A Guide to some Heroside Accolades:
Accolades
While all accolades (or at least most) can be very helpful. It would be great if we all focused on getting the +hit point accolades, as goals with our builds are mainly to cap hit points (to survive spikes). There are 3 +hp accolades. I am only going to run down the hero version of them since almost the whole team (and every person I have talked to) is playing a hero (or working on switching to hero).
1. Portal Jockey- gives 5% hp and 5% end
Badges needed: Dimensional Warder, Shrouded, Multidimensional, and Scholastic
To obtain:
DW- Run the NEW Maria Jenkins arc, then run Siege's single mission and an Antimatter mission (I have both of these single missions, Maria can be run through ozone or on a character 45+ by getting the contact). Alternately, you can run Maria's OLD arc and then the Antimatter mission, but the old arc is much longer. You need to kill 14 AVs in the arcs for this badge (Shadowhunter is not needed).
Multidimensional- Enter the "The Hydra Dimension" (40-45) (you can go in and back out to earn the badge)
Shrouded- Enter Nightstar's roof top mission map. This is in ozone listed as "Black Shroud Dimension" (46-50)
Scholastic- Read 3 plaques (#1 in FF #1 and #2 in Bricks)
2. Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member- gives 10% hp
Badges needed: Tank Buster, Gearsmasher, Unveiler, Regal, Brawler, Vigorous, Summoned, Keen Sighted, Purifier, Nimble Mynx, Authority
To obtain:
Tank Buster- defeat 100 Freakshow tank bosses (suggestion, run Sister Psyche tf/2nd respec trial)
Gearsmasher- defear 100 Clockwork Gears (suggestion, run Synapse tf)
Unveiler- defeat 100 Fake Nemesis (suggestion, large team hunt in FBZ or PI)
Regal- Exploration Badge #2 in Boomtown
Brawler- Exploration Badge #3 in Galaxy
Vigorous- Exploration Badge #3 in IP
Summoned- Exploration Badge #1 in Kings Row
Keen Sighted- Exploration Badge #4 in Kings Row
Purifier- Exploration Badge #1 in Skyway
Nimble Mynx- Exploration Badge #3 in Steel Canyon
Authority- read 5 plaques (#1 and #2 in IP, #5 in Talos, #4 in Dark Astoria, and #4 in Terra Volta)
3. Task Force Commander- gives 5% hp
Badges needed: Positron's Ally, Synapse's Cohort, Sister Psyche's Comrade, Citadel's Assistant, Manticore's Associate, and Numina's Compatriot
To obtain:
Positron's Ally- run the new Positron tfs (part 1 and 2) from Steel Canyon or run the old Positron tf through ozone
Synapse's Cohort- run the Synapse tf from Skyway City
Sister Psyche's Comrade- run the Sister Psyche tf from IP
Citadel's Assistant- run the Citadel tf from Talos
Manticore's Associate- run the Manticore tf from Brickstown

