If it weren't for facebook there would be a lot of people from high school that I wouldn't be in touch with, and for that, it is an amazing tool in my eyes, no matter how bland or useless some might see it as.

People from around the world come every year. It's the biggest and best of its kind.

Folks who have taken the time and made the effort to come to the con will get the benefits of the event. It's exactly like ingame earnings - just because one character got some thing on their badge list, doesn't mean all characters do. Sorry if you're not going to attend, but it's called "incentive".

Yes, I do know that; however, it is not exactly like any in-game earning, because in-game earning won't cost me hundreds of dollars that I don't have for plane tickets, the actual event, hotel etc.
It isn't like the wedding pack that was a measly $10.

Like I said, I know that no one gives a [censored], but I think that everyone should have access to the same in-game items.
