    Null and void.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Hey all.
I would like to ask you all something a few of my friends have discussed recently.

I made a fire/psi dominator not to long ago, thinking it would be fun to play. Until I found that farmers tend to go for fire/psi dominators. Which put me off a playing it. I also have a fire/dark corruptor which I love playing, but now I hear farmers like them sets also. I have even had a few requests to help farm while standing next to the BM.

A friend also made a new SS/WP brute a few days ago, but was told farmers like to use them sets to, which has put him off playing it. Another friend has a level 50 fire/kin controller, but finds it boring to play. I see so many fire/kin controllers and fire/psi dominators that those sets have become null and void for me.

Have you been put off anything in-game?

P.S I know farming is a sensitive subject on these broads. But please lets try and keep this sensible.
I have nothing against farming at all, its just not my thing. Each to their own.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you need to stop worrying about what other people do and just play the chars / game you want to play mate.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
If there really not important, why do you spend hours farming for them, or why do you care if there not allowed in the competition if there not a big impacting thing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nobody is going to waste hours and millions of inf respeccing them out just to do this.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Congrats London, so how many 50's does that make now?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats the 19th one i think
  5. What makes you go for level 24 for middle weights?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
But doesn't revamping a zone always include some new content anyway?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He said visually, giving a zone a new set of bit mapping or what ever its called dont add a lot of content no.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I'll give it a test. I assume, since it's a defence item, it takes up your turret count?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The tech version is a box that sits on the floor with a big bubble round it (the bubble animation is borked, it only works when you first place it) Anything in the bubble is protected, as apposed to an energy shield that you attatch to a turret.

It does take up 1 of your allowed defence slots for the room.

So that's what I was doing wrong - PUGs. Oh well, thanks for the info.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You dont need shivans, but they make it a lot easier.

Warburg nukes make it quicker too.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
And how does one accomplish this feat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

In few words, one of team dies, everyone draw a shivan, cast vengence on the dead team mate so it buffs the shivans, eat 4 purple and 4 orange insps, then charge them.

Target Numina 1st as she can rez. If you still have problems, send me a PM and do a run with us one night.

    Good luck

I dont get this build. I guess, judging from your choice of travelpowers, you're trying to make a pvp build but pvp'ing with lethal weapons is like trying to take out a tank with two rocks and a nail clipper. Willpower is sorta an outlasting powerset but you will burn out fast with both hasten running and no end redux what so ever in any of your powers. Okay, granted you have some but those are in your toggles. Basically, a rule of thumb when it comes to slotting end redux is that 1 end redux in an attack power is as effecient as 1 end redux in all toggles combined. Even if you got a damage aura in your toggles which are quite expensive it is nothing compared to the cost of your attack powers.

More specifically you do not want any end redux in toggles unless as a last resort. In addition, dual blades is an odd breed, either you drop hasten and focus on having two comboes you alternate between in one seemless attack chain, or you make sure that when you activate hasten you can settle for one combo over and over again, possibly with one extra attach thrown in in between.

You generally slot your attack powers with 2 acc, 3 dam and 1 recharge. This will not work. As said earlier you will burn out of end fast. You need to get a feel of the comboes. While some attacks in a combo might need 2 recharge to keep up other powers in the same combo might need none.

Never ever slot combat jumping with end redux, it costs 0.06 end per second always slot either jump or defense depending on needs.

Dont slot resist in high pain tolerance, those 3 gives what, 1 % more resist? Waste of slots. Settle for 3 heals and be done. The to-hit debuffs in RttC doesnt do much but many like the slots for that anyway, your choice.

Dont waste 40k inf putting anything into boxing, forget you have that power.

If you indeed plan to pvp with this spec you might wanna consider taking medicine pool over fighting. If you do not wanna pvp just remember that immobolizing stuff makes them immune to knockdown and it will be alot tougher on /willpower to keep up, especially just with standard slotting like this.

While I can understand you didnt take the self rez I fail to understand why you didnt take your GODMODE power. It's quite handy for willpower.

Uhm, that's it I think. Good luck.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didnt find any of those end problems with my DB/WP brute, i have got a small amount of end rdx in my attacks, less than an end rdx io would give though, i also have hasten.

I do have the equivelent of an end rdx in my toggles, coming via io sets.

The 3 or 4 other DB/WP's that leveled with me had no end issues after getting stamina and quick recoverery that i remember.

I suppose different people have different problems though.

It wasn't so much they were "Talking behind my back" it's just every move I made or didn't make they talked about it on Skype.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How do you know they were talking about your every move behind your back on Skype, out of curiosity?
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I can say I have seen aggressive players in-game - the main problem with these people is just that they can't accept the truth. If you tell them what a power can do, they may whine and grooan and spam "You're wrong" all over the team chat.

