  1. I guess that means kin/ for a stalker isn't that great for pvp? Thanks for your help.
  2. Yeah I figured one of the /regens would be my best bet for something I already have. How are stalkers in pvp now? I was thinking of making a kin/regen, wp or maybe even electric? stalker for pvp, or perhaps an elec/therm corr. I was planning on doing mostly zone pvp, but I haven't really gotten my feet wet yet so I don't know what I'll like.

  4. Hey all, I've been around the game for a while, but I haven't really done any PvP in a couple years. I remember seeing a ton of ice/rad corrs running around and they seemed to fair pretty well, but I guess something has changed because when I asked the sg they just said anything /regen or an elec/therm corr.

    I'm was just wondering if you could give me an idea of what can fair well at PvP. Is it a little more well rounded now where most toons can do fairly well if built properly or is it pretty restricted to only a few builds? I've looked around the forum and saw a lot of different build requests and such, but didn't really see anything as general as I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. There are many FM/SD builds floating around the forum. Here's one particularly in depth thread by Fury. All the builds are pretty good and even if they don't fit for what you're looking for they will give you an excellent starting point for your budget.

  6. Thanks, I appreciate the input. What you said actually was very applicable, perhaps not so much as you intended, but it lead me to a conclusion, which is what I wanted lol. Given that if I'm having such an issue with DDR there is a good chance that I will have the 8-10 baddies to use EA with, and given that even with defense debuffs, my their chance to hit will average around 7.5%, it shouldn't be an issue to concern myself with, given inspirations, team buffs, and the possibility of overlapping EA.

    I guess the fact that only one responded probably means that ice tankers haven't really had an issue figuring out just how much def to get from set bonuses, aside from soft capping if possible. Thanks again.
  7. I've been working on a new ice/fire tanker build and was having issues deciding on how much def bonus I want. With my current build I have S/L, NRG, and NegNRG at or near the soft cap without energy absorption, but I was wondering if that was enough. I know ice doesn't have the best DDR at around 59% if I remember right. With energy absorption, (8 baddies affected), I'll be at around 53% for the defenses I mentioned. Taking into account defense debuffs and the level and types of mobs I'm fighting, should I aim for a bit higher just for padding? Or will I be just fine even when facing mobs with a lot of defense debuff?
  8. Hey, thanks for your input. I don't think I was clear with what I wanted. With your build it does soft cap the def w/o taking too much away from the resists, but that's not what I was after. I'm ok with my defense not being all the way soft capped because I'll probably stick with pve so there's a good chance I'll hit the soft cap from a teammate being in range of PF.

    I was hoping somebody could help me maintain around the same def/resist, while adding to regen, hp, recovery, and/or rch. Sorry about not being clear. Any help would be appreciated.

  9. I made this build for PVE mostly and I like it, but I don't have much experience with making builds so I'm sure there is room for improvement. I didn't really want to sacrifice too much with my resists either. I like have the extra padding. I'm not completely satisfied with my regen, +hp, or +rch though, so any help would be appreciated. By the way, I know a +3% def Gladiator would help my build, but I don't have the resources to purchase a 2+bill IO. Thanks for your help.
