    phase shift

Does phase shift work on trial/raid boss mechanics such as antimatters green aoe marauders pbaoe or Valkyries nanite bombs?

    Jadewire Base
  3. Well the OP did list them as one of the rp pvp groups.
  4. By pretending to be a roleplayer, referring to groups like the goon squad, or the X-patriots who don't have any roleplay beside saying they beat you up. Their groups don't do roleplay they just say they are roleplaying when beat someone in pvp. If they lose it well that didn't fit their already loose definition of IC.

The ability to build a base dojo then actually have duels in them really never got old. And being able to actually chase a fugitive through a zone thats being manned by a real person is a lot of fun. And before you had AE it was sometimes the only way to run a story.

We ran the Liberty Bowman plot that way on Virtue, he was taken out during another operation in Bloody Bay and they created a story around his kidnapping. And thats just one example.

Not every SG on the server is into the Mary Sue always win god mode. Maybe the groups you run with, but not any of the ones I've been involved with. I also know groups that still use PVP in RP though not generally in the zones, mostly they use the arena for duels/training/simulations.

Sometimes RPvP has nothing to do with winning/losing, sometimes its just the ability to be able to play out whats happening.

Actually slicing the bad guy with your sword is way more fun then "/em slashes bad guy in the face".

Its like AE, use it in a creative fashion.

I'm a fairly heavy story based RPer and I'd chose PVP over text fighting any day. Its more fun as long as you don't get a group of people who are more interested in winning then story/fun. But thats a consideration for anything in the game when RP is involved.

    As for the OP:

I really enjoy RPVP and I sadly got into it with the Shinsengumi at the tail end of its heyday with the Liberty Bowman event. I find it hard honestly finding other people who are up for it, and I sadly don't have the skill that Kadekawa had in convincing people to actually try it.

But if someone managed to set up a group or some events I would LOVE to get back involved and help how I can.

You gave me no examples here of how there was any roleplay pvp that was actually roleplay pvp not pvpers pretending to be roleplayers. So unless you can you know, find an example thats not some obscure event, I'll just give you the same treatment you gave me. you don't know what your talking about your wrong.

I'm a lot more OK with losing a match when I lose because of inferior skill than when I lose because the other guy has all the time in the world to grind for purples and I don't. Obviously you don't see it my way, and that's cool, but in many cases at least it's got nothing to do with any of that Mary Sue stuff you mentioned.
I'm not certain how to respond to this. It feels like what you are saying is more of a complaint about the pvp in this game in general. Because, well last I checked you don't roleplay in tf2, I don't think you spend months building a character and detailing their origin in tf2, or any other fps for that matter. Oh, also it's grinding pvp io's now not purples.

You know, some people have had their mains since the beginning, and don't want to change it because things change.
Maybe I didn't make what I said clear enough? So I'll correct it, I'm not saying retool your main's concept. What I am saying is if you want a toon to pvp on make one. It's virtue we have more than our fair share of really dumb character concepts, I'm sure any half intelligent person could make an actual cool concept out of a build that doesn't suck for pvp. If you don't want to make a new character for that than don't.
  8. Someone asked me to post here and I will, virtue has never had an active rp pvp community, it had pvp rp events that were run by pvpers. Thats it. The rp playing base on virtue of whoever attended those events is almost all gone. The remaining player base on virtue dosen't rppvp because our game is built up in cliques with different sg's demanding all the other sg's realize how awesome they are. People are too used to doing rp plots were mary su generic characters win everything, because of this most rpers are way too afraid to lose.

The complaints about the new system are moot at this point, it's been almost two years since i13 was launched people have had that long to prepare new builds and try pvping again. In a game known for it's quick leveling it's a joke for anyone to complain they don't have the build to pvp or their characters concept dosen't fit. Roll a new toon if you want to pvp and get a different concept. Yes pvp has changed, get over it.
  9. I recently got a new computer an asus from the republic of gamers line. I was pretty happy to start trying coh on it. But it seems to have this issue were after playing for more than five or so minutes the screen will flicker black and I'll see these Chinese? Words at the bottom of my screen followed by a 1. 2. 3. 4. sometimes this happens mid game play and the screen will not flash away. It wouldn't be an issue but it turns off my ability to type in game, and if I don't restart I'll start hearing the windows beeping noise if I try moving around in game.

