Yup, very good raid. First time for me, certainly proved that it truly is impossible to defend a base.
I also enjoyed the rather odd bug, placing us in the EVIL base under friendly conditions. Rather confusing, but it did make for some enjoyable taunts

Yeah that was a good bug
When you guys started to appear it really did confuse us. Immediatly double checked our coalition alliances to see if you sneaked in that way. Gave up trying to figure how you did it and went straight in with the taunts.
P.S. Bases might be defendable if your defenses work -
Well tonight was another good laugh. Managed to have 4 raid this time which unsurprisingly ended 2 a piece. These raids have certainly given me afew ideas. Must say Dr Deaths tactics in the last raid were very dirty. I wont say what they were as it be a nice surprise to other bases you decide to raid.
Our next raid is against Art of War same time (Sunday 12th, 19:00 GMT meet up, 19.30 raid). -
Just a quick question really. When you are raiding someone elses base does it teleport you to a particular place e.g. the entrance room or is it always random? I am trying to make my base more defendable but the attackers seem to spawn in different locations.

Well I sure as hell wouldnt fight him, he is very very good.

Yeah but it is all rock/paper/scissors. You can be the best rock in the world but paper will beat you. -

I certainly couldnt see hidden + stealthed stalkers on my defender last night, got so bored chasing shadows i almost fell asleep. Anywho, I quite like the idea of defenders being able to see stalkers if they have gone out there way to do so. And its not like a defender will easily kill a stalker 1 v 1, most of my stalker battles have me zapping away for 5 minutes listening to insults like "haha, you have to be kidding" or, "omg, your damage is so lame u noob", before the stalker gives up or a team mate assits. A few anti-stalker nerf arguments centre around the role of the stalker AT, the role of a defender is to defend the team, something they are far more capable of doing if they can see the stalker. And no, i dont think it would break the stalker AT, just force them to team and use a better strategy than lumbering up beside someone and twiddling there thumbs while looking for there AS power. (that was to the poster that raised the issue of defenders seeing his stalker, forget the name).
[/ QUOTE ]
I teamed with you last nite with my controller and with IR goggles I could see them. But like you said I couldn't really do much about it, damage wise did bugger all. However, I didn't get AS'd.
I wont argue with the role of a defender. What I would argue is we need to know if something has been changed. You yourself dont seem to think anything has been changed but im not so sure. You seemed to see me more than usual. I want to know do we have to change our tactics and strategies (and maybe powers). -
We didnt last long did we lol.
Nice to team with ya even though it was fairly brief. My blaster hadn't been used in a very long while. Im glad I left him in such tip top shape - enhanacements all green and inspiration tray full of awakens and respites -

The Demons & Vengeful Spirits would like to give us a base raid this Sunday at around 7. Hopefully we have quite afew people online to give them a good challenge.

Well they'd better get in line! :P
I'm a member of the Violators SG, and last I heard WE were raiding your base on sunday around 7! Or did you perhaps get our names mixed up? ;-)

Put it in bold, that raid was last Sunday. We managed to hold Demons & Vengeful Spirits off for what seemed like ages. Huge mass battle in the last room but too many brutes and they eventually got the last anchor they needed. Our raid on them was over in 2 mins
Some of the team didn't even get the chance to get in. Team 1 went straight in and I for one was surprised they had defences. Got nuked, back to hosp and then couldn't teleport in. Apperently a couple of the team (probably brutes) managed to take down there anchor(s). It ended 1 a piece. -

He is more of an solo toon but after seeing how you play in pvp I would love to part of your S.G. as you seem to have the right idea about pvp its for fun not to prove that your better than any one else.
[/ QUOTE ]
Proving that you are the best is fun also
Be great to have ya aboard. I wont be on during the morning or afternoon but should make an appearance during the evening (more than likely in sirens) -

One born every minute
Looks like Demons & Vengeful Spirits have got ridden of all there coalitions members so have a spare slot. Any decent s.g's perhaps wanting to a coalition with ourselves? -
I really hope this stuff is wrong. Ive noticed a def difference in my stealth with hide. I am being spotted whereas before I was fine. When I did a test I was spotted easily. Now not sure whether this was because I was attacking a defender so his powers would give a good boost to perception.
The AS thing I could live with. The stealth not stacking seems abit harsh. Having spent alot of time in Sirens you can see the heros having adapted very well to stalkers. Heros are far more organised and are aware of the threats. Stalkers are definitely having to earn there rewards. I hope this rumour is wrong and I was somehow mistaken (dont think I was though) as I dont see this nerf as a way forward. -
I try and bring afew people too. Don't know whether there be room for us as will not be a full 8 and may be some clashes but we see what happens.
-
It was really weird tonight as everyone seemed to take offense very quickly with things being said. Obviously something in the water ...
Didnt bother me, I take my large helping of debt and 6 SO's. As the evening progressed it did get alot better - heros and villains were still going at it with it very finely balanced (5/6 members a piece). We all signed off at 1.20 (got to love late nite pvp). -
[ QUOTE ]
1) We will break all current coalition ties (they serve no purpose other than to allow other SGs to look around our base before they raid us at the moment) and cold and myself shall create another SG with our current lvl 40's Doc Flame and Calisto.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't help but think that be a very bad move on your part. Coalitions serve more purposes than to use other peoples bases! By doing something like that you will limit your sg's teaming potential as well as access to knowlegde and help.
To keep in touch with your new alt sg you can make it one of your coalitions. To stop yourselves from spamming on coalition chat just make yourself a chat channel - that way can communicate with all your members and anyone else you may wish to.
Just my view and thought on the matter. At the end of the day its your sg, wont tell you how to run it. -

