So the plan is to be on Union as a zombie the Saturday, Oct. 29th, at 1 pm EST/noon CST/11 am PST? Right?
-
Okay folks, here's the current schedule of events for me...I still haven't come up with a catchy name for this...and I was -going- to do Master iTrial Runs, but Septipheran beat me to it. :P
On Tuesdays at 4 pm PST/7 pm EST, I will be running TASK FORCE TUESDAYS, with TFs and themes to be determined.
On Fridays at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST, I will be hosting Costume Contests under Atlas, with my special guest judges. Theoretically, prizes will be one hundred million influence, seventy five million influence, and fifty million influence, but they could go higher and I might also hand out special "honorable mention" prizes.
On Saturdays at 3 pm PST/6 pm EST, I will be holding Hamidon Raids on Heroside!
On Black Friday, that's Friday, November 25th, at noon, I will be holding a Shadow Shard Task Force Marathon. We're going to run ALL FOUR Shadow Shard TFs in a row. More rules for this will be posted later when I post the signup sheet!
More events may be added as I think of them or as people volunteer to run them!
It begins on Tuesday, November 1st at 4 pm PST/7pm EST with our first themed Task Force Tuesday...
Bring your kings, your queens, your jokers, and your knights! Dress up in your finest medieval garb and join me for a SYNAPSE TF, suggested by MI Abrahms, who says we ought to pit one kingdom against another! Sign up by posting in this thread right here!
1.) @MissKyo - Risus Occultus, Archery/Dark Corruptor, Court Magician
2.) @El D - Calico Black, Archery/Traps Corruptor, Court Jester
3.) @Archiviste - Meniac v2, Shield Defense/Energy Tanker, Knight
4.) @Mr. Grey - Eisenherz, ???
5.)
6.)
7.)

Will do! As of right now, I am ALSO planning a Shadow Shard Task Force Marathon for Black Friday!
You've been warned...muahahahaha... -
...which means, PLAYER EVENTS!
Actually, no it doesn't. It means I'll be working to raise awareness of Real World Hero (http://realworldhero.com) in-game throughout the month of November. Why November? Well, the Real World Hero drive normally kicks off around December, but there are a LOT of Player Events going on in December. It's a busy month! Besides that, I know cash is tight for a LOT of people this year, so starting in November gives you a little more time to set some funds aside to help out people who need it.
Real World Hero is a charity drive started in 2009 by Mr. Wentworth and the lovely Sultry Siren, who believed that the City of Heroes community was SO AWESOME that they could raise money for three different charities: Child's Play, Operation: Gratitude, and DonateGames.org. They thought $1,000 would be great, but the CoH community blew them out of the water and raised $10,000 instead! Last year, they added Heifer International to their list of charities and raised $12,000! This year, let's see if we can do even better!
With the goal in mind of helping Real World Hero raise AT LEAST $15,000 this year, AND getting Protector off the bottom rung of the graph showing which server donated the most (seriously guys, we only beat PINNACLE!), I plan on running a series of events throughout November. What kinds of events, you might be asking yourself?
Weeeeeeeeell...
-I'll be bringing back Task Force Tuesdays for the month of November only, and each week's TF will be themed! If you'd like to suggest a TF and a theme, please PM me-I'd be glad to have a little help! No, suggesting a theme does not mean you have to run the TF.
-I'll be running costume contests every Friday night under the statue of Atlas. Prizes are yet to be determined, and I hear there might be a mystery judge or two helping me with this...
-I'd like to run a Hamidon Raid every Saturday in November. I'd LIKE to. This one I'm going to need help with-if you're willing to boss a Hami Raid, either blueside or redside, let me know.
If you already run an event weekly or monthly, consider using it as a platform to help spread the world about Real World Hero. I'm looking at you, Strike Force Sunday, Kheldian Friday, RtR, and Kult's Last Chance! I tried not to step on anyone else's toes with my event schedule, but if I am, let me know. The Friday CCs will take place before Kheldian Fridays kickoff if I can manage it (and I probably can).
If you'd like to donate prizes for any of the events, I'm mostly looking to give out one overall prize for the themed TFs (best costume) and three prizes for each CC (first, second, and third place). I'm also looking for people who are willing to help run events, judge them, and just show up for them, as well as people who are willing to spread the word on their leagues, teams, task forces, and supergroups.
So, this holiday season, how will YOU become a Real World Hero? -
Not sure I'm familiar enough with pop culture (other than internet culture, and I've even managed to ignore a lot of that) to come up with famous British dead person to invade as.
I might just show up as a random Victorian zombie.
After all, nonfamous personages can easily become zombiefied too. >.>
<snaps fingers> I just gave myself an idea! <runs off> -
Come on Protector! <claps>
-
Count me in. I'll suggest Exalted, but that might keep some people from playing.
What server HAVEN'T we visited yet? Anyone remember which servers we've invaded and what the theme was for each? -
I also like turtles and am a proud member of the Mr. Grey fan club!
Join Protector Vigilance to keep your finger on the server's pulse. If you wanna talk about a dead server it's not Protector-I got 17 people on a Lusca fight at 3 am EST last night! And then we ran an ITF! And THEN some of us went and messed around in the AE building for a while!
