Did Mephisto demand this in exchange for Marvel's reputation amongst fanboys?

Quote:I was with you on this and agree. However...Faultline appears to be in a happy relationship with Fusionette.
Statesman was married to a woman and had a biological daughter, presumably in the usual fashion.
It is within the realm of possibility that these characters are closeted gay, or bisexual. But the preponderance of evidence would lead me to believe that they are both straight. Whenever the issue comes up in canon - and it does - they behave as if they are. So it's not entirely fair to argue from the stance that there's no evidence either way.

We need a crack pairings thread. -

Quote:Okay, to put on my for serious face for a second...Marcian, the ole "no evidence to the contrary means it could be true" is a friggin' joke.
We slam GG for using that argument a lot; don't do it.
*ahem*
That's what you are doing. We're joking around with what isn't said. You are saying that:
Quote:They aren't gay. Quote:No, they aren't. Canon is canon.
Quote:He's never given any evidence, whatsoever.
Now, I can only assume that your mentality is that unless someone's sexuality is stated, their "default setting" is 100% pure Nicaraguan heterosexual. This is the mentality that I've been satirically lampooning with my rapier wit.
It reminds me of how everyone was shocked that Dumbledore was gay, because everyone assumed he was straight. The only evidence that he was straight was that there wasn't a specific sub-plot about Dumbledore being gay.
In other words: You don't know; I don't know, and until it's relevant to the storyline, I doubt either of us will know. Your ability to claim he's straight is as valid as my ability to claim he is not.
Therein lay the humor and satire.
See this guy? This is how clever I am. I am "This Guy" clever.
Now if you'll excuse me, warden_de_dios may have just earned 20 million Inf pending my ability to fit the image in a sig. -
I don't know if any of the characters' sexual orientations have ever been explicitly stated as canon. We know Manticore at least is into women, but we have no idea if he's bi, pansexual, straight or what-not.
Now, therein lay madness to say that Statesline is canon. There's no evidence to suggest there is. There's also no evidence to suggest otherwise, and it is in that dim gray that we do diddle.
Besides, Going Rogue was all about walking the line or crossing it. It would be against the spirit of this great expansion to not imagine Faultline held tenderly in Statesman's arms. -

*biggest facepalm of all. My gosh, this facepalm is huge. Have you seen the size of this facepalm!? It's like... dude... this facepalm is so large that a "Your mom" comparison would only fall short, as not even the mom from Gilbert Grape would be seen as skinny compared to this Facepalm. This facepalm would so deeply blot out the sun that even Leonidas wouldn't want to battle in that shade. It's a Facepalm that, in size and epicness would surely dwarf the opening of Space Odyssey 2001, which hasn't come true yet. I mean, it's 2011, a full decade after that movie and we still haven't acted out the events of that movie. For that matter, has Mega Man happened? It took place in the year 200X, and we're two years after the latest that could possibly be. Unless, of course, the X stood for a literal 10. Then, we'd only be one year past. That is, of course, assuming that we aren't accounting for the year Zero. Some don't, and some do. Maybe, by not accounting for the year Zero, Mega Man could arguably take place in the year 2011. Appropriate, given the role Zero will eventually play in Mega Man's series. The Zero's been there from the beginning.
Where was I?
Oh yeah, the facepalm. This thing is huge, son. It's like the size of Iceland. It would easily be seen as more epic than any attack ManOfManChars did in Ao Royale. Wait, you couldn't probably get that reference, could you? You need to join Unleashed and read up on it. You'd get it that way.
But it's huge. It's a huge facepalm. Like Jabba the Hutt letting himself go after a bad breakup facepalm. It's that huge.*
Has that officially been confirmed? Also, they might be bi.
-_-
Edit: Fixed typos for fluidity and optimized literary digestion. -

They feel your pain. -
Victory! It's been officially extended to the 30th.

