First, LOVE storm.
Second:
Was grouped last night on MY Earth Storm. Doing some AE (NOT 'bubbles') and was with a Storm/rad defender! What a great combo!
Team leader asked, "Do we need a healer?". To which the STORM DEFENDER REPLIED, "Yes!"
I said that storm defenders were great at protecting teams, but she claimed 02 Boost wasn't enough (but, don't worry folks, she picked up the medicine pool!)
She didn't use a single rad blast power. All she died was follow us along and cast O2 boost, Stimulant and Aid other. I tried to drop a few hints but to no effects. I quit because I just couldn't take it. -
I wanted to bump this, as I am hoping to say goodbye to Propel forever!
-
Personally, while leveling, I find having either Lift or Propel for additional damage/mitigation is useful.
I also highly recommend Siphon Speed from kinetics. -
Well, thanks for the answer, but didn't need the snarky tone.
The internet ain't what it used to be! -
K, had to ask because this has been bugging me for awhile.
45% defense is the soft-cap for *even con minions*, correct? So anything else (ex: lts, bosses, AVs, GMs, including +1 minions) would require additional defense to reach the cap?
So wouldn't having a bit more be a good thing, as very few people fight only even cons on teams? -
QR:
There is *no* penalty for 're-draw' animations. The cast times will be exactly the same whether you have to redraw a weapon or not.
This was recently in the 'Myth thread' in the general forum. -
Harsh much?
But end draining IS more viable in PVE than PVP. Your strongest drain powers are Transfusion and Transference in Kin and you can use Tesla cage to keep their recovery down while getting a few blasts in between (which are better off being slotted for damage). If you get a short circuit off, ten points! -
I have a Fire/Sonic at the same level.
I personally would keep Ring of Fire as you level and strongly encourage all controllers who intend on soloing to keep their single target immob for damage.
Hotfeet really doesn't need a 'slow' in it as if you are using it for damage the mobs will be contained and won't be going anywhere.
I personally haven't slotted my single target shields yet as I have needed my slots elsewhere; those slots could and should go into Flashfire to make it recharge faster; you'll notice a huge difference in its usefulness when its up more often. I do intend on slotting up the shields soonish but they are not my controller's primary form of damage mitigation.
Bonfire is rather nifty but not worth slotting for damage. I tried doing so on my Fire/Rad and really got unimpressive results. While the power does excellent damage overtime it is spread out over 45 seconds which is quite long.
I also don't see clarity in your build; is this mostly a solo build? Its a very handy power to have... you maybe want to ditch Tactics for it. -

4.) Force Bubble's one of the goofiest powers the devs ever designed. It's nucking futs to think that the single target heavy hitters, like Cosmic Burst, don't have the base range to reach out FB's edge

It's my believe that Force Bubble was the devs' attempt to create a "Wall of Force" power, a barrier that foes could not penetrate that could be used as a shield by the team. Unfortunately, there is no such barrier, and thus the mechanism of repel had to be used in its stead.
Therefore, because of the speed of movement of most foes, the time between tics of the repel, and the possibility that a foe may be resistant, it has to have such a huge radius because that is the only way to ensure it will keep foes out of its center 99% of the time. This is, to my mind, the largest flaw with the concept. (Now, if it slowed foes trying to enter it, it could be a smaller radius...)
I agree that Castle would never introduce any major changes, but minor tweaks, like adding DefDebuff resistance to the existing bubbles, shouldn't cause any "cottages".

Then, logically, it sounds like Force Bubble should have a large - range component such that targets outside the bubble could NOT reach those inside the bubble. This effect could be turned off for PVP.
Targets would be pushed away and due to decreased range would be unable to hit those in the center. Taadaa, pseudo wall of force, no?