We're here, you just have to know where to look! -
Completed a very satisfactory trade with Donna_. Thanks very much! ^^
-
Continuing to take bids until tomorrow (Wednesday) morning...to clarify, I would be willing to trade either inf, or a couple of the purples I need (recipes or crafted IOs)...still looking for Apocalypse and Ragnarok.
I'm working on a build that's going to cost over 10 billion inf (most expensive build I've ever done, my mind is still boggled at all the zeroes) so I'd like to get it sold right quick so I can finish slotting some of those last two sets.
However, if you'd like to trade for one of the other 30 A-merit recipes, I'm more than willing to negotiate, just send me a PM (or a global tell if you can't get messages on the forums).
Thanks! -
Centurion_A, apparently you can't receive private messages on the forums. Please send me a global tell or e-mail ingame @DJKyo. Thanks!
-
Hey guys. I've got 30 hero merits and I'm looking to roll them for a GA: +Res +3% Def. I can roll it at any level.
I'm hoping to get at least 2.5 billion for it, but I'll also take purple set IOs in trade...I'm currently looking for all of the Apocalypse, Armageddon, and Ragnarok sets, except for the relevant procs.
Send me a PM here on the forums if you're interested, best offer by Wednesday morning will get it. Thanks! -
I really like to make loaded baked potato soup. You can find a recipe for it pretty much anywhere online, but here's how I do it:
Combine one bag of frozen hash browns, a generous amount of minced onion (it can be dried), a can of cream of potato soup, and a container of chicken broth in a pot. Salt and pepper to taste. Turn it on medium and stir. When the hash browns are soft and everything is hot, add crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, and whatever else you like. Top with sour cream and serve.
Oh! You can also substitute cream of broccoli soup for the cream of potato, and put broccoli in instead of bacon, and it makes a really yummy cheddar and broccoli potato soup. ^^
I cook kinda slapdash. >.> I had a recipe before I started making this, but I threw it out. It still tasted great! -
Quote:@OmegaKyo? @KyoTheDestroyer? @TheKyoFormerlyKnownAsDJ? Hmmm, these are starting to get kinda wordy.
I kind of like @KyoTheDestroyer, but I'm looking at a few other options right now. Most of them make it more or less clear (finally) that I'm actually a girl...it would be nice not to have to inform people on and off. :P -
I'm considering changing mine, seeing as I'm no longer a DJ. I just have to figure out what to change it to, since @Kyo is taken.
-
I'm going to have to go with Alazne, my MA/Shield scrapper. She's a Kick Chick for sure. xD All of her costumes are designed primarily to show off her greatest assets...and weapons. :P
Hmmm, I need some kind of Chun-Li inspired costume for this... <thinks> -
I am SO there. Character and trope TBD, but save me a spot for sure. Wouldn't miss this one for anything.
-
Happy 101st birthday, Red...
What? That's how old it told me she is! :P -
Pending being dragged off to yet another baseball game by my family, I'll be there with bells on.
I still have a friend who needs a Layladoll. >:3 -
I love the way these pictures are staged. It's like each one tells a little story. Layla, how did you get so darn creative?! And where can I get some of that?!

Quote:Street Justice is a combo-centric melee power set for all the melee archetypes(Brute, Scrapper, Stalker, Tanker). All the powers have their own secondary effect as opposed to other sets like Dark Melee that focuses on to-hit de-buffs. Most of the set's powers and combo points that make your Finisher powers stronger. This isn't the same as dual blades in that it's not going toward a buff, but almost like a Rogue in WoW. Street Justice is mostly Smashing and Lethal damage and the attacks are punches and a couple kicks with some lighting effects.
I'm actually really looking forward to this. I've got two MA scrappers already (one using primarily the kicking animations, the other using mostly punching animations) and while I've tried Kinetic Melee, there's something about all that handwaving I can't really get behind. Another kicking/punching set with a different feel to it might be just the thing for me. -
Dangit Vorac, that doesn't even rhyme, but I'll help anyhow. When and where?
-
Quote:I mean, I understand those who want to have better opportunities for teaming and engaging in the activities they enjoy (say, RPing or PVP), but to then take the time to come back on the Protector boards to complain about Protector's shortcomings is much less comprehensible.
Now Stale, you know we have a perfectly healthy (okay, slightly demented) roleplaying community here on Protector...and yes, we PvP in character. 'Cause we're cool like that. B)
I will admit I don't play on other servers. I've tried. I tried Virtue back when people were telling me there was no rp on Protector. It was scary. I didn't like it. So I corralled a few Virtue folks and lured them back to Protector with me. I think they like not being terrified to go to Pocket D-and 'scaring the wildlife' is always fun (and impossible on Virtue unless you get REALLY lucky).
When CoH: Freedom and the free character transfers come out, however, I may transfer some of my higher-level toons that I rarely play to other servers just for the heck of it. I wouldn't mind having the occasional option of jumping over to another server to help out someone from the N P C channel or meeting some of the characters my friends have made on other servers.
But I'm a homebody at heart and Protector is my home. Other servers? Scary places, man. Scary places.