Does anyone have any clue what could be doing this?
  10. The Demons and Soulless husks of abyss empire have banded together to bring the isles to their knee's. Through good behavior and helping the community...wait what?

The abyss empire will be hosting a bake sale on the twentieth of november it will start at 6 PM Eastern and end roughly at 11 p.m. EST. The bake sale will be a group attempt at having interactions with new players and different groups so everyone is invited, we will be having different games and will be organizing to have over one hundred million in prizes. The event is expected to be a silly party-like atmosphere, so participants are warned before hand to try not to take themselves too seriously.

We look forward to anyone showing up you can contact me in game at @02113, I'll update the threat as more plans are put into motion.
  11. A blaster getting with a crit from hide and losing half health is not exactly something to complain about, you have diminishing returns uping your resistance to near 40%, one ranged attack that takes half your life away isn't breaking the game since blasters can kill things just as quickly if not quicker with buildup/aim on. Especially if your a sonic blaster as you said you are. Half a blasters health is normally 700, a normal shark attack does about 300 plus a crit, and if they proc they take half the health away of a class that can then hop away aid self, buildup aim and eat through their hp. And they are nerfing the shark next issue. If you really cannot take getting hit by something that can kill you that much I reccomend waiting until the nerf rolls around.
  12. cheat  [cheet] Show IPA
    –verb (used with object)
    1. to defraud; swindle: He cheated her out of her inheritance.
    2. to deceive; influence by fraud: He cheated us into believing him a hero.
    3. to elude; deprive of something expected: He cheated the law by suicide.
    –verb (used without object)
    4. to practice fraud or deceit: She cheats without regrets.
    5. to violate rules or regulations: He cheats at cards.
    6. to take an examination or test in a dishonest way, as by improper access to answers.
    7. Informal. to be sexually unfaithful (often fol. by on): Her husband knew she had been cheating all along. He cheated on his wife.
    –noun
    8. a person who acts dishonestly, deceives, or defrauds: He is a cheat and a liar.
    9. a fraud; swindle; deception: The game was a cheat.
    10. Law. the fraudulent obtaining of another's property by a pretense or trick.
    11. an impostor: The man who passed as an earl was a cheat.

The term cheat does not fit, if someone cheated at this game it would be using an exploit. We could point to the infamous power leveling issue with the cathedral of pain trail were a person could click there way to level 50 in a few hours by cheating the game into thinking they were earning level 50 experience. Cheating would be using a glitch such as the one the khelidans used to have that they could slot a power infinitely.

Running mission architect arcs is designed to be farmed is no cheat it's simply easy mode. In a game were players create their own content a farm would be inevitable. But using the materials the developers provided them is no cheat.

By your logic anything that does not fit your select criteria is cheating, please understand what cheating is and understand that all you are managing to do is draw attention to yourself for being more then a bit uncouth. Now this may count as a troll post to some of you but I am an avid fan of the architect and I do enjoy it for writing my own story lines with friends and I have my fair share of fifties that took about a week to reach fifty. But I am in no way ashamed of using the tools the developers provided me and neither should anyone else be targeted for playing the game the way they want.

    (lol) Fightclub

Allright thanks for the advice, thankfully I have an old sonic storm defender that's about lvl 45 it should not be too hard if I can hop onto one of these repeated argicultural experience that people seem to be doing so much of these days.

Another question then, would a fire/fire scrapper be viable in pvp, (I'm shooting for some sort of fire theme here) or would a fire/elec, fire/thorn, dominator take the cake?

    (lol) Fightclub

I am an avid fan of fightclub pvp the one on one arena matches, and I have recently run into a stub when going against a thugs/traps mastermind, I just cannot seem to make a build that can get through that with diminishing returns on. So I'm asking what do you all think is one of the better or best fight club builds, to use against that kind of thing?
