I'm not going to chase their fuggin merits.
[/ QUOTE ]
On this point we are in perfect accord.
[/ QUOTE ]
I quite agree. Why grind needlessly when the Market provides?

If a significant percentage of players adopt that attitude, the Market will not provide. Or rather, the Market price for certain goods (Pool C and D) will greatly increase. -

Any new players to COX that happen to get in on a regular Eden team only to see their reward is 2 freaking merits for their time invested is going to be sorely disappointed. This goes for several of TF's/trials as well, but Eden is the most obvious example.
RIP Eden Trial

They will not be disappointed if they do not know any better.

Oh, I do question some of the Dev's price points however:

Really?

Maybe people buy a lot of those. For some odd reason. Or Posi had a spasm when he was typing that one in. -

Would combining 3 small reds into a medium red that you bought from a level 5 trainer be more cost effective than just buying a medium red? I never really thought of that.. Of course there could be some price staggering to change that...
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably, since you can only buy mediums and larges from other players (except for the bounty trade-in thing in Siren's Call). -
Because people would buy a tray of purples/reds, then combine combine combine until they had larges, and repeat until they had as many large purples/reds as possible, then go and WTFOwn everything even quicker than they do now. Incidentally, that is why Kora fruit got reduced from larges to mediums.
Edit: When I first heard about Insp. combining, I thought it was going to be 3 smaller to 1 larger. The current way makes less sense, but I see why they felt they had to do it like this. -

Considering that we've had the Alt-Tab crash since for ever... I doubt it will ever get fixed, which means no PlayNC launcher or voice clients for us.... ever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, since Windows XP. I Alt-Tab all the time in Win2k, and never have it crash. Unfortunately, Win2k has performance issues when dealing with fire or dark effects.
You can get around the Alt-Tab issue by running Co* Windowed (Menu > Options > Graphics and Audio > Screen Resolution, set to Windowed at the bottom of the list). Although, you will lose some screen space to the borders. -
Awesome! I missed the initial invasion, and love the "mini" invasions from successful LGTFs.
Thank you, Team CoX!! -

I heard everyone who played a /regen to 50 eventually died of cancer. True story.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because Chuck Norris hates wusses. And since /regen is the wussiest of scrappers, and arguably of blasters (or was it defenders?), Chuck hates /regen even more.
Since single-handedly beating cancer (I hear he actually had BOTH tied behind his back), Chuck was given the power of cancer, to weed out the weak, pathetic, and wussy!
Thus, since Chuck hates wusses, and /regen is probably the wussiest wuss ever, Chuck gives all /regen players cancer, sooner or later (when he's not too busy roundhouse kicking stuff). -
Fire/Kin + Spines/DA = MASS CARNAGE with minimal stress. SB every couple minutes, and FS right after jumping the Scrapper into the middle of a spawn (I often only do it every 3rd spawn, when the previous FS is about to wear off).
Emp and any direct damage toon is pretty good too (and little bit safer). Just throw Fort, AB, RA's (when they are available), and CM if the damager doesn't have mez protection. Then go to town on the enemies.
The other thing I've done on stuff like AV's, is take a tank (preferably Stone/) and put it on auto-taunt, use a high damage toon, and a Shivan for debuffs. Or take a debuffer and put whatever I can on auto/toggle, and use a Shivan and tank for damage(which also keeps the AV/GM, etc, taunted off the debuffer).
If you were triple boxing, you could even try running three blasters (on normal missions), and just nuking each spawn. You might even be able to do it with 2, with extreme amounts of recharge bonuses. Although, if you had all three aoe each spawn nearly simultaneously, you could probably do pretty good too (even faster than nuking, though a bit more dangerous). Just take Medicine pool for minimal downtime, and the occasional defeat.
If I thought about it some more, I could come up with many more combinations, both cross AT and intra AT and even hero+villain combos (Brute + Kin could pass up Sp/DA for MASS CARNAGE, and Poison or Tap MM + Rad Def(or even Ill/Rad would annihilate AV's). -
Too much work.

I've been running CoX on a Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB card, and until i8, it has run great (except for Grandville, which seems to give most people trouble). Now it seems the new graphics for several powersets overload my card and my fps takes a dump.
It's been a great run, and this card has been very good to me over the last 4 years. However, I see a GeForce 6800GT or 7600GT in my future. -
I find LF to be very useful against 2 or more enemies (and it recharges fast enough that I can turn it off between fights if I run a bit low on end). It not only helps build fury, since the mobs stay attacking me instead of someone else, but also saves endurance by finishing off the last bit of health (over 2 or 3 ticks usually), where one of my main attacks would be overkill ( SS primary). Of course, the more mobs I fight at once, the faster it helps me defeat them, compared to just using my click attacks (as long as I don't overdo it and end up defeated).
Currently, I have Grounded for the added Neg. Energy resist, and the fact that it is an auto power. However, I may respec into Acrobatics for PvPing (I hate to lose it, but can't find anything else to drop except maybe Foot Stomp).
