I'm guessing by the size of this thread I need to watch this show two days ago.
-
Need to figure out how to make a Malcolm Reynolds character that works.

I find it a fascinating phenomenon that people feel personally violated when their favorite version of something ceases to be the "definitive" version. I'm not saying "you people"; I get that way, too.
A lot of people could simply opt to not watch this film. Instead, people are feeling strong emotional reactions on the subject. -

Fun Fact: You can make a sex joke without actually sleeping with every person to whom the joke may apply. And you can say "This person is attractive" without saying "He's my pimp."
Here: Harley Quinn sings. The joke in this one is that The Joker beats Harley Quinn. Don't know what reactions that will get, but it felt like the time to post it. -
Get ready.
And by "Get ready" I mean look down because your guts are probably already spilling across the floor like Joaquin Phoenix's dignity all over the cameras of the David Letterman show.
Questions are now to be sent in via Twitter. -
Wow, I really, really did not enjoy this episode. About 20 minutes through, I was floating on auto-pilot "Watch it so that I can say I watched every episode" mode.
As noted, all of the numbers were music video recreations (except for Toxic and the not Britney Spears song). This completely robbed them of any meaning. The episode had absolutely nothing to do with Brittany after the first five minutes. Those five minutes in, I was absolutely exuberant. After I realized that she had nothing real to do with the episode, I felt like it was a bait and switch.
Jacob's increasing perversion walked the line between "hilariously too much" and "uncomfortably over the top", but I'll put that one on personal taste.
In the Madonna episode, they went all out and made a lot of cases as to why Madonna needed to be honored. They failed that connection here. People just mumbled that Britney was hot before they dressed like her and Karaoke Revolution'd their way into one of her music videos.
The only moment I actually liked was Quinn's invitation to Finn at the end. It showed how far the characters have come and how dynamic the writers are now letting them be. It made me smile.
Looking forward to next week's, but I was greatly disappointed by this one.
Edit: They could have made "Not a girl, not yet a woman" work for Rachel's closing song. Surprised they broke the Britney homage in order to wrap up the episode. -
Found on the Paragon Unleashed forums. Thanks to Liquid X for posting.
If this doesn't bring Lord of Retirement to post, then the last of the time lords is dead. -
No, but do you have it?
See, Mod 12? I hit "Reply" instead of report this time! -
... with complaints that made no sense. The character's entire rant list was incoherent and he absolutely shut down any debate or legitimate discussion. That was the running joke: That it wasn't political. It was personal.

I just heard the iTunes preview of Toxic. Absolutely hilarious. Incidentally, that's one of the only Britney Spears songs I like, and I absolutely adore it. Great to see what they did with it.
Edit: Confirmed Rocky Horror Glee Show list:- Science Fiction Double Feature
- Damn it, Janet
- Whatever Happened to Saturday Night?
- Sweet Transvestite
- Touch a Touch a Touch a Touch Me
- There's a Light (Over at the Frankenstein Place)
- Time Warp
Seems like they more or less nailed them all! -
It's almost here.
Glee's second pure homage episode pays tribute to one of the biggest pop stars of the last decade: Britney Spears.
More important than paying tribute to one of pop culture's most influential figures, however, is the moment that we've all wanted since a certain lady once explained that dolphins were just gay sharks...
This will be the first episode to feature Brittany as a lead character.
I'm sure this is going to have the sharpest (dullest?) dialogue in the show's history. Enjoy!
Edit: The Glee cover of Toxic has been leaked. Have a listen? -

Quote:No politics whatsoever. You're safe. Go, run free and lul. LUL AS YOU ONCE DID!I stopped watching Family Guy when the political rhetoric was cranked up to 11. Because of the unabashedly, even offensively liberal attacks, I've never been interested in picking up the show again... until now.
How's the political [censored]-flinging in this episode? Toned down enough for the sake of a smart, witty plot like the first few seasons? -
Quote:I strongly believe that Seth MacFarlene saw a chance to reopen an awesome story arc and seized it.edit: Oh, and I loved the season premier. I'm curious what the fall out is going to be from a few of the deaths. Especially with [spoiler]'s [spoiler] dead, are she and [spoiler] going to hook up again?
-
So, Katy Perry responded by appearing on Saturday Night Live in an extremely sexy Emo themed shirt.

When Seth MacFarlene said "This episode is canon; these characters will stay dead", he added "To be continued" to the end of it.

Quote:Well, it's pretty crass to jump into a thread where people are happy just to throw negativity in. Doubly so when your negativity is explicitly incorrect.pretty much. when ever I hear family guy all I can think of is "remember that time when..."
Read the OP and report back, please.
