  1. Fedor's looking a little down. I think we should throw m&ms at him until he cheers up.

  4. Took my dad, his girlfriend.......

    Hey, wait.

Why is it that my septuagenarian father has a girlfriend, and I'm stuck at home on Friday nights watching Spongebob? That seems very wrong to me. Very, very wrong....

    *sigh* But I digress.

I took my dad, his girlf..... no, seriously. What the hell is going on here? I mean, I'm not Brad Pitt or anything, but.... I don't get it....

    Anyways,
I took my dad, his girlfriend *grumbles*, and my sister out for dinner for Father's Day, and all went well.

    OTOH there's $150 I won't ever be seeing again....

I think we are all better off, however, keeping things like this out of the Rookery. That's not what this place is about. Let's start with a clean slate tomorrow and leave seriousness at the door.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I had made any attempt to accurately characterize what I think of GW denialism, this thread would have been mod-whacked posthaste, so I think Fedor's got the right idea. Leave this sort of thing elsewhere. Rookery threads are for a different kind of silliness.

G'morning all. The Wall Street Journal ran a hideous article on global warming today, full of wild generalizations and prophecies of doom. The thing is full of lines like "as the effects of global warming have worsened" and similar. As a result, I'll be spending my free time today writing up a well-reasoned and scientifically backed attack on it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ummmm, somehow I'm dubious, but if you can, it may well be a first, so good luck with that.

La llama es un quadrupedo. Tienes una frente, y un corazon, y un pico para comer meil!

Llamas tienen dientes grandes y son muy peligrosos

    Cuidado! Cuidado! Hay llamas!

And now, a man with a tape recorder up his nose.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Llama sketch Not quite the way I remember it, but close enough for Rookery. threads

    You have been warned!

Was yours related to a lot of low-sticking, too?

I've had my left one dislocated on a number of times, sprained the right... twisted'em and the ankles...

All because some people can't play fair and honest. :/

Are you at the point where you start wondering if you should just add freakin' escalators or elevators to your home yet? They should seriously make that stuff cheaper..

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was never much of a finesse player. Mostly mucking the boards and crashing the net. At one point I had a coach that forced me to learn how to skate. Skating better meant running into things a lot harder. The knees got abused by the boards, the goal posts, and other players.

Knees are pretty much ok now as long as I'm nice to them. The occasions when my back goes out (fortunately infrequent), do make me wish for an elevator up to the house though
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I dunno what I did to my leg last week. My knee isn't in terrible pain but my whole leg feels tight and there's a slight push under the cap.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Knees sure are fun, aren't they? I had to quit playing hockey when mine got to the point where I was in more or less constant pain, and could barely walk (I could skate, but not walk. Go figure). It was several years before something approximating normalcy returned, and my right kneecap still pops loose given sufficient provocation, which is a frightening and painful experience.
  15. Teh sadness....

I'll just go over in the corner and stick my head in this bucket of water
  16. *sigh* Management has decided, in their infinite wisdom, to turn the world upside down where I work*, and things are starting to kinda suck as a result. I've been trying to estivate** until things are over, but they keep moving us around. Like playing musical chairs is gonna make things better. Sheesh. Gonna try to go catatonic til the day is over

    * Actually, turn things upside down, then pick em up, give em a good shake, and then spend some time poking the results with pointed sticks, all the while laughing manically

    ** look it up
  17. Yes.... I mean no! I... **waaaauuurrrrrrg!**

If you're sidekicking somebody, do not Super Speed off and leave your sidekick to fight a mess of suddenly-purples.

    ::raises hand and hangs head::

    Guilty.

If things are going well, I tend to forget about them, until suddenly.....

    Bad mentor! Bad! No biscuit!
