Ok, so I've followed advice and feedback and had some success. Any fine tuning?

I tend to play MA in two ways - for fun or just to grind some levels.

For Fun:

1) Choose a map that has 5 stars, lots of play, and sounds interesting.
2) Make sure it is higher level than me for auto-sk.
3) Set my diff to level 2 (so lowbies can join and still hit stuff)
4) "/b AE mission team LFM, auto sk to level 40 (or 50 or whatever) level 10-50 welcome, not going for uber xp/sec, just fun 8 man run"

For fast level runs:

1) Choose a level 50-54 mission so everyone can auto sk
2) Set diff to level 2 so we are not creamed by bosses
3) Read the mission text to make sure it is not crazy or exploit-ish (e.g. all Boss farm, UBER LEVEL FARM!, etc.)
4) Look for missions that are on more open maps with a normal minion/lt balance
5) /b AE mission team LFM, auto sk to level 50, level 10-50 welcome, not going for uber xp/sec but will focus on quick fighting

This seems to weed out the loonies who want to crank the difficulty to level 5 and then spend 30 minutes crying for a tank. It also seems to draw people that are more laid back and are willing to run with unusual teams for laughs.

Any advice on picking better missions?

Ah - so the Sk is determined by the rating of the mission - I had no idea. TYVM!

Sorry for the n00b questions, but I just want to be able to form my own MA teams. I'm confused about two things:

1) If I want to PUG a story based MA mission, is it best to look at highest rated? Dev Choice? I imagine some of the good 'farm' missions are highly rated so I thought Dev choice might be better.

2) How do I form my team? Does the mission set to my level so I can invite anone lower than me? I am level 39 so everyone gets SK'd to 38? Or do just some maps do that?

Sometimes I'd like to just see how a higher level power looks. Are there any sites / links that show off specific powers (e.g. Golden Dragonfly, etc.)?

If anyone is particularly inspired or bored today, I thought you might find it fun to help me make a new costume. The concept is an elec/elec brute. I envision her with a classic revealing spandex look (Ms Marvel, etc.) or perhaps using the new Magic Booster for a storm mage.

Since CoV lightning is red, I see her floating in out of this:

I have a bots MM I enjoy but it can be a little boring. I want to try something that is much more active. I was thinking about trying the melee style MMs (necro/ninja) since I need to constantly position them to be effective. Sounds like a nice change from Bots.

I played a necro/dark up to level 11 or so in CoV Beta. I liked it and did not mind using the Goto macro like mad.

I will 90% solo, 100% PvE. I like both sets thematically.

1) Suggestions on which to try? Zombie AoE puke sounds like they might be better for soloing small spawns - not sure.
2) Secondary? I was thinking of Pain Domination for something different and to keep my guys alive. I also enjoy TA. Want to avoid Dark since I have a D3 hero side. I hear Storm is great for necor/ninja but I am not sure why.

My fire/kin just hit level 38 - my highest level character. I've got my 33 month badge but alt-a-holism kept me in the low level game.

Anyhow, I know everyone says fire/kins just sail to 50 after they get FS, but how should I do it?

1) Farm groups together in Eden / Rikti War Zone? Aggro multiple groups in this zone and herd them?

2) Run Cimerora mission maps over and over due to the lack of stuns on the mobs there? Run maps to near completion and then reset them?

3) Continue doing 8 mans?

In the end I imagine I'll continue to do all three since they are fun for me, but I was curious about what people mean whan they say fire/kins go hog wild at 38+

I'd like to get at least one hero to 50 after so many years in game

I have a stone/stone that I love but has been very frustrating. Does not feel like a tank at all. A buddy of mine suggested just running solo until 22, then try to be a tank. I think that'll save me a lot of frustration.

Awesome information for a tanker n00b (i.e. me).

Question: what are your thought on tanker set maturity curves? As a new tank I find myself frustrated in the early game. My PUGs yell for me to lead since I am the tank - but with 3 TOs in a single toggle defense I am about as durable as a piece of cheese.

How do the sets mature? Which can tank groups early, which need to hit x level before they can tank large spawns? Advice on what you can and cannot handle as you level?

What about color palette? Everywhere I look (not just in CoH but in Marvel / DC) all I see are red, gold, blue. I was thinking orange/maroon since it is a bit different. Or going crazy and trying one of Nazghul's Color Palette Contest themes. Not sure yet.

For the first costume, yes. I may do a cyborg/armor later but for now I like the whole Ms Marvel thing.

Advice on inspiration? I've been looking at Ms. Marvel and She Hulk for comics inspiration and Invincibelle and some others for CoH inspiration. That should give you an idea of the type of costume I have in mind

I just got back into CoH to check out the AE and I am hooked. I'd like to form my own farm-ish teams for my level 13 troller.

Any advice on which maps work well for that?