Quote:*searches* Why, so you did! All credit to you, Utopia. You're onto something awesome with Statesline.I said it first! Statesline FTW! I think Golden Girl should graphic up their lovechild for giggles...and trauma.
I'll pay 20,000,000 Inf for a banner shipping Statesman and Faultline to use as my sig. Something romantic and sweet like this. -
Quote:Castle and theOcho both found left of their own volition. theOcho just explicitly stated he found a better job; Castle neither confirmed nor denied, but he got a "goodbye" post, which is traditionally only given to Devs leaving of their own accord (All Community Reps make goodbye posts). With all the "departures" happening I am wondering if there's something else going on ... :S
Maybe GR didn't sell as well as hoped?
The only unknown is BABs, and it should continue to remain unknown. -
I'm glad that you have such a fortune ahead of, Ocho. You've worked hard for this community, and I appreciate that. Good luck in your future endeavors.

I love this thread. Tenderly and sincerely.
More Statesman/Faultline! Wait... shipping names! Statesline! -
I'd like it extended. My partner just got back into Going Rogue, but she rejoined the day before yesterday. With New Year's Eve and all other such things, we haven't been able to go on that many in-game dates...
... we're dorks. -
Quote:Perfect! My partner wants her account reactivated if this is case. She's getting into Steam and has heard tell of our marvelous winter events.I finally managed to log back in, forums blocked me for half an hour.
If you already have the complete collection (I bought it from GameStop back in August) and you apply the Steam CD key, you get a month of game time. The key will be listed as "Retail", but it looks like the Steam CD keys don't conflict with the Going Rogue Complete Collection keys from stores.
To clarify, you have stated the following is true:
If someone already owns the City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete Collection hard copy (complete with shiny case), the code one gets from Steam for the same product would not be seen as redundant in the PlayNC system. As such, she can buy the same game again, and the end result would be a month of City of Heroes for $10.
Is this correct? I'm just double checking, as a miscommunication can put me out $10 and her rather discouraged about the game.
Thanks! -
Quote:Oh, I know. I'm not denying that at all, and "OOC", I can totally see why people want to overthrow him.Perhaps Tyrant should have thought about that before becoming a fascist dictator?
Like if he acted like a normal human and not a monster, there wouldn't really be any need for a resistance movement.
That being said, Chili Incarnate over there truly is protecting the world from Hamidon. If they overthrow him, and if the process of overthrowing him destroys the Sonic Fences, do you feel that the Resistance would share some responsibility in any of the repercussions of that? -
My indirect point being that the amount of destruction that the Resistance intends to cause in order to overthrow Emperor Cole would run the very serious risk of lapsing security systems. How do you destroy an army and their leader without even grazing the chance of temporarily disabling the Sonic Fence? I mean, it's possible, but it's risky.

Quote:I've never read a Fantastic Four comic, but I'll call this right now:It'll probably be Mister Fantastic. With all the stuff he's been messing up since he joined the Illuminati and whatnot he has it coming.
Even though Richard Reed brought this on, his enemies will kill Sue as a way of sending a message or otherwise holding him accountable. The comics will be about the guilt that he carries around, and everything will think that it's really dark and edgy that the wife was removed from the comic. Again. -
Oh hey, yeah, let's just keep on Resisting the guy who's keeping this out.
Jerks. :P -

Quote:I think the community has only two opinions of AE: Those that swear that "It is too still relevant!" and those that refer to it as "The Incident". It can still be the greatest thing about City of Heroes, but it will need conscious, deliberate, and bandwidth stretching resources to do so. That is to say, the developers will need to be convinced that fixing it is a viable focus for a game with limited resources that's trying to prepare for the onslaught of other games in the SuperHero MMO Genre. They need to be convinced that making this better instead of doing whatever other plan they had is the answer to fighting off those other games.
Did the devs win or lose the fight with AE?
Is it the answer? I have no idea, but I suspect it won't be in patch noes; it'll be a significant part of an Issue, widely advertised to the internal CoH community.
