Hmm, this won't help much with the Shadow Shard TFs, since on some of those you could knock out some of the missions without the team there. It's tough to get 8 people on at one time for the duration of a few of those.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please can the minimum team size of the Shard TF's in particular be examined.
An adjustment to 6 should be at least seriously considered.
Manticore should also be tweaked down from 7 to 6.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. This really is more of a hardship for those Shadow Shard TF's especially Quarterfield, which is WAY too long and it's very difficult to get 8 people to commit that much time. I know I've helped teams get these TF's started, and when the "help us get it going" warm bodies left the TF, the remaining team had 4-6 players.
Making an 8 team requirement is fine on shorter Task Forces, but the marathons really should allow smaller teams without any sort of penalty. -

I was scared that I was going to be scooped due to my slow copy and pasting skills!
[/ QUOTE ]
I bought an internet time card and ran across the street on my break! I wanted this more than you!
[/ QUOTE ]
So... wait... let me make sure I understand.
$10.00 for some costumes and emotes you can use until there's no game to use them in is too much. Going across the street and paying for interenet you already pay for at home, just so you can post about this ASAP is a reasonable use of money.
Did I get that right? Because they both sound a little funny to me, but I think the second one has the clear edge on crazy. -

Does anyone use "/ignore_spammer"? Sorry if this has been discussed, i only read thru the first 10 pages..
Advice has been given to /petition a spammer, but I was given the impression that /ignore_spammer asdf was a quick and easy way to petition..
I'm not gonna /petition every email and spam i get, but usually I /ignore_spammer most of um..
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, we use "/ignore_spammer." And yes, it petitions automatically. The request to ignore AND petition is old and outdated. -

if this is how the weekend is gonna go, I want 3 days added to my account. Otherwise I will cancel on Monday. There is no reason to lock paying customers. It's not our fault you supposedly upgraded servers. It seems your upgrade was someone coding in a player cap.
[/ QUOTE ]
Interesting. Last time there was a double XP weekend, which was before server transfers, people complained because the lag was so bad on Freedom that they couldn't play.
They fixed that and you still complain. Damned if you do and all that.
There is no way to make servers have great performance and an unlimited number of players. It's not a posibility.
Would you rather they ban people from transfering to Freedom or creating new characters there? You don't think that will make other people mad? Or is it ok if those people get mad, as long as you get what you want?
Here's the thing... did anyone not know that Freedom has the highest population and that this event would bring more players online over the weekend? Are you going to tell us that there was nothing you could have done to prevent this on your own? Like tell your friends, "Hey, in case the server gets too full, maybe we should make some alts someplace else." Justice is often down when I want to play. So I have characters on different servers. Freedom was not locked all the time. You could have played part-time there and part-time elsewhere. Is that idea? No. IS there an "everyone is happy, this is perfect" solution? NO. There is no such thing.
I'd love to see how all the "I won't give you my money anymore" people would set up a business model to make their wildest dreams come true. No one can please all of the people all of the time and you're fooling yourself if you think they can of if you think you could somehow manage to do it yourself. You may be playing a game, but it operates on real world limitations.

At least this one is a thread worth bringing back.

I hope this doesn't sound pessimistic (I have no reason to think this will negatively impact the game), but what do the following parties have to gain from this deal?
NC Soft
Cryptic
The Players
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok I'm completely guessing here, but here are my theories:
NC Soft - More control over one of their most succesful properties in the US. Less complication over royalties if they decide to offer multi-game pricing.
Cryptic - Money, more time to focus on their other projects (MUO)
The Players - Hopefully more development resources and better pricing
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, except for the pricing. I doubt that will change, but I am looking forward to what might. We've often seen the words "that requires too much time/manpower" or "that's lower down on the list of priorities." If they get more money, they can hire more people do do more things. Customize more thing, add more QoL changes, more content, etc. Yay! -
[ QUOTE ]
I do however have to hope that NCsoft doesn't decide that they need to make major changes to CoH - its a good game *now* - it can be better yes; but I fear the possibility of "WoWitization".
[/ QUOTE ]
Since they bought the game and are keeping the Dev team of a successful game, I can't imagine why they'd want to put their noses into the development and make too many changes. If they're smart, they'll simpley let the Dev team do what they do so well, only with more money, more people, and more support. -
I think this is a great move. At any given time there are many people in CoH General and the posts change often. When I check the villain side, it's the same posts - untouched - for hours on end. And some people get no response on the Villain side and then post the same thing on the Hero side.
This isn't about the GAME merging , it's about the forums. -

So, what you're saying is that.... you got beat by a girl.

I know some who'd argue that's the best way to get beat. I'm just sayin'. -

Ah, there I go again, spelling words correctly.
[/ QUOTE ]
What are you doing using the British version anywho?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't that funny? I think we ditched the king and went "And you know what? Screw all your extra letters, too! We don't need two Ls in stuff! And what's with the u in 'colour?' No way we're putting up with that! And just to REALLY stick it to you, we're going to rearrange the last two letters of 'theatre' and call them toh-MAY-toes. So there!" -

Actually, it's Somber Traveler.
(Yes! Teh Boyfriend has finally been outed! )
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, there I go again, spelling words correctly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, though his name has one "L," you're both right about the word. "Traveler" is correct, according to Merriam-Webster, and "traveller" is an accepted variant, like canceled/cancelled. -

The Justice Server Group Photo. Can't remember who all was in it.

