor room and grabbed his bag. Fred wandered in as well and grinned Jason. Finally, were done. It took a lot longer than I thought it would.
Jason grunted non-commitedly.
Youve become quite the conversationalist, Stoney, Fred said lightly, pulling on his winter jacket.
Jason grunted again, this time casting a sly eye over at Fred.
Fred laughed, catching the look. You take care, Stoney. Ill see you tomorrow. The wife is waiting. With a cheerful look and a bounce much to energetic for someone who had been at work all day, Fred hurried out.
Stoney finished pulling on his gloves, grabbed his bag, and headed out for home. -
The Cold Heart of Mu followed Sword and Shield to the portal room. He wasnt sure if he really like Sword; he was ambitious and opinionated, and that was frequently a dangerous combination.
Yet he was Cold Hearts brother in faith, so he considered what Sword had said very carefully.
He knew that Sword was treading on very dangerous ground. While he was able to rationalize the turning on the Consort not being an attack on the Avatar, Cold Heart wasnt sure that the Avatar would see it that way.
Cold Heart knew that he would have to observe the Consort and decide for himself whether she was ineffective or not.
Where to, Brother Sword? Cold Heart asked, pushing his hood back. He turned his single eye on the warrior-priest. -
[ QUOTE ]
"Go away, this is all your fault anyway," The young adept turned her back on the floating sugar rush and crossed her arms, nearly knocking a passer-by over.
She continued walking toward the train station.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, yes, I know, Newton said mildly, floating on above her. My fault for you sneaking into a police station and stealing food. My fault for you panicking and nearly collapsing a building and killing people. My fault for you nearly hitting your brother. My fault that your brother didnt come after you. My fault that your earthen powers are out of control.
Get real, chickadee. Im more than willing to take blame for what I cause. For instance, if you were to try to stick a stalactite up my butt, that would be my fault for taunting a self-centered earth controller who doesnt care about anyone, not even her brother. Newton mockingly stopped. No, I take that back. It would still be your choice on how you respond. You know, I take it all back, chickadee. Everything thats happened between us so far is definitely your fault. He paused again. You sure you dont want the Mountain Dew. -
[ QUOTE ]
"Nothing to see," he said. "Why don't you hurry up and re-install the camera so we can get to where we're supposed to be. The Chief might be patient but I doubt Mr. Tharomar is."
[/ QUOTE ]
I sure believe that, Fred said, pulling a chair over and standing on it. Hrm. Thats odd. The camera is just disconnected. The short man plugged it back in and keyed his earpiece microphone. Stoney, could you check if the monitor is back on.
At the front desk, Jasons long fingers danced along the keyboard. Yes, its back on.
Fred grumbled as he got off the chair. It was probably vanLoosen again. I wonder which poor girl he got in here this time.
Jason frowned, and started to check the digital security footage. He could find out who was in there just before the camera was unplugged
[ QUOTE ]
"Yes my names Jen Morse. I'm a doctor over at the hospital. I was paged and asked to come here for a meeting but they didn't say who. Could you check for me and then inform them that I'm here?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Jason looked up, a little startled. Oh, yes, maam. Sorry. I was a little distracted. He swore inwardly. This was another reason he didnt like working the front desk. Screens of any kind distracted him from conversations and the people around him. If he wanted to hold a conversation, he had to turn completely away from any television screen or computer monitor.
Jason checked the logs, and then double checked them. Maam, I sorry, Im not finding anyone with your name on their schedule. Do you have any idea which department this might involve? -
Outside Conference Room 7
[ QUOTE ]
"Sounds good to me," one of the guards whispered back and drew his pistol before standing to one side, ready to cover Khell's entrance. The other guard took up a similiar position as Khell shruggedand put his ear to the door.
"And this, my friends, is why I whispered," Khell whispered as he cupped his ear to the door to see if he heard anything. Hopefully if there was anybody in there they hadn't heard the incoming guards.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fred stepped off the elevator and froze, seeing Khell about to go into the room with the Chiefs guard on either side of the door. Moved against the wall quickly, careful not to bang the new camera as he did so. So, I obviously missed something he whispered. Not a faulty camera, eh? -
Newton floated about twenty feet off the ground, watching the girl stalk along. He reached into his bag, and pulled out one of his Mountain Dews. He focused in on it, and floated it down so it floated in her path.
As the young woman saw the floating can and jumped a little. He waited until she looked around wildly and found him floating above her. Thought you could use another one. I know I always can. Caffeine withdrawal is a b***h, isnt it.