I would like to point out that you may get me with snipe. However, a team mate stalker would no doubt be rubbing his hands with glee as you are just stationed there (flying or not).
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't confirm it but based on some of the reactions from the ppl I've sniped I think you can shoot further than the shot can be heard - will need to test that on someone. My damage output isn't at its full potential yet; I've yet to get her SOs and she still don't have assault (she's only 21st lvl).
I have been taken down by numerous stalkers since this toon first entered SCs and the point of this thread was not to tout my uber stalker-hunter but to share with the community that its possible to build a non-controller toon that not only can fend off stalkers but can take the fight to them.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be honest there is quite afew builds that are good! Its due to skill and knowledge (and experience). If you come to sirens call on union and watch some of the PvP regulars you will see how difficult it can be (but I get an added buzz from the challenge).
There are sooooo many (it seems like that to me) builds that prevent the stalker doing his job and are able to take the fight to them. There is not one AT that cannot do it (build wise is different but then it should be). There are ways around it and im sure if you ask the regular pvp'ers, Stalkers are not as uber as many people believe them to be. -

BU+Impale+placate+AS/or an attack again
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm. Does impale stun or just toggle drop and -fly? I've yet to be impaled so don't know. It's that stun that's the problem, especially if I don't have a BF. If I'm not stunned then you're not going to get to use your AS, especially after the caltops go down.
But stalk-obot and you have raised an important point, I need to be able to execute a plan-B getaway. If I'm in melee range I'm fighting the stalker's fight and can't be having that so am considering 3 slotting swift and sprint.
[ QUOTE ]
3 slotted placate for range and 3 slotted impale for range and watch who snipes who
[/ QUOTE ]
It'll still be me sniping you2 slots for range on snipe should still give me a comfortable margin of error
[/ QUOTE ]
Impale will - fly and immoblise you (so you prob want get very far at all). -
The buff from the Item of Power can be more than that! In beta it was a 1% buff for each Item of Power but Im sure I read that it will be more than that (thus making it worthwhile).
However for me, proper base raids will ultimatley depend on the chances of the base being destroyed. Everything costs a fortune and I dont think I be willing to risk it all even for a 20% buff. -

[ QUOTE ]
oooh bad move, if you are flying you will be downed by impale
[/ QUOTE ]
You think I'm close enough for you to use it?Snipe has a VERY long range.
[/ QUOTE ]
I must say I am really enjoying my PvP'ing sessions at the moment. Its getting to the point that you have fought your enemy numerous times and thus know what they are gonna do/behave (this is making for some truely interesting and classic battles).

I look out for you, see if you can get this element of surprise. This stalker may surprise you ... it did me when it started taking down scrappers the other nite.

It doesn't look like I'll get the chance. You appear to be on Union.

Theres always test server, might have to set that up so can have a mass little battle. I then introduce myself to ya stalker style! -

Caltrops shouldn't work on me either as am resistant to slow. So in this example, you are grounded (cant fly), your caltrops have not affected me, its not looking to good for you .....
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, so caltrops don't work on you, fair enough. I can't argue the point since I don't know. What I do know is you're not going to know I'm there until I pull the trigger (cloaking device) and even after I do your impale isn't going to reach me
Not trying to suggest I'll beat u or anything at all. I'm just jazzed that at last I have a build that can stand up to a stalker (my main can only survive them, he can't
beat them) and I can now hunt the hunters

Hehe you can try but mostly you fail, mostly. Even if you do become a stalker hunter, you've got one last problem to overcome. You've got to catch me
All stalkers go through a special training school on the art of running away. As noted by many people, we do this often and its almost as fun as AS'ing someone
[/ QUOTE ]
No, sending you scurrying back to the safety of your base gives me plenty of satisfaction heehee. Seriously though. One of the nice things about AR is the victim doesn't know where the shot came from - so what way do you run? I spent a good few minutes running around the ledge of a building popping at villains without them having a clue where the damage was coming from
The stalker I popped had run away from the nearby heroes, around a corner and had started resting when i closed in to finish the job. Was using the stealth suit last night, but next time it'll be the cloaking device
Of course I could always throw down some caltrops and see how fast u can run through them
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the difference between a good stalker and a bad stalker. A good stalker knows his surroundings and is kind of aware of whose about - I for one look up into the skies for just that (and can bring ya crashing down with impale).
Caltrops shouldn't work on me either as am resistant to slow. So in this example, you are grounded (cant fly), your caltrops have not affected me, its not looking to good for you ..... -

Will it be in Sirens again this week?
-
Have we got much interest on the hero side (union) for this wednesday? Tonight managed to get 2 full teams for a base raid and will hopefully have the same sort of success for Sirens. However, there is no point in me bringing in cannon fodder (I mean crew) if there wont be too many heros. Is there any hero supergroups planning on trying to get aload of there sg to turn up?
-
Just another update really (its been awhile but thats because normally post stuff on our own E.V.I.L. forum. I suppose that makes me quite happy due to the fact alot of super groups websites I look at seem to be very quiet and underused.
Things are going very well - we have lots of members and a nice base. We are ranked in the union top 20 for sg's earning prestige (well done guys and gals) and as a result we have been able to upgrade our base a couple of weeks back. Our next goal is to save up the 1.5 mil of prestige needed to install our turbine generator (500 k to go).
For those interested in joining us please visit our website and leave a message or give me a tell/email. With the base coming along nicely having a taste for PvP (player vs player) would be advantageous as this is something I would like to do regulary.
It is encouraged to show your true loyatly to E.V.I.L. by using up one of your costume slots for our Sg Costume. At some stage I will organise a mass photo shoot of all of us in our sg cossie.
I am also trying to get as many of us onto a cool program called Xfire which allows you to communicate to people in game even if they are playing something different (handy for communicating and keeping in touch - can think of it as a easy way of expanding your global friends).
