As I peruse Scott Pilgrim vs. The World's soundtrack, I knew immediately what one of my favorite tracks would be: It's Getting Boring By The Sea. The name invokes this imagery of spoiled discontentment. It perfectly delivered the feeling of the song and had me jamming to the beat before I even heard the first note.
Which got me thinking... What Titles have ever piqued someone's interest? Regardless of the content, who was starring in it, or any other nonsense.
Some others:- City of Heroes: Explains the game perfectly, yet still holds up this concept of being a part of something great.
- Zombieland: By juxtaposing the horrible concept of zombies with the naming conventions of Disneyland, I knew that this was a horror comedy that understood me. Wanted to see it in theaters ever since I saw the movie posters that simply bared the name.
- Kill Bill: It's a movie with a single purpose. Don't know who Bill is, but he sounds like a jerk.
- A Series of Unfortunate Events: Anything that has this title and is marketed to children is my new favorite thing.
Your turn? - City of Heroes: Explains the game perfectly, yet still holds up this concept of being a part of something great.

I must know the details of this tournament...

Quote:Pretty much. My definition of "Hero" wouldn't be able to fight Emperor Cole. If they did, they'd be a Vigilante, and as rejected by the majority of the population as the Resistance are, whether they are right. But how else would you fight the top level of crime? The kind that know the system and how to exploit it. The kind that trickles down and has much broader effects than your simple thug.
I'm sorry. You can't stop this kind of crime on a heroic, righteous path. -
As someone that's only played Loyalist, I've lost a lot of this thread. Which is awesome.

Quote:I haven't read the books, but I'm fairly certain none of the movie happened. I don't think this took place in an alternate universe where it makes sense. I think this is how Scott sees things. Like, for example, Scott never fought Roxy Richter. More like he had a conversation with Ramona where she mentioned she's bi, and he felt it affront to his masculinity (Hence him refusing to hit "a soft girl" and her dying words being "You'll never make her feel this way".) She was a ninja because he didn't see the truth coming until the last second.Well......keep in mind Scott Pilgrim is a very Unreliable Narrator.
And read Volume 6 of Scott Pilgrim.
That's how I took the majority of the movie. I read a bit o' Wikipedia regarding Kim Pine's story, and it seems to gel.
... Or am I stating the obvious? -
A little too busy to embed every link, but here are all the posters I made back in the day, which was a Wednesday.

Scrappers:
"I'm sorry, I wasn't listening. You were saying something about a team plan?" -
Quote:I once saw a Blaster hold off five enemies above their level at once while everyone else went to the hospital because they couldn't handle the damage. There's such a thing as a good blaster? I thought that all they were good for was accumulating debt.
It was like staring into the lining of the planets. -
The more I read this thread, the more I'm realizing I'd rather have thorough zone overhauls than new zones...

With the Going Rogue tech, Hardcase could be severely overhauled into someone that more witnesses and, ah, aggressively evangelizes on the benefits of becoming a Hero. I like the idea of him getting a new arc that either ends in you working along side him to fight Nega-You (Scott Pilgrim status, yo)... or him determining that you're beyond redemption and coming at you with that full power that he claims to have but we never see.
Personally, I'd choose the latter. Every time.
Oh, and:

As someone that didn't know anything but the movie, my reaction was "It might have happened, but whether it did isn't the point. The point is that he's making fun of her."
Don't know if that perspective helps with anything. (And I haven't seen The Animation yet) -
City of Villains has a lot of storylines where the arc ends "And because you are a blackhearted and despicable villain, you will walk this path of loneliness forever..."
As a blanket statement, everyone of those could do with a Going Rogue overhaul.
I want the options both to be convinced by Hardcase that my ways are sinful... as well as to look at Westin Phipps and say "Why are you holding back? Let me do show you how it's done." -
I present the first fail video I ever saw.
Ladies and Gentlemen... The Sprinkler Rainbow Conspiracy.
Edit: Oh... it says Time Violation in my name. How unfortunate. -
Quote:I thought this was the whole explanation right here. Cole allows certain levels of in-fighting (a la Lord Recluse), and PPD hates Power Division.I get the yellow bracket guys, especially since the PPD and Powers Division don't always get along.
Edit to the New Guy: Welcome to the forums! City of Heroes/Villains/MorallyAmbiguousParallelograms prides itself, internally, on having a friendly community. You're always welcome to come to us with questions or if you just thought of a lol.
Hope you enjoy the forums, feel free to PM me any questions you have. -

I envision a world where the "Project D.E.S.T.I.N.Y" level 50 arc contains several options to gain "Rogue" points at the appropriate spot. Given, ya know... stuff.

And now you both know how the other one feels. Unless either of you are entering this conversation willing to be corrected and convinced, let's move on, shall we?
