I have seen it work. I have seen it not work. I have also seen some things show up on the map that don't appear to be intentional or as designed.

Quote:I also use Firefox for all my web browsing needs and it works just fine. However, the client links open IE. I've never seen or heard any way to change that.As for CoH having issues with Firefox, I've yet to ever run into any myself and I can happily follow links from the client launcher using Firefox. In my case though I'm still running Win XP. On the other hand, my roommate has no problems using Firefox for the same things either, and he's running the 64-bit Win7 just as you are.
To work around this, I simply have http://www.cityofheroes.com/updater/live.html set up as my Home Page so I can still easily access it from FireFox any time I want. lol -
Quote:Just occurred to me i saw one that wasn't on fire after seeing that message. Like you said, at least you know for next time.Quote:
The fire destroyed this elevator, you can't use it!
And had it suggested trying another, I would have ended up running all over the level trying to find another elevator room I must have missed.
At least I know for next time now. -

I was referring to his experience, not yours. I understand you verified first. I just didn't have any kind of actual response regarding why that would happen to you, which is why I quoted him, not you.
Tubbius specifically said "immediately" in his case, so I thought it warranted an explanation. -
Quote:That could also be because doing the extra search gives the server enough time to actually update the file, whereas immediately re-clicking edit (or even Play) can sometimes give you the previous version. One thing I've noticed for a long time is that after you republish an arc, if you want to make more changes, you'll want to search up the arc again (click "My Creations" and then search again, just to let them all flash up on the screen). THEN go in and hit Edit.
It seems like every time I've finished an edit, republished, and then immediately gone back to edit more without hitting "search" again that it wouldn't keep my changes in there properly.
Or maybe I'm just paranoid. -
I can agree with that one going either way as well. Like you said, it does have a reward of some kind nonetheless.
Doesn't that have a few costume parts with it as well as the Prestige Power Slide?
I guess I missed that one. Doh! lol -
Quote:Not for nothing, but there are still a few good groups of people here on Freedom as well. I'm not saying you are wrong about the population shift. I even have a few toons on other servers that I have been using lately, but this is still my home and I'm proud to help lead events here every week. If it suits the OP's schedule, they are certainly welcome any time. Now, would I recommend you start trying to play on Freedom server? Oh no. Not in a hundred million years.
.....
Now, what server would I suggest you start playing on? Well, pretty much every server has a group of good people. You'll probably need to actually go to each server and find one that suits you. -
Quote:The accolades from respec trials give you a RESPEC. lolNo, a lot of accolades don't give you anything or do anything. You can get 3 accolades from doing the respec trials - they do nothing. There are accolades for all the Safeguard or Mayhem badges - they do nothing.
In my opinion, the Arena All-Star Badge and Force of Justice are the only other one sthat fit's into the same category as Hell and Back. They round up a set of badges as completed, and nothing more. Every other accolade badge has a reward or power of some kind. Even the new neighborhood accolades grant 5 merits upon completion. -
People who have a better video card than he does. lol
On a side note, I think I have decided not to upgrade quite yet after all. I did some extra research on my existing card (an overclocked 9600gt), and it seems I wouldn't be gaining much at all with the 260. I'd go with ATI's 5770, except I'd rather run with all the new settings with a slightly lower framerate for free, than to pay almost $200 for a higher fps with some features off. If the AA/AO thing gets fixed, you can put me back on The List. haha -

Quote:What's the power requirement on that one? I'm looking to buy a new one as well, but it looks like I only have 2x19A available to work with on my rig unless i use 3 rails somehow. lol. I'll probably have to end up going with a Radeon 5770. Is it really much better than the NVidia 260 GTX SuperClocked?I've decided to go with this one.

Tabby's cousin on Champion would be glad to help ya. Just let me know when.

In Hazard or Trial zones, enemy groups tend to be much larger in number and closer together than City Zones. The way I see it, Trial zones usually contain Task Forces, Strike Forces, or Trials... Hazard zones usually have a GM lurking about somewhere from time to time. These zones used to require Security/Threat level clearance, but that is no longer true.

On top of earning XP while Exemplar'd, you also have access to 5 lvls worth of extra powers.
Using your example, you were EX'd to lvl 20, but should have had access to any powers you picked up to lvl 25.

Quote:Well I want to get this up and running this weekend so maybe I'll see what Best Buy has in power supplies.
If you go into Best Buy or another local retailer to get one, make sure to find out how many 12V rails it has, and what they are rated for. I'd probably aim for at least 45A to be on the safe side. -
I'm going to guess this may be your problem. I'm going to assume 12V1 is shared with the system and peripherals, with 12V2 possibly dedicated to video.
How did you even connect the video card to it? The specs only list 1 6pin PCIe Connector, and the card typically requires 2. Even if you used Y adapters to combine a bunch of peripheral slots together, they are still running off the same rails. Putting them both together only gets you to 33A total, which wont be enough for that card at full load.
I think a machine like this might turn on and operate just fine.. until you start gaming and turning on more preferences that requires it to work harder and use more power. Not enough power on a dedicated rail usually results in strange artifacts on the screen, flickering or black screen. Since you're using sharing power, the motherboard or other devices may be the ones shutting you down because the video card is trying to take all the power for itself. This might make it feel like it's a heat shutdown when it's really not.
Are you getting any error messages or prompts telling you why it's shutting down, or does it just go dead?
You might be in the market for a new Power Supply if you want to really utilize what that card has to offer.
But don't take my word for it.. Hopefully somebody else will chime in and give their opinion about it as well. -
Quote:I'm not sure, but your power supply should have a label on it somewhere that details it's Specifications. If you can't find that or don't know how to read it, try to get a model number so we can look it up for you.If the temperature max is that high what is shutting down my system? Hmmm. Does SpeedFan report the amps anywhere?
NVidia also lists the Maximum Graphics Card Power at 204W, and the Minimum Recommended System Power at 550W (which would go up depending on how many other devices you have in your rig). Link: GeForce GTX 285 (Click on Specifications)
I got the 42A value from a product on newegg.com, I suppose it could vary slightly by manufacturer recommendations, but I don't think it'd be much different. -
Quote:While that's true, it also specifies it have access to at least 42A on the 12V rails. What are your specs? Just because you have a 500W supply, does not mean it fits all the requirements.I have a 500 watt power supply which the card spec indicated was more than enough. I was running two 7950 GTs before
For example, even my 750W supply doesn't make it with four 19A 12V rails, 2 of them dedicated to video for a total of only 38A.
On a side note, I just checked the NVidia site and they list the Max Temp at 105C, so your current temp shouldn't be much of an issue. -

70C doesn't seem like it's that bad for that card. As you know, there are ways to make it better, but I don't think it should be shutting you down unless you have a third party program shutting you down based on a generic/default setting.
It's a stupid question, but I have to ask... Are you sure it's not a power issue? Using it for a little while might be putting too much load on the power supply and shutting you down. Did you ensure it can handle the new card before you upgraded? and/or is the card on it's own dedicated lines to get a strong clean power signal at all times? -
My only sugestion for this is to make sure you are using the same character that created them. I accidentally had some stuff stored on the wrong toon before as well.
If that's not it, then I have no other suggestion except /petition to see if support can find out what happened to them. -
Welcome back!
I remember Nurse Goodbody. I think we teamed quite a few times back in the day. Look me up any time, and check out our Freedom Horde's posts in here for weekly TF events.
See you soon.
