This is SO true in my experience. It is one of the great features of this game. If you can play competently a whole new level opens up regardless of your sets.

I MinMin nailed it. I will add that your fire imps will make a big difference as well. They draw off some aggro and add a ton of damage. You just need 12 levels before you get them.

Seems like it should do fine. Earth has so many nice control options and I think you've caught the best. Perma is nice but not necessary, especially on an earthie. The only changes I would make is to find a way to get stamina at 20 (personal preference). Doms are much more fun with some endurance. And I agree with Spikey...I would have taken water spout. It's a great power.

As another Level 50 Fire/Thorns I agree with Jim. It is a great Farming build. It is big damage and fast moving. Certainly endurance can be an issue. For that reason I chose to go with the Sirocco Patron Pool for Power Sink. In addition I have built quite a bit of recharge into the build to make domination available more frequently. Not Perma Dom but close. Between these two powers I always have a full bar of endurance waiting to happen.

Quote:I agree with Jade on the first part. As a Dom expect to get your hands dirty. Your biggest damage is dealt in close proximity. I disagree on the second part in some circumstances. True there are doms who are more effective at divide and conquer (my earth/Elec and Mind/Psi are examples of this.) But other sets and combos are all about destroying the mob wholesale. With my Fire/Thorns I prefer to keep the mob tight and leverage my AoE options. I have heard that the same is true for Fire/Psi. I think the approach you use depends largely on your sets. That has been one of the things I have loved about doms. Each combination of powers opens an entirely new playstyle. The best way to play a Dominator is not as a controllery Blaster or a blastery Controller, but as a controllery Blapper or a blastery Scraptroller. You've GOT to get in and mix it up in melee, unless you're /Fire, and even then getting close to the foe can help.
And trying to take on large groups isn't really a lot of fun either. A Dominator is more of a stealthy subtype, only without the actual stealth. Using your holds or even soft controls to divide up the foes and throw them into disarray, though, will help you single them out. You're not really a heroic type, you're a sneaky, take advantage of any opportunity type. -
Fire/Thorns is my favorite toon to date for the reasons above. It has great synergy.

Thanks for the feed back...I had a lousy scanner, and so the levels came out funny. I could be just a little ignorant as to how to use it. Bram I would help you out, But without Photoshop or illustrator, I couldn't clean up any of the artifacts left from the sketching process. It is a cool picture though. I think it will look awesome when done.

Since I been haunting the forum and lurking the various posts, I decided I should actually post something myself. Having looked at a few of the things others had inked, I figured I would give it a shot.
This is my inking attempt on Barbedwire Bob my wife level 50 Spines Dark Scrapper. http://greenemesis.deviantart.com/ar...Inked-66871699
I don't have illustrator so I didn't apply color. I would be interested in seeing what this would look like in color. Here are the reference shots I worked from. http://greenemesis.deviantart.com/ar...rence-67029818
Any inking tips from more experienced hands would be appreciated. -
Living in Green bay For a couple of years myself, I would recomend giving a call to Hobby Lobby to see if they carry any. They tend to have a little bit of all sorts of stuff. I doubt JoAnnes would carry them. Otherwise the internet is a great source for this sort of stuff. I prefer the Microns at about $3 a pop.

You have got to be awefully pleased with how this picture is developing. I'll be eager to see the final result.

I especially like how the first, the Irish Phantom, turned out.

Not knowing your process it looks like a real good start. The guitar neck of course would be straightened and perhaps the plucking fingers reviewed as you tweak it. I don't think that I would add any thigh. It seems to me like perspective-wise you wouldn't see them. But as it is your vision, take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