Aggressive players need a bit of common sense, and need to calm down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some people dishing out the advice/orders on how to play other peoples chars need to calm down a bit at times too
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Ok. I'm entitled to Sands of Mu,the blackwand, the axe whatever, the little Elf thingies that buff me etc etc but not a purple enhancement?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, they are rewards for your loyalty.

    [ QUOTE ]
What exactly are the awards about then?
    How would you differenciate?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Veteran rewards are a reward for playing the game for a certain length of time, they should be unique-ish, not things you can buy anyway.

Otherwise they might as well scrap them altogether (which i know is what you think is a good move) and just give us a badge instead.

I'd just like to add here that i dont care about the vet rewards one way or another, i think they are fine as they are, but i wouldnt care if they scrapped them.

    [ QUOTE ]
And I've been saying that the reason I think a purple MIGHT be fair is because anyone can get them but they're nice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And that defeats the idea of unique vet rewards.

    [ QUOTE ]
As you may notice, I, and my opinion counts here because I'm one of very few players on this side of the pond who is a 51 monther, am against vet awards that are inaccessable to anyone else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats fine, just dont accept any of the rewards you are offered from the badge menu, and your concience will be clear.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Ahem. It's like this. if I drop the game, as I have, its common sense to stop paying. And Physcologically, If I do that, it's easier for me to distance myself from the game entirely.

In other words, I was kind of done with CoH but the fact I kept paying for it enabled me to log on again and get rehooked. In other, other words, the vet awards worked on me exactly as they were supposed to.

If I went to Sainsburys not Tescos then Sainsburys would get my money and Tescos wouldnt. And If I got used to going to Sainsburys maybe I'd drop Tescos entirely.

So, if you follow that logic both Tescos and CoH are quids in because of their loyalty cards and awards.

This really isnt worth debating about. It's straightforward business sense.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And what im saying for the 5th time is this.... if you decided to stop shopping at Tesco because of a health scare, the club card aint gonna change your mind.

    [ QUOTE ]
If I went to Sainsburys not Tescos then Sainsburys would get my money and Tescos wouldnt. And If I got used to going to Sainsburys maybe I'd drop Tescos entirely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whats that got to do with anything?
All that means is the Tesco club card alone wasnt enough to keep you in tesco, and you went to Sainsbury which is what im saying.

Same as when once and for all you decide to stop playing this game and move to WoW, vet rewards aint gonna, alone, keep you paying.

"Kind of done", aint finnished playing, "logging on now and then and getting re hooked" aint finnished playing either.

Done is done, when you aint gonna play no more.

Then if you want to carry on paying your subs for a game you dont intend to play again, just to get some vet rewards that you wont see, because your not playing anymore, thats great, a minority action, but none the less great and im happy for you.

And you can have the pleasure of saying vet rewards worked remarkably well on you.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
This is a weird one for me. I'll be a recipient of these awards as saoon as thery come out yet I feel a bit odd that I can get things that others cant have literally for years to come.

My personal opinion is that the entire direction of awards should change.

For example, while I dontr think its right that I can get objects noone else (nearly) can aquire in the short term, things that offer me bragging rights are welcome.

Also, perhaps, I'm that little bit more entitled to a purple enhancement maybe?

These are gifts that anyone can aquire. Its just I get 1 every three months for free. I think thats a pretty good way to keep the vet awards going without all the heavy thiunking about what to do next time etc etc.

And maybe the small assist the purples give my 50s is reflective of my time in CoH?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your no more entitled to extra purple recipes than me or anyone else who's beeen here from day dot, or a year or 2 days.

Just go and buy them, thats not what vet rewards are about.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
You're missing the point a bit. Take my wife for example. (Please. )

She tells me to go shopping. She tells me to go to Tesco not Sainsburies and take the clubcard.

See, if it weren't for those loyalty bonuses I may well have gone to Sainsburys.

Now if I decide to dump Tescos entirely I may not even factor the clubcard in. But while I'm a "floater" the card swiungs me and my family there.

And I also have dropped the game for several months and kept the subscription running because of the awards.

Going deeper, its possible the awards aid retention because, If I werent still paying I'm not sure Ide have gone through the whole regimarole of re signing on. As it was I just logged in once then twice and before I knew it I was hooked again.

So there is a logic to them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No you missed the point or didnt read what i said.

When you are swinging or on a break, you aint finnished using a product or service.

Vet rewards dont make up the only reason someone plays this game, or keeps them playing.
