I generally see a stalker close up and drop the trops in their AS motion and then aim and open fire.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Razai I really hope that you don't rely on this tactic all the time, it may work often on the Virtue Server but you wouldn't last 2 minutes on Pinnacle.

Trops don't work on teleporting stalkers, if you're setup to just wait for a attack from a stalker it's best to use mines....but beware of tp foe!
  2. When I had a game problem, game issue, or question I could always count on you to help, Thank you very much for always being there when we all needed someone to keep us from pulling our hair out.

You will be missed , good luck on your new adventure

    Just a heads up:

I have several devs reading this thread, and are working on the bugs you guys are finding, and on ways to improve the Mayhem Missions (such as making the end Hero non-random; currently the end Hero you get is totally random, and has nothing to do with anything you did in the mission, we are looking into changing that).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool thanks Positron for the heads up

    You can't kill the civilians!?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah and what's worse is they only get in the way when you try to target a enemy.

I hope it's just a bug as well
  5. [ QUOTE ]
It's not like they flip a switch and suddenly all objects in missions are destroyable objects.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I know that I was just saying it could be done over time, and everywhere not just missions (you know giving a hint to the devs of something to consider for the future)

    [ QUOTE ]
You do get bonus time, in fact it's where most of your bonus time is going to come from outside of the side-missions. How many objects did you destroy? You don't get bonus time for EVERY object... I think you need to destroy so many of an item type to get bonus time.

Unfortunately you either got a bugged mission or didn't do enough mayhem to get bonus time.

Hey, let me ask everyone this, for those of you who didn't get bonus time, what zone was it in? Wondering if maybe one of the instances is bugged.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The team I was on for two of these missions did not get extra time for destorying objects (and we wrecked a lot of stuff).

To answer your question as to what zone... Kings Row and Atlas Park were the ones we did when this happened.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
You might want to take another few passes at these missions again, and read up through the thread and/or the previews of the Mayhem missions. We do, in fact, get additional time for destroying objects in the missions.

For some reason, either by design or through current bugs, the time awarded isn't completely consistant. For example, blowing up -several- cars usually gains me a three minute bonus, as does several crates. But a single phone booth, mailbox or newspaper vendor usually gets me a minute. (All for the -first- time these things are destroyed. After that it all gets very vague and confusing. ;p)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I will do that, I just find it a little odd, I did two of these missions (with a team of 3 including myself) and the same thing happened on both...the first was the kings row one and the 2nd was atlas park.

    [ QUOTE ]
I have to admit, though... currently what destruction nets what bonus... and what level of hero is intended to spawn after the bank raid... is pretty opaque to us. On live that's not nesecarily a bad thing, because it keeps us guessing. On test it's a little more of a problem... do we need to /bug the time awards and the boss spawns, or are they working as intended?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't know maybe we should /bug it , couldn't hurt
  7. [ QUOTE ]

Generalizations for the win! Because clearly younger games cant enjoy puzzles and/or logical problems, and mature gamers cant enjoy a smasher/shooter type of thing.

You may not like it, but dont lump people into catagorys. Mature gamers like smashing stuff just as much as the younger crowd, and vice versa. [ QUOTE ]
So... these older, more mature gamers that I'm apparently not part of... Baby Boomers, I guess? I mean, they'd have to be to be older than me.

Also, I have to wonder if you've played the same missions I have. Quite aside from the fun of smashing things up, this is easily the most dynamic mission type there is in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]
Well first, I'm happy, at 39 to be a part of the younger players, it a relief for me everytime I hear I'm a young man.

Second, if they are not EXTREMLY fun, I admit that mayhem missions are fun.

Third: it was said from the start, and clearly presented in the mayhem trailer, that these missions were a bank heist WITH endless smashing. [ QUOTE ]
Love seeing personal oppinion stated as fact.

At what age does one become an "older more mature gamer"? 'Cause I gotta' tell you, this 30yo has a blast with his mayhem missions, if for nothing else them showing growing tech and usage of that tech in game. It opens up so many doors on what can be done with this game over time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Generalizations were not intended, and I was not trying to lump people into category, but smashing stuff would be better if there was more of a point in doing it (other than we are villains)… like a reward or even some (all be it a little) xp for and item that is destroyed or even extra time…something.

Have I done mayhem missions? yes
As far as personal opinion being stated as fact…it never was nor intended

Points that were over looked in my last post:
1: all they really are is a bank heist and a cape mission rolled into one…except the only big change is now you can break things (which could be done for the entire game not just select missions).

2: Mayhem Missions are helping draw in a bigger fan base (this was a complement).

I also said “older more mature gamers need more than mindless smashing.” what was meant by this is we need to get something out of destroying objects…be it little xp (even if it‘s very little), or even more time this would be at least something. (as it stands right now we only get extra time for not getting caught ( by beating the good guys up not for destroying objects).

-Testers encourage PlayNC to hurry up and fix the (minor) bugs in these missions and send them to the live servers, because they are awesomely fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're kidding right? awesomely fun? not even close
Mayhem Missions don’t differ much from a mindless shooter or a hack and slash, all they really are is a bank heist and a cape mission rolled into one…except the only big change is now you can break things (which could be done for the entire game not just select missions).

Mayhem Missions are nothing more than a crumb being handed out to draw in a younger crowd (which seems to be working), older more mature gamers need more than mindless smashing.
  9. I don't really think Pulling is a lost art but some ppl get to excited (or jump the gun) and aren't willing to wait.
I myself love it when a good blaster pulls and does it right (no aoe’s or taoe like fireball) that is one of the biggest complaints they say they will pull and then use fireball……hhhhhmmmm that will pull alright it pulls the whole group.

Tanks….nothing better than one who can do herding , I’ve been lucky to team with a few that can do it, I don’t remember the mission but we had a team of 8 and the tank was herding each floor and we all ganged up on them as they stacked….needless to say the mission went fast and nobody died.

But pulling being a lost art, I hope not but there are a lot of ppl that don't know how to do it (even if you try to explian it)
all in all there are still some good ppl that know how to pull out there...the hard part is finding them.

I would LOVE to see the fitness pool become an inherent. LVL 6- you get hurdle, LVL 10- you get swift, LVL 14- you get health, LVL 20- you get Stamina, all of these powers scale to your lvl.

[/ QUOTE ] I would love to see fitness become a inherent as well this is a smart idea if you think about it, fitness is natural and not really a super power plus this opens another pool power slot.

End drain, from what I’ve seen so far tanks and blasters burn too much endurance way too fast unless you slot endurance cost reduction which takes up too much room (at least 4) on your slots. Now I would not want to slot endurance cost reduction early on in the game the powers miss enough already, I can see maybe slotting endurance cost reduction at lvl 35+ only because you get 3 slots at a time, but as things are right now you have to pick your poison when starting out in the lower levels, no end or miss a lot.