Quote:Also I am running an event through PERC that is pretty hard core: Iron-Man ITF Race!
GP- I challenge you. I got my green t-shirt with pink writing ready! -
As a great Kick Off to Victory Limitless... we'll be running Apexmagegrey (that's Apex, Tin-Mage, and Lady Grey Task forces) Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all at 9pm est. This is a great chance for 154 merits (lgtf is the WST) in an hour (give or take).
Also I am running an event through PERC that is pretty hard core: Iron-Man ITF Race! -
P.E.R.C. Presents: Iron-Man ITF Race
Saturday, May 28th @ 5 PM EST
Hosted by P.E.R.C. Reps @Madame Pistacio and @Medieval Power
What:
The Iron-Man ITF is a challenging race against the clock and your fellow players as part of a 3-man team. You and your teammates will fight your way through countless Cimeroran traitors, mythical beasts, and cosmic threats all the while aiming to set the best time for completion amongst all the competing teams. There will be prizes awarded to the top 3 fastest teams and the team with the fewest deaths!
When:
All PM times listed are for Saturday, May 28th and all AM times listed are for Sunday, May 29th.
The race window begins at: 5 PM Eastern / 4 PM Central / 2 PM Pacific / 10 PM BST / 11 PM CEST
The race window ends at: 9:30 PM Eastern / 8:30 PM Central / 6:30 PM Pacific / 2:30 AM BST / 3:30 AM CEST
The deadline for submitting screenshots is: 11 PM Eastern / 10 PM Central / 8 PM Pacific / 4 AM BST / 5AM CEST
Winners of the Iron-Man ITF Race will be announced on global channels (Victory Forum, Victory Badges (and 2009), and Victory Limitless) and in this thread as soon as they are tabulated.
If one or more team(s) are waiting to form near the end of the race window we will assist until the queue is cleared, but no new teams will be added to the queue after the 9:30 PM cut-off. This means there is a possibility that a team or two may begin after the listed end of the race window. The deadline for screenshots will remain the same, no matter when your team started.
Where:
The race will take place in Cimerora (Victory Server only). Players who are interested in participating should meet with one of the P.E.R.C. Representatives who will be waiting near the TF contact, Imperious. To enter Cimerora, your character will need to have Midnighter Club access.
Who May Participate:
Characters of any alignment who are level 35+ and able to enter Cimerora. Please note that, since this is a race, level 50 characters will usually stand a better chance at winning and are therefore highly recommended.
Players are allowed to organize their own team of 3 in advance of the event. That means yes, you and your friends can plan to come as a group! Duos and individuals will be matched with other available players present for the event by the P.E.R.C. staff, so even if you show up solo you have a chance to compete!
P.E.R.C. members (from Victory or other servers) may compete as this is an objective contest, but will not receive inf prizes, just bragging rights.
Prizes:
To be eligible for prizes, your team will need to e-mail a screenshot* to: PERC.COH@gmail.com (see below for more details).
The race prizes are as follows:
3rd Place Team: 100 Million Inf. Per Player and a Numina's Recovery/Regen
2nd Place Team: 250 Million Inf. Per Player and a Luck of the Gambler + Recharge
1st Place Team: 500 Million Inf. Per Player and a Numina's Recovery/Regen AND a Luck of the Gambler + Recharge
Team With Fewest Deaths: 250 Million Inf. Per Player
There will also be 10 Mystery Prizes randomly awarded (via random.org). Any player who participates in this event will be entered into the drawing.
Rules & Additional Info:
1) Teams competing in the race will be limited to three (3) players maximum.
Since the TF requires 6 players to start, P.E.R.C. Reps and assistants will be present to provide enough members for a team to begin the race.
2) You must have a member of P.E.R.C. or an approved assistant on your team, as a temporary anchor.
We will only accept entries from teams that had an approved player there to verify a clean start. They will remain long enough for the TF to begin and then drop once the other anchors have quit the team.
3) You can run the TF as many times as you want during the event window.
You are allowed to switch characters and teams between races. Only a team's (and individual's) best time will be considered for judging. For example: John Doe is on the team that takes 3rd place, then switches to another team that wins 1st place. John Doe will receive 500 million inf., not 600 million. The prize for fewest deaths is exempt from this. A team can place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and still win the prize for fewest deaths. If two or more teams tie for the fewest deaths, the team with the fastest time (of those tied) will win that prize.
4) Outside buffing is not allowed.
This means that players caught using secondary accounts or friends to buff their characters before entering a mission may be docked on time or disqualified, at the judges' discretion.
5) The team is allowed to use temporary powers (including powers like Shivans, Nukes and Vanguard HVAS).
We will be doing our best to make sure that everyone who is interested in participating in the race and present during the time window is able to compete, but due to the nature of the event we cannot guarantee everyone a spot on a team. The event coordinators will attempt to create balanced teams with a mix of archetypes, pulled from the available pool of interested players.
Screenshots:
Times will be judged using screenshots.
One player from the team will need to take a screenshot that shows the team window, the XP/Menu bar (the portion that shows TF challenge settings) and the TF completion window with the final time and number of deaths. You don't need to rename or resize the screenshot; just pull it out of your CoH Screenshots folder and attach it to an e-mail. Edited screenshots will be disqualified.
To qualify for any of the race prizes, your team must submit a screenshot to: PERC.COH@gmail.com
Each team should discuss who will be taking and submitting the screenshot, as this will not be done by the judges or assistants. Remember not to close your window or exit the mission until a screenshot is taken and you have verified it contains all the required information. You also need to include global names for each of the 3 teammates.
The command to make the UI visible in screenshots is: /screenshotui 1
The command to disable the UI afterwards is: /screenshotui 0
Special note: The TF window will only accurately track deaths if a Death Counter is selected as part of the TF challenge settings when the TF is formed.
The number of deaths allowed is not important and will not affect your chances of winning. This is why we need a screenshot showing the XP/Menu bar & TF challenge settings: To ensure accurate tracking!
If you have any questions about this or other event rules/details, please feel free to contact a Rep on the forums or in-game at @Madame Pistacio
(note this event begins on Sunday, May 29th if you are in GMT +3 to GMT +13, click here for time conversion)

