Quote:That's the third time the merits fine print has been quoted in response to inquiries. Pum, perhaps you should bold, italicize and/or underline that particular bit of fine print so folks catch it?Read the fine print:
Quote:Merit prizes are Task Force Merits. Since merits cannot be given or traded, the winner will direct me to spend those merits for them at a Merit Vendor in whatever fashion they want, and the product will be handed over to them immediately. Note that the spending toon _will_ be 50, so there are some limitations to the level of recipe the winner can get from this. Winner Merits can be banked for a period of 1 month before being lost, since I don't want an ongoing tally sheet of who I will owe merits to. Note that I am not available 24 hours a day, although I will try to accommodate your schedule in order to spend the merits in the shortest time frame possible.
P.S. Sounds like an awesome event Pum! Hope I'm able to make it! -
Hauʻoli lā hānau Missy! Hope your day is fabulous!!

Quote:I knew why it happened and am not too thrilled about it. Just didn't know that it was possible to view the comments until TJ mentioned it and Missy enlightened me on the how.You can thank everyone that cried about having to see their negative comments on their User CP. I just want the option of being able to see them, as I had some funny comments I'd go read when I was bummed. I hate when something is taken away from everyone because of a few vocal whiners.

Quote:It's a good thing! Before she put it on the market, she got it appraised for 355k and that's what it was listed at, and what I got it for. My agent (I think he was the operator here) got it appraised again last week after I signed all the paperwork and it came in at 361k. I have no idea what that means or if its good or bad.
The appraisal that your agent got was most likely for your loan...since the market value that your appraiser came up with was at or above your contract price, your lender will feel much more comfortable with issuing a loan based on that purchase price. If your appraisal came in below the purchase price, they'd have a much more difficult time getting the loan approved (so the lender would have likely urged you to renegotiate the price to make the loan work if that had happened).
The important thing to keep in mind that appraisals are solely an appraiser's opinion of what the market value is...two different appraisers can use identical data sets and come up with different values due to a difference of opinion. I'm guessing the variance is due to the use of data sets or using similar data sets and interpreting the data differently. But the the values are *really* close to one another, a variance of only 1.7%...so it sounds like the market data that the appraisers provided you with (the seller's appraisal and your appraisal) lend pretty good support that your purchase price is in the ballpark. -
Quote:Out of curiosity, what area of the bay? How large? When built? Was it a REO, Short, or market sale?I got a huge deal, a house that would have sold for $750k five years ago, I got for less than half of that. I figure if I can fix it up for a few years, I might be able to get a big return on my investment. And if I decide to stay, that's fine too. It has a gigantic game room addition (built to code) with a wood-beam vaulted ceiling, big enough for a home theatre and a pool table. So, staying might be nice too.
Hope you don't mind all the nosey questions...it's the real estate appraiser in me!(if you don't want to share, it's cool

I haven't figured out how to view them yet (guess I'm not working hard enough!). I really wish they'd bring it back to the CP...I rather enjoyed seeing which posts people found most helpful.

Quote:Here here! You know, I thought about that before I posted. I don't want to scare people away from Justice or seem unwelcoming. If you com in unarmed, fine. Just don't come in attacking, yeah?
The door is always open. That doesn't mean people should come in, complain about the food, spank our kids, or ask to borrow money.
If anyone is going to spank Pum, it should be one of us.
(and thanks Missy for summing up in a clear and concise manner what I was trying to say in my previous post...unfortunately, the sleepies were getting to me when I posted it and don't think it was as clear as I would have liked)

Quote:It's pretty unfair to jump on a poster for sarcastic comment with speculations on how they've been thrown onto ignore lists and how people likely don't want to play with them if you haven't taken the time to get to know them, their posting style or the community they post in. Whether a new player or a veteran poster who is new to a particular forum community, I think it's far more important for folks to spend a little time familiarizing themselves with the feel of the community the intend to post in as well as the posting nuances of its regular posters. It doesn't take much time to realize that Justice is a crazy, carefree, sarcastic group of folks and that Rule #1 in the Justice forums is "Don't take anything too seriously."Just because something somebody says is an obvious fake, or an obvious sarcastic comment, or an obvious joke, does not mean that everybody realizes that. It's important, especially on these forums where there are lots of new players who will take anything at face value, to respond to the bad ideas and off-comments in such a way that even players with no background information will be able to understand why something is a bad idea, or why something is not a joke.

Yay pictures! Great to see that everyone had a fantastic time!

A lot of this was already discussed in an earlier thread. I'd suggest giving that thread a look to see the various viewpoints.

Same! I stepped into the LAN center briefly to take a peek and to sign RG's t-shirt before dinner Friday night. I brought my laptop just in case, but only got to use it to check Facebook and the message boards a tad bit in the mornings before leaving the hotel room for non-stop socializing.

Considering the number of player-organized get-togethers we've had in the Sacramento area over the last couple years, I think we're more than overdue for having a NorCal Justice M&G based in the Bay area. Although I'm none too fond of driving in the Bay and we've made the drive fairly recently due to HeroCon, I strongly feel that it's only fair for us Sacramentans to make the drive this time around since we have called upon the Bay area folks a number of times to make the drive to Sacramento-based M&Gs.
Any of the above dates look fine to me...my calendar is pretty open and it looks like it'll remain such for awhile... -
trem, Smoke, LHF...these are the reasons why there are so many nekkid threads in Justice...

Quote:And it was really awesome getting to hang out with ya at breakfast! I recognized your name right off the bat from the occasional Hami raid that I've attended (I can't count the number of times I've given you tank buffs!) It was neat finally getting to meet you!I did manage to drag myself to breakfast, but I didn't know anyone, really. I'm working up to it.
I regret not seeing ya during the rest of the con...I'll have to be sure to learn some tracking skills between now and next year so I can track you and Pope down!

Granted, but then our UI would be completely dumbed down and Pohsyb would be let out of his box 'cause he'd have way too much free time on his hands (scary!).
I wish this game included hula skirt as a costume option! -
Quote:Okay, we have to get you to join us the next time we have a mini get-together for the NorCal Justicites. Perhaps be easier for you to initially break the ice with a much smaller group of folks. And then when HeroCon rolls around next year, hopefully you'll feel comfortable enough around us NorCal folks that you'll hang with us and mingle with whoever we're mingling with.Next year I am PMing a few of you my cell phone number, so you can force me to hang out with the group. I have no idea why I am so wickedly shy and afraid to break the ice, but I usually can't manage this on my own. I'm pretty sure I'm a cool person to be around after that initial stage, it's just getting there thats the hard part!
