  1. Confirmed by a GM that praetorians levelling to 20 do not unlock epic archetypes for whichever side they happen to choose.
  2. Hey, I'll keep this simple

I play a lot of the game at stupid 'clock mainly, and was wondered if there were any people out there who wanted to start a brand new char (preferably VEATS or Khelds) so that they could enter a levelling pact.

I level while I'm on and sane (and not drunk) and you do the same when its convenient for you.

I realise restricting this to EATs may put someone off but bear in mind it is to give us a common chain of commication and help each other as we go

I'm particularly open to any newbies who want to start a levelling pact. Please contact me on @Mackie, and we can discuss the particulars (or send me a forum pm)

    Love and peace.

Please note : I may not be around 7pm onwards until approx 10pm today (wednesda) UK time as I will be attending my lodge and there may be alcohol involved

Also: If I get or insufficient responses, I'll relocate the thread somewhere else, perhaps HEY, PLAYER WANTING TO HELP LOWBIES GET TO 20 AND BUILD CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP AT THE SAME TIME.
  3. Petitioned and got a response from a GM to a FAQ page -

Praets cannot unlock any of the hero or villain EATs, a fact which I find most troubling.

    ~sigh.
  4. How strange :

I managed to level two characters to 20 : one hero (and subsequently got the message for epic ATs unlocked - and have been able to tool around with kheldians in the creator) and one praetorian ( I selected villain, have gone through the portal and I'm standing in the rogue isles)

However, despite getting the epic unlock message on the praetorian, and relogging the toon (showing as level 20 on char selection, as well as a lovely little villain icon) I am unable to make VEATs.

Should I petition, or am I missing something - (please dont tell me I have to go and do tips to fully reinforce my villain AS a villain...)
  5. I will keep on going, yes.

Thanks for the quick reply - anyone else in a similar position and able to provide full closure?

    Thanks!
  6. As title, I'll keep this simple. I've looked back through a number of pages of threads here and cannot find a single definitive answer

If I (as a player with NO characters above 20) level a praetorian to level 20 (and subsequently end up blue or redside - fully hero or fully villain) - will I then be able to go back and make a corresponding E-AT of that particular side?

This confusion arises because I have seen conflicting posts on the point. One even apparently had heard it from a "GM" but I have not been able to see the actual quote for myself.

    If yes - groovy

If not - I find that a little unfair. Yes, the Praets get a nice shiny new starting zone but after that they're back in the real world ( I would quote some resistance propaganda about peepers and sheeple but it makes my eyes bleed)

So, community - yay or nay?

    Thanks.

    SG/VGs on union

So, I checked the stickies and there dont appear to be many SGs or VGs registered

Are there fewer on the server?

I've been considering starting or at least trying to find somewhat of a brotherhood type SG/VG (I know the VG element would be stretching it a little, but with the alignment system, it could be a little more tolerated)

Initially, brotherly love, relief and truth come to mind, but I don't quite know how well it'd equate into the ingame systems.

All in all, I just want a group o' people that I can chinwag with, go beat stuff up with and occasionally faff around with.

  8. As per title, I'm having a hard time deciding between two (sets) of powersets on a new baby brute (would that be a bully?)

    DM/DA
    DM/SD
    SS/DA
    SS/SD

DM/SD and SS/SD have both been highly recommended, but I was also trying to weigh up the pros and cons of the other two - perhaps to see why they weren't as supported or looked positively upon.

Specifically, I'm looking for reasons why I'd take <one> over <two> or vice versa.

    Any comments that may help?
  9. Nobody knows me, but I'm back.
    (and looking for hugs.)
  10. Hi, returning player. Subbed, bought GR and downloaded the client. Logged in to Union and had a look at the list of people looking for group - I was shocked to see that it was in the region of around 40. I know there are a number of people who avoid showing up, but even still, that seems to be an incredibly low number to me (granted, its currently 4am, but still, with a massive expansion I'd expect a huge number of people at all times)

Is it like this normally, or is there a huge surge likely in a few hours when people get out of their sleeping chariots. If not, I can forsee me buying a NA version of GR and moving to somewhere like Virtue.

    Concerned returnee,

    Thanks
  11. I see, so the archetypes (brutes, tankers?) using those power sets are the most frequently encountered (in your opinion - more peoples opinion would be nice to have :P)

Funny, I'd have thought the more blastery types would be common.
  12. Indulge me please, if you went full hero/villain, could you then go back down/up the slippery slope ( and would that then re-lock the EATs?)

(Oh, and I have no idea what SS/WP etc means, sorry!)
  13. Hello folks, I'm a returning player ( I think I played last around about the time before anniversary, a little after architect came out) and I was looking for a few hints and tips on the following :

What, presently, are the more desired / seldom seen / "If I could click my fingers and magic something up, this would be it" archetypes

Conversely, what are the opposite, the all too commonly seen ones?

I understand that player satisfaction is greater than how many people play that archetype, yadda yadda (I'm complicated, m'kay? :P)

Oh, another thing. I heard they lowered the epic Archetype requirement down to 20, but reading some posts people were saying that only non-praetorians can unlock them, but I read another post apparently quoting a GM saying that a praetorian who (bear with me here) goes fully to paragon city or rogue isles WILL unlock aforementioned epic AT. This right?

(Disclaimer - I'm waiting on the game to download so I have no idea what most of that means)

Final thing - since I'm returning but will likely be low level (dont think many of my toons broke level 15 before) are there any major super..group..thingies (I dont know the term for villain supergroups, or if the praetorians have one) on the EU side that I can chill with.

Oh, addendum - to the EU folks, Onion or Defunct, which one is more swinging nowadays. I think Onion was before, but I'd just like to make sure.

Uhm, thanks for reading, if you read.

  14. I heartily support the Handies.

I've been with them just over a week, and they're a thoroughly agreeable set of people.
  15. I sent an email in game from character Angry Commissar, but haven't had any kind of response (positive or negative)

Please let me know if you're still looking for writers, as I'd still be very interested and enthusiastic in proceeding with this on a volunteer basis.

Grab me on @Mackie or Angry Commissar or Rage Commissar on Union.
