  1. No worries about getting myself all dirty. One of the advantages of having a leather costume is the "wipe clean" aspect which comes in very handy after a particularly eventful stalking session - blood stained clothing is unhygienic after all.
  2. A while back (too long for my old brain to remember) I downloaded a game called City of Heroes and played on a server named Justice (those old ones will remember that back in the old days we had to use the US servers). Eventually those nice people who supply the game took pity on us and gave us our very own servers in Europe - oh happy day!

In the US I had played scrappers and blasters (though the blasters did tend to enjoy inspecting the pavement a bit too much for my liking). I went for a bit of a change on the EU servers and Major Healer was born of Defiant (and all the others to "reserve the name"). Me and the Major were not into power levelling or intense gaming sessions apart from the weekend so it took us a while to get to level 38. Personal issues at home (a.k.a. slight case of going loopy and being put on medication for 9 months) meant that CoH (and CoV as it was live then) was put to the side. It's been over a year since my departure and now I'm back - but not on Defiant as I wanted another change .

Major Healer on Defiant is retired - actually he's sat in some nightclub slowly drinking away all his influence. Max Shadow is now my main character, a stalker with a mean streak - such a change to be ripping up people rather than patching them up. There is also a Major Healer on Union but I don't let him out much as defenders at low levels are too much of a pain for me now - been there done that syndrome.

So, this is a long way of saying "Hello". I'm a sort of role player but not into all that novel writing stuff - just out to have a good time and make missions a bit more fun. Catch you on the prowl or at Pocket D sometime. For those interested there is an outline character profile linked to in my forum signature - more will be added in due course (time allowing).

    just logged

Well the first thing I'd suggest is to read the manual. If you did not get a manual for CoH with your game then you can download it from this link ftp://ftp.coh.com/CoH_Manual.zip - if you got CoV then use this link ftp://ftp.coh.com/CoV_Manual.pdf

Once you have read the manual then just jump into the game - it's that simple.
  4. Speaking as an empathy defender I can only applaud any attempt to get a team to work together rather than blindly rush in and expect the poor old defender to mop up the mess and keep them standing.

Communication within some teams I have been on of late has been sadly lacking. The extent of the communication being "here" whilst I note yellow health bars and try to encourage folk to stay together as I have not yet unlocked the omnipresent power.

COV has some healing powers but these are secondary powers and nowhere near as powerful as empathy is. With the fact that most of the archetypes in COV have low hit points planned teamwork is even more vital.
  5. Mr Human_fire_ball sir,

Many thanks for the kind offer but I am sure you will understand that I'd prefer to fall in with a group associated with someone I have teamed up with many times before in preference to another. Thanks again though.
  6. Dr Nocturnal just does not look right against your name - bring back the good old squeaky clean Empath

I will not be in CoH tonight at all - now this may have something to do with getting CoV then again it may not

My CoV character is about as different as I could get it from the CoH one - he goes by the name of Canine Brute and is (surprisingly) a brute

Looking forward to seeing you either side of the fence so to speak.
  7. I somehow suspect that the villains are going to meet some serious opposition considering as how Bloody Bay lets in people well over the level of what even the most caffeine soaked villain could have attained in the past 48 hours. I may just be there but from my last experiences of PvP I note that defenders tend to end up #1 on the hit list - it's nice to be so popular

Will make a refreshing change from the hero v hero madness which the weekend saw - maybe the word should be gotten out that a hero should defend and support another hero in such areas and pummel a villain into the ground (or sea preferably as that makes less of a mess).
  8. I solo some missions but lacking any great offensive power I tend to play the old "pick them off one at a time and take several hours" method. My only offensive powers (apart from language) are Mental Blast, Psionic Lance and Telekinetic Blast all with two slots with 40+ in them (I dont count brawl as it is not slotted). Providing I can hover out of melee range then I can almost be guaranteed to manage it.

However playing solo is just not as much fun
  9. Things are a little bit "dead" amongst the Supergroups around my level for some reason (anyone care to mention City of Villians?) so I thought I'd come here and introduce myself to those who do not already know me...

I play only one CoH character - no alts at all. He is a level 38 defender and has recently been re-specced following my return to find the "enhancements" to how we stack our power pools. I left CoH several months ago but missed the excitement and the fact that it is probably the most balanced game out there at the moment.

I am not a power-leveler and I am not really interested in the arena or PvP but will be more than happy to assist others in the arena or PvP if they are in need of a decent defender. I hold down a full-time job so I tend to play in the evening and weekends but I do have a life and so I tend to need some warning about such things as TF's and other events

The SG I seek will be an established one with a mix of character levels but not too many in one extreme (i.e. no sense in me being a level 38 and the rest of you are level 12 or 50).

Now I should point out that I will be playing CoV once I can get my hands upon a code. However I will be playing it exactly the same as I do CoH - only one character and definitely not power-leveling). I fully expect to spend 50% of the time in CoH and 50% in CoV - though this will change when I hit level 50 on CoH (months away at the rate I level at).

As for me (the person not the character) I just had my 40th birthday a week or so back and I think I have a mature outlook on life (must be something to do with being so old). For those of you who ever played Ultima Online I was a Counselor (until they were got rid of) and I was also one of the moderators of the DAoC EU forums - so I tend to have a relaxed and helpful outlook.

Oh I should also mention that I do dabble in Role-Playing (yes I know Union was nominated by the players as the RP server but I fly in the face of convention). I'm not all that keen on joining a SG with a name not in keeping with the heroic nature of the game nor one which has a fixation with garish colours - especially pink.

I'd like to join an active SG and not one with it's nose up in the air nor one which is just a small clique. What I offer you in return is me - my services when I am online for missions, TF's and anything else (subject to me having the time - especially in the case of TF's). I don't expect to be team up all the time with only members of the SG - I like to spread myself about a bit as I think in doing so I meet more people and probably the sort which may make decent additions to any SG.

If this all sounds a bit fussy then I do not apologise - I want to join the SG which is right for me and I'm sure this is going to be the best way to get the word out.

If you wish to speak to me further then the in-game name is below. Send me an in-game mail or a PM here.

    Thanks in advance.

Oh just one more thing - I don't do TXT speak and scream at plz, cu m8 or any of the other abominations
  10. Uhm well hello

    Who's who? you ask?

Well I'm me - a relatively low level defender thanks to taking a few months off who is now rather confused by the great many changes

My information on who is the best (or at least who claims to the the best the most often) is rather out of date but it's good to see that some of the reliable names are still around.

Most of the "oldies" will be off sewing their villainous costumes at the moment but I am sure that they will get in touch in due course.

    I6 empath builds

I guess I will be going for a combination of three dual slotted enhancements to make use of the six slots - not exactly sure how as I am still trying to download the update. I am pleased that I at least have 1 respec saved so my "useless" enhancements can at least be recycled.
  12. Helping Hands is a defender only Supergroup

We currently have 26 members ranging from level 4 through to level 33. We are always more than willing to welcome new defenders into the Supergroup and also to find defenders for teams who need then - emphasis there on the word defenders (if folk want a healer then they need to be specific).

People interested in joining or finding out more should ask one of the leaders of the Supergroup.....

    Disciple (Magic origin)
    Scout (Science origin)
    myrmidion (Natural origin)
    Hathor (Science orgin)
    Major Healer (Mutation origin)

The Supergroup colours are yellow and blue. The emblem is a heart. There is no hard and fast ruling regarding the wearing of the Supergroup uniform.
