I'd recommend using the term Native American rather than Indian. It's not one I'm super fond of either, but it'll be the most acceptable to the most people in my opinion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I personally think Canada has the right idea...people of the First Nations. Much more accurate than "native" or "Indian."
  4. Hau`oli la hanau TA! Hope you and the lovely Sassy have a fantastic celebration for your birthday!

Well, the Crey Cloning lab has had problems with glowies spawning in unreachable areas, and I can't tell you how many times I've tried to do a mission in the burning forest map, only to find that bosses refuse to spawn. That's probably why those were taken out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Word on one of the MA boards has it that the burning forest map also had a glowie spawn point that was mid-air and couldn't be clicked with anything other than fly/hover.

I have to say: A dark unicorn looks suspiciously like a regular unicorn to me. I figured it'd have more mascara and trenchcoat or something.

Methinks you just stumbled upon something that you could do for a warm-up sketch...a goth-icorn!

    Cat show!

    Holy necromancy Batman!

I could never bring myself to making a catgirl for one of my characters. Closest I ever got was the Crazy Old Cat Lady.
  13. Arc Name: Sibling Rivalry
    Arc ID: 118690
    Morality: Heroic
    Creator: @Sister Flame
Difficulty Level: Easy to medium depending on AT
Arc Description: A simple bank robbery leads to a pair of siblings locked in a struggle between good and evil. One is a hero and the other is a villain out for revenge.
    Arc Length: 5 missions
Why you think it deserves to be played/discussed: I've been following Sister Flame's story for awhile and was thrilled to hear that she wanted to publish an arc of her very own. This arc was a father-daughter project with Flame coming up with the story and other tidbits and dad bringing her story to life. The story was simply charming! The custom enemy group is pretty hilarious and had some great lines that were appropriate to their theme (I don't want to give too much away). There were some minor things that need to be polished when I ran it (some spelling/grammar errors), but they didn't really detract from the story and dad is very open to constructive feedback.

All in all, this arc is an absolute must for any member of Sister Flame's Clickey-Clack Posse.

    Arc Name: Project Catnip
    Arc ID: 114369
    Morality: Heroic
    Creator: @Manoa
    Difficulty Level: Easily soloable
Arc Description: Old Mrs. Shepherd's precious felines have gone missing! Help the crazy old cat lady find them before it's too late!
    Arc Length: Four missions
Why you think it deserves to be played/discussed: This arc is very cute, very funny, but also nicely written and plotted. Manoa's choice of maps is great and they make sense for what you're doing. She also does a great job on wordplay and makes some very groan-worthy puns. I enjoyed this quite a bit and look forward to more arcs by Manoa.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks so much Arwen! I'm really glad you enjoyed it and hope others do as well! I honestly feel that my earlier bad luck was a blessing in disguise and this version turned out far better than the original incarnation that I lost. I've done some puttering on the 3rd mission this weekend after receiving awesome feedback and feel much more comfortable about that particular mission.

Oh, and regarding the puns/wordplay...I used the Somber Traveler scale. If he groaned, cringed and squirmed at a pun or use of wordplay, it made it into the arc!
  15. After a lot of blood, sweat and tears (oh dear gawd, the tears! ), I'm pleased to present...

    Title: Project Catnip
    Arc ID: 114369
    Creator’s Global Name: @Manoa
Difficulty Level: Moderately easy on heroic, though I was testing on my scrapper...may be a bit tougher for the more squishy types.
Synopsis – Old Mrs. Shepherd's precious felines have gone missing! Help the crazy old cat lady find them before it's too late!
    Number of EB/AVS – 1 EB/AV enemy, 1 EB ally
Story Type – It features the Baffling Crazy Old Cat Lady...so I'm going to go with humor!
    Mission Count: 4
Estimated Time to Play: MA says it's "Very Long," but it really isn't (most of the maps are medium-sized). I'm guessing it could take anywhere in the 20-40 minute range depending on the AT/team running it.

You had to be there to see Sister Flame smiling as she pointed her finger at me as she explained to me how it was going to be:

Wyll: "You're arc should be done soon, honey. Then we can publish it for everyone."

Sister Flame: "Soon? It's gonna be done this Monday. Monday! Monday! Monday!" *finger pointing and smiling* "Or else!"

Wyll: "Well, there's a lot I have to do, honey. Spell checking, pacing, plot holes... it may take a little longer."

Sister Flame: *closes one eye and makes a gun with her fingers, aiming at me* "Monday."

    End of discusssion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, who can argue with that? LOL! Looking forward to running it when it gets published!
  17. The new magic costume pieces really complement TA's look...the new costume is quite lovely!

Oh, and don't forget to announce that arc over on Justice so your fellow Justicites can run it!

  22. Force is strong for Jedi police
    BBC News
    Published: 2009/04/16 16:40:22 GMT

Eight police officers serving with Scotland's largest force listed their official religion as Jedi in voluntary diversity forms, it has emerged.

Strathclyde Police said the officers and two of its civilian staff claimed to follow the faith, which features in the Star Wars movies.

The details were obtained in a Freedom of Information request by Jane's Police Review.

Strathclyde was the only force in the UK to admit it had Jedi officers.

In the Star Wars films, Jedi Knights such as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda use the Force to battle the evil Darth Vader, who has strayed to the dark side.

Jane's Police Review editor Chris Herbert, who requested the information, said: "The Force appears to be strong in Strathclyde Police with their Jedi police officers and staff.

"Far from living a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, some members of the noble Jedi order have now chosen Glasgow and its surrounding streets as their home."

    Provided voluntarily

A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police confirmed: "At the time of the request, 10 (eight police officers and two police staff) had recorded their religion as Jedi."

She added that the force monitored "six strands of diversity" - age, disability, gender, race religion and belief, and sexual orientation.

The force said the information was provided voluntarily and securely stored.

About 390,000 people listed their religion as Jedi in the 2001 Census for England and Wales. In Scotland the figure was a reported 14,000.

The Office for National Statistics did not recognise it as a separate category, and incorporated followers of Jedi with the atheists.

Last year, brothers Barney and Daniel Jones founded the UK Church of the Jedi - which offered sermons on the Force, light sabre training, and meditation techniques.

Strathclyde Police employs 8,200 police officers and 2,800 civilian staff.