That is:
Front: Mad_Malkavian
Middle: Neutra, Manoa's boyfriend (He doesn't post and I can't remember his character's name), Manoa, Ashley, Armless Dan
Back Row: Texas Justice, DiscoChild -
Yeah, the audio is really good, considering how loud it was in there! Nicely done. Thanks for posting that. I was too busy talking to pay attention while I was there.

Hello, everyone!
If you're still in town, some of us are meeting for breakfast tomorrow. We'll be meeting at the Dave and Buster's parking lot at 11:00 am. Look for us near the entrance by a blue flagpole. -
[ QUOTE ]
That was Miss Informed, not me. I just got home. See you tomorrow and I had a great time too!
[/ QUOTE ]
And I live 2 miles from the bar we were just left. -
For anyone who missed us tonight, we're going to be meeting at the flagpole outside Dave and Busters Satruday at 11:00 AM and will go to brunch together. Hope to see you there!
-
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, how's this for Friday night then?
Meet at the Dave & Busters flag pole at 7:30pm and figure out how many cars we'll have so we can go eat/pub crawl?
Sound ok?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll be there, too. If there are a lot of us, we may want to consider Bucca Di Beppo, the family-style Italian place that's right next door. -
Here's mine.. I'm a button clicker, and I having my health bar way up in the corner often meant I didn't pay enough attention to it. (My first character was an Empath, and I was watch the team health bars all the time, which included mine. As soon as I played something else, I forgot to pay attention at all.)
I moved it closer to my powers and it's been much easier for me to keep an eye on it there.
I also like having my enhancement tray open all the time, so I can see if I get something I can use or if I should be selling or deleting something if I'm not at a point where I can get to a store. -
I'll be there! Anyone else can PM me for an address/directions to Pok-E-Jo's.
I also like The County Line for dinner. We have a lot of Tex-Mex places, but there are also some good interior Mexican places around. -

I'd gladly throw my Ohioan barbeque up against Texan barbeque. Sorry, Texans, you don't have the market cornered on understanding flame and spice.
[/ QUOTE ]
O rly? Which of the major styles does Ohio favor? If it's some variant, it's certainly not publicized well enough to be seen on the regular BBQ TV shows. I understand that Ohio is the seat of the Five-Way Chili Heresy, though....
[/ QUOTE ]
I said MY barbeque. I'm from Ohio, hence it's MY Ohioan barbeque. I don't subscribe to schools of thought when it comes to barbeque, as that leads to stagnation. Take from here, borrow from that, adjust by using this method...
I grill. It's what I do.
[/ QUOTE ]
And that word is what makes all the difference. Grilling is not barbeque. It's good, sure. But it's not the same as meet slow-cooked at a lower temperature with wood instead of coal. -

I suck at influencing people
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, Pffft. I can't tell you how many times you made me smile simply by saying hello to me, just out of the blue, in whatever zone I happened to be in. I didn't attend a lot of Hami raids, but nearly every single time I did, I'd be hanging around feeling confused or, more often, bored, and suddenly I'd see "Hi Miss!" in local and I'd feel better.
So, yes, you influenced me, and often when I'm in a zone and run across someone I don't know very well other than from the forums or a global channel or whatever, I say hello. Just because I remember how it made me feel when you said hello to me. -
[ QUOTE ]
I hear if you bribe them with foods not found in California they will come. But try finding a food not found in California.
[/ QUOTE ]
As a person who moved to Austin, TX from the Bay Area in CA I can tell you this: I didn't know what real barbeque was until I moved out here.
We should send them a teeny tiny box of Texas Barbeque and tell them they can't have more unless the come to Austin.
(Works both ways, though. No one out here can make really good Sourdough bread, either. Sure, they LABEL things Sourdough... but it's not. It's a mere facsimile.) -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think I'll ever be able to attend any sort of get together in real life because I'd wouldn't be able to decide whether to go as BAB the dev or as my main character and be able to hang out with friends/SG mates.
[/ QUOTE ]
Simple! The next Meet and Greet should be TWO days long and you can spend one as each. -
[ QUOTE ]
LH, for those of us who are adults and have been having our Credit Cards legitimately billed recurringly since joing the game, will we have to be concerned with an "Interruption of Service" over this issue?
[/ QUOTE ]
Some people have aleady complained about this, so yes, it's a valid concern. I'll link one thread in a minute, if I can find it.
Edit: Here is the link.
One person I know had trouble with Bank of America, but my monthly billing has continued to go through without issue, even after I added a second account. I think some of the people who've experienced this have had issues when the annual bill came though, but I haven't heard of it happening to someone with monthly billing... yet.
