  1. Has anyone noticed shard drop rates being lower after slotting a Rare and Very Rare Incarnate Enhancement?

Also, it seems like the shard drop rates are signifigently lower today.

Honestly, controllers are a defense/defense build. They should, by design, protect a team better than a defender. It's unfortunate that defenders fixate on their AT name and ignore damage dealing.

I'm for boosting defender secondaries myself. Reduce END drain and increase base damage. Doesn't look like this is happening though. The new defender sets look very "controller-ish", much like dark/

    I have an Empathy/Energy Defender

I ignored my secondaries for a while and it bit hardcore. After I respecd my secondaries back to six slotted attacks I'm haveing alot of fun with my defender. To the issue of a defender not being needed at the high levels thats total BS. I don't know who you guys are but I can't logg into the game and solo without getting a ton of tells asking if I was up for some missions. If I wanted to solo I had to /hide and /ghide just to get some peace and quiet. I found that I just needed to balance out what powers I picked and didn't pick one shot powers that I would waste slots on. Nova is one of them. Emp defenders are not at a loss of a job. Bubbles get love too. The game is a challenge with a defender and what I like to do now is exemp down with mine to play with my friends and their alts. Its like having a healing blaster again.

Tanks still need defenders, I don't know what you guys have seen. Some of the many tells and invites I get are from a tank that needs a healer to follow them around.
  3. here is what my friend wrote on a different forum about the changes to CoH. We have both played since beta [ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I've been absent the last few days. My Secret Identity has been worked like a dog lately. Hopefully, this initiative won't maintain this pace too much longer.

After learning that all 5 of my toons are going to suffer the Speed Acc debuff very soon, well it is very discouraging. *sigh* I am not looking forward to spending hours and hours rebuilding to compensate these damn changes. Free respec is only a token gesture to try and keep the player base from quitting altogether. Me thinks this is just the start of many changes to come as they re-evaluate the ATs all over again. When will they choose something and stick to it??? Personally, I've noticed the melee ATs have become far too over powered compared to the other ATs. There are exceptions such as Fire controllers with Imps that can do almost as well as the melee ATs. But the vast majority of the other ATs can't even consider playing their missions on invincible. I rather think the invincible setting was intended to be used to increase the challenge presented to a full team.

I love CoH. But I don't love getting jerked around.

"Hey, let's play Monopoly. But let's change the house rules we used last night. Don't worry, you can pick them up as you go. If you make mistakes befre you get accustomed to the new twists in the rules, well that is just how it goes sometimes."

my thoughts exactly. I'm not promoting a mass exodus, but, after doing the three arcs in Striga I'm wondering what to do next. I have seen almost all of the game except for a few TF's and they really need to bring more.

    Soon.

After playing for a year+ I love the game, but, when every power that players love gets the nerf bat, it makes me want to high tail it off to another sweet spot. Each week we wonder, "what are the Devs going to nerf this time?".
  4. Oh man, my friend told me "Don't ready the Coh forums, they'll just piss you off" and he was right. I have two paying accounts, one that my wife plays and one that I play. We enjoy our friends helping us through some of those tough levels sometimes. Missions and storyarcs are tend to get real boring. After about August 04 I just stopped reading the stories. All I see on these threads, and on most of the Coh forum is a group of individuals complain about how detrimental Power Leveling is to the game. It's not detrimental to the game. Just like the Regen Scrapper issue, all this is doing is making alot of people mad at a change that isn't needed. Why would I pay $30 a month to keep my accounts open if I have to just play story arcs with a team, the entire time. This is such a cool game because of the flexibility that a character has to work with. The few characters complaining that another character is leveling too fast is detrimental to the individual game play. As the guidlines for playstyle get too narrow a person is less likely to roll another character to 50 because they have already gone through all the content. Even though we get updates that doesn't mean that I can go to Striga Island and do anything with my level 50 yet. I have to wait for an update that will let me go back and work with an old contact. Really the staying power of this game for me was the fact that I didn't have a set path to the "End Game" as you do with most console games. There are so many ways to get to the top. Eliminating flexibility is going to make more and more people move on to other games that provide the fun and wide range of playstyles that Coh currently provides. Placeing more restrictions on game play will have a negative impact on teams that enjoy playing. All this because of a few people on the boards shouting "Power Leveling is bad" or "Power Leveling cheapens the game". OMG guys, your lobbying to get a problem fixed that isn't a problem and its placeing more restrictions on how people are going to play. YOU are detracting from the appeal of the game, not the power levelers.
