Quote:Scooped back on Page 5.While I still enjoy the show quite a bit, I did find these images to be quite funny. And spot on.
More here. -
I'm not a hardcore Gleek... in fact, I'm thinking about giving up on the show. The major plotlines usually make no sense, and the musical numbers have dropped significantly in quality from the first two seasons.

This is a complaint as old as the game (but before instead of Incarnate Trials, it was TFs that made people feel weak), so obviously there is something to it.
I wonder if we're more susceptible to this problem because we're supposed to be super heroes. Or do people in Fantasy MMOs complain that it takes 25 people to take out a Dragon or Lich King even at max lvl?
I know I definitely feel weaker in other MMOs, when one minion can take me out. I think the one hero == three minions rule still holds up even on the low end here, so that could be what's creating this expectation of power. -
I like it when GP goes all "I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn. Go back to the Shadow! You shall not pass!" on someone.

Now that they rolled back the most egregious changes, I can get my clothes back and retire to my sumptuous villa in Fanboiville.
Catch you on the flip side, Flux! -
Looks like a Bad Guy to me, keeping the town in line for the Queen. Of course, maybe he's playing his own angle, but he has Emma's name and that can't be good...

I think this is because CoX is a fundamentally different MMO. The Devs are easing us into the "Live to Raid, Raid to Live" mode, but this isn't what the playerbase ever wanted. CoX was the game without phat lewtz and raiding. Now that we're getting used to Raiding 4 Lewtz, they want to take away our lewtz... we're getting mixed messages!

Quote:At the very least, Andrea was walking out of sight of the rest of the group, which seems ridiculously stupid given that she doesn't have a firearm. I figured if you were doing a search, you'd want to remain in sight of the people on your left or right and spread out enough to cover some ground.1) walking in the woods, the blonde is with the group one second and literally moments later is being chased by a walker but it takes the group like 5mins to get to her. Maybe it was a play on time, perhaps seemed to her like it took forever even though it was only seconds...idk.
Also, that was a pretty Ninja zombie... no sound until he was right on top of her. I get the dramatic reason for putting her in danger again (so she can be pissed at Dale again and become even more unstable), but I think it was handled in a ham-fisted way. -
Quote:It shouldn't be off the table. Why are these particular powers gated by 15 Emp fees? Are they empirically better than existing powers? A Smashing Judgement? I doubt it.I would really prefer no outside requirement to unlocking a branch I already have, but I guess that's off the table.
It just doesn't make sense, and I don't see any reason to buy these new powers. -
Quote:True, but nothing can be brought from Empyrean Mike without Emps, and there is currently no way to earn Emps aside from completing Trials. I don't think the Devs want to open that can of worms.I don't think so. If you go by unlock cost we have 10 astrals or 3 empyreans for the same thing. Which means 3.3 astals for 1 emp. If we go by thread cost 1 emp= 20 threads and 1 astral = 4 threads. Which means 5 astrals for 1 emp. Thus I suggested 6, which has 1 as a "sink." Even at 10 astrals for 1 emp, it could potentially be worth it in some cases (chars with bad rng luck or who want to get an extra emp for a recipe or an unlock).
Also, if you map out the cost of Rares and Very Rares without using Emps you'll get a much more unfavorable ratio. -
It would be a crazy buff... if they did give us an Astral to Emp conversion it would be more like 20 or 30 to one or worse.

Speaking of last night's episode: can we give up on Sophia yet?
Two days in the woods where we know random Walkers are stalking and she hasn't been found. I think she's gone. Which means her mother won't be around much longer either, by way of direct check-out or abandoning the group to search for her daughter.
I hate to say it, but I'm warming up to Shane... putting his life on the line for a chance to save Carl says a lot. -
Quote:When was the last time we had a long-form post-zombie apocalypse TV show? I believe the originality (despite the fact that it's based on a comic book) is what makes the show interesting.I wasn't really referring to you. I just get a sense from all the attention it gets from the internet and the media that folks are buying into the notion that this is the "it" show now. And I can't figure why that is, beyond some of the makeup effects. It's not particularly well-written, directed, or acted, and most of the characters aren't very interesting.
For the record, I did think the first season was well directed and acted... the writing may have been a little lacking.
The second season may have some pacing problems (as well as the consistency issues mentioned above), but we're only two episodes in. -
This sounds like a case of trope over-analysis. Every story in existence uses these, and since it's a horror/drama the tropes will tend to clump up along certain axes.
The second season has some issues, but I don't think overusing tropes is the main cause. The writers just need to be more consistent about the rules they set up (can zombies smell or not... are they attracted to loud noise, etc.). -
Quote:ftfyGP. You seem like a good guy and have been trying to play peacemaker on this forum forever, which is cool.
Quote:Also, as far as the Masque thing goes, sack-riding another player is pathetic. Unless it's an SO that plays the game, then it's pretty much a given that you have to make toons that have pretty much the same name... -

Where's Nabiki?
EDIT: Nevermind... here she is:
Nice. -
Flux, I'd like my old room back in Doomopolis, please.