Quote:That and MP saying (at least i think it was her) that she didnt like calling out Nurse's toon as a target because the toon's name is "Target is Phased" lol.
That was indeed me. "Let's see... Target is Phased. I mean the target is not phased, the target is the target is phased! Spiking the target in three two one spike. The target is phased. No, I mean the target is phased literally!"
I have to admit that blew my mind a little bit Nurse!! -
Quote:Which is clearly LOLable, because in addition to the yearly auction (just for funding Victory events), I fund PERC (on Victory and other servers) for over 10 billion a year in inf and IOs. (For just Memory Lane I put out well over 2 bill in IOs and 1.5ish in straight up inf)
I of course knew what GP meant, but I did laugh when two different people came to me concerned.
And now on topic: After Hami Tonight I am thinking about a speed Kahn into ITF into (maybe) Baracuda. I hate Baracuda, but... I'm willing to try it hard core style. -
-
Quote:He could just sub out the two powers (since they take the same enhancements).I did that on my defender on champion but you have to switch sides and run the patron arc. If this person does this I can remake it for him.
Des- if you want to go red to do this, I will help you! -
In case anyone was confused... GP was saying that he has won several PERC contests (for lots of inf) and that is how he has funded (some of) his builds. I just want to make sure people were reading this right, as someone was worried GP was calling me out, which I know is not the case.

Example of a Psi/Em build with hibernate instead of Phase Shift. I'm not as good as these guys at PvP builds, but this has capped hp (well 2 points away- have another version that is capped without TFC, but this is the cheaper version), good travel speeds, and some recharge/to hit.

Quote:Question Philly-
This is an emp/eng that someone is playing for boot camp
Wouldn't it be better to go with Dark Embrace and Power Boost (Soul Mastery) than Power Mastery? You cap resistance in PvP with both Temp Invuln and Dark Embrace so that's pretty equal but Power Boost has half the recharge of power build up (120 versus 240) and a longer duration (15 seconds versus 12.5). -

Maximum benefit, minimum holes. You CAN min/max on a budget. It's just not going to be extreme. Basically, I love to make builds and chat about it, but I never go all out crazy extreme min/maxing. I just mean, squeak out the most that you can
Oh and having pimped chars is not a requirement at all. Just if you don't want to talk about it or have an aversion to build talk, that means VL is not a good fit. I see you as a occasional hard core gamer. You know how to be hard core and stuff but you don't do it all the time
Oh and GP- everyone on Victory is awesome... cause it's an awesome server. -
Hi everyone! Ive wanted to make a new global channel for over a year and with the possibility of an influx of Euro players (due to server list merge), now seemed like the perfect time. So I have created the channel Victory Limitless.
One of the best things about City of Heroes is that it is a very casual player friendly game. You can do a lot of things solo and you dont have to get into inventions and pimping out your builds if you do not want to. You can run a story arc (or tf/trial) and defeat every single foe on the map if you like. That being said, there are a lot of players (like myself) who have experienced most of the content in game and enjoy the thrill of challenging themselves to create new records, new goals, and min maxed characters that can do things well beyond the scope of normal gameplay.
We currently have three major public channels on Victory:
Victory Forum- an awesome place to chat/form teams/form tfs/join Isolators
Victory Badges & Victory Badges 2009- an awesome place to talk about badges/form teams/form tfs
However, these channels are mostly for more casual play and speed tfs or numbers talk (Mids) are not always popular. I think it is really important that there are public channels to serve every type of player. The goal of Victory Limitless will be to make a home for players who enjoy running fast/hard core task forces, min maxing their builds, getting tips from others, and overall who want to be better players by learning from each other. That is not to say that someone can ONLY run speedy tfs or only run on a pimped out character, everyone is free to promote any kind of fun activities they like.
-In a nutshell-
This channel is for you if
- You like to challenge yourself and want to team with other people who like that to.
- You like to min max or IO build your characters.
- You do not know how to speed tfs or build characters well but youd like to learn from some of the best players on the server.
- You want to have access to a public channel where you can easily tell your friends to join as well.
- You want to learn or teach tips on marketeering (playing the market to earn inf).
- You enjoy fast paced game play with a lot of variety.
- You want a channel that is all fun with a no drama, no BS policy.
- You like to help other players be it teaming, answer questions, etc.
- You enjoy team based play (you can of course solo too and just chat!)
This channel is probably not for you if
- You always want to defeat every single foe on every single map.
- You want nothing to do with IOs or the auction house.
- You like to cause drama.
Just to reiterate: this is a public channel, anyone may join (players will only be removed if they violate EULA or the no drama/no BS policy). You do not always have to play speedy or hard core, just if you enjoy it. There will be plenty of opportunities for all different types of play/content/chat. All PERC events will be advertised on this channel as well (in addition to other public channels!).
You can join Victory Limitless by typing /chanjoin "Victory Limitless" or by sending me a PM or tell (@Madame Pistacio) and I will invite you. Other mods will be chosen as well.
Thank you for reading! I <3 Victory!

Quote:Yeah, Victory Badges is full and will stay that way until they get the channel timeout feature working. Not sure why they implemented that and then haven't followed through on its bugs, but hey... par for the course with some issues in game.
It works... the mods in VB are just not using it correctly. It is not retroactive. So if they set it for 2 weeks and then leave it alone, a bunch of accounts will be removed. Then they could set it for two years afterward and anyone who got removed could rejoin if they wanted to (assuming they return to game).
