A thanks shout out to Window From Hell on Freedom server tonight.
After helping each other complete the zone mission for the Shiva pet, we had a great duel in Bloody Bay that ended in us knocking each other out at the same time. Most helpful Arachnos I've ever met. Our cooperation and friendly battle are going to have me smiling for a week. Thank you for talking me into a little PVP, Widow From Hell! -
I know someone is getting good use out of this, for the listings here are selling for 1 inf. Trilled to see it!
Here are a couple more for your enjoyment...

Agree with Grouchybeast. The biggest downside to the forum change for me is that the Guide To Guide is confusing because of the old format scattered throughout (examples: [/b],[/list], [u] ) and useless because the links do not work. Have to dig through threads for them.
The Dev Digest (and Community Digest, I presume) are known issues being addressed, for which I am grateful. -

So give it a try, they're waiting for you. You heroes deserve the treat. -
Sounds like a good tip to always try a 1 - 15 inf bid if there are items to sell and no current bids.
Like Fulmens, I welcome the competition!
While we're peppering the Market with goodies, I'd also enjoy hearing more success stories of snags and steals you bought for 1 inf.

While busy saving everything in the multiverse, lots of goodies get dropped my way. Most of them I can't use. So I thought I'd start up some gifts to The Market.
In this thread I'll sporadically list what new Recipes and Enhancements are up for grabs at your local Consignment Market. Everything is listed for a cost of 1, so everyone from the Power Seller to the newbie's first Market venture can afford them.
Use this as you will. Flip it for a profit. Sell it back to a store for the same. Equip it on your character. Horde it for a rainy day. Frame it and hang it on your mantle. Whatever you wish!
Yes, yes, I know that means I'm selling at a loss. I'm having too much fun littering the Market with gifts to be stopped by that little detail.
- Format -
Type:
(level) item [quantity]

(45) Invention: ToHit DeBuff [1]
Feel free to join in with news of your own gifts to the Market. The single rule is that they can only have a cost of 1 inf.
Reminder: Blue side, red side, yellow side, double-digit servers... all can join in listing here for the Market. With the i18 Market Merge anyone can bid on the listing of any other player.
You don't have to be logged into a specific zone to have access to these offers. You just have to be quick. If you try to bit on an item for a cost of 1 and it doesn't immediate let you buy, someone else got there first!
Tip: Copy/Paste the Item Name into the search box in the Market top left corner in game to quickly locate the item.
Bonus: I'll also be flooding without notice Inspirations and Salvage as Easter Eggs. So be sure to first "test bid" at 1 to see if there is an extra waiting for you. -

Zenitheon's story is complete. Her introduction was made June 2, 2005, with interaction beginning twelve days later was an epos that ended today.
There were many great sources that created and fed the story for that heroine of Paragon City.

= = = = = Farewell = = = = =
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you.
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend.
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you...
Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good
And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share
And none of it seems to matter anymore
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better.
And because I knew you...
Because I knew you... Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good.

===================== Epilogue ============================
= = = = = Another Day, Another Job = = = = =
The medical orderly had to step in the way and grab the Dr Resident by the shoulder to get her attention. "Whoa, there!"
The black-haired woman glanced up from the stack of charts she was flipping through. "Harry? What is it? I really can't delay, there's tests in the lab that need monitoring before a long-term patient consultation in an hour and..."
"And you are going to let the staff and interns do their jobs. When was the last time you had a break? Nine, ten hours ago? Go on, there's a delivery waiting in your office you should take care of." Doctor Raven raised an eyebrow, suspecting one of Harry's pranks. He just took the stack and shooed her towards the ER wing.
Now the medical physician had received a great many strange packages during her years in Paragon. She was not expecting to find a calico cat napping on her keyboard. Closing the door walked closer and spotted a pair of potted plants behind her desk with as many packages next to the feline. Looking for answer, she opened the envelop addressed to her and started reading the letter.
After the first page, she left the office and returned five minutes later with a super sized coffee, a bowl of milk, and plate of hospital food. The letter was slowly read twice before she started in on the remaining stack of notepad paged filled with the scrawled story of the alien elf she had declared responsibility for.
Some hours later Raven finished the letter for a fifth time and sighed. She looked down to her lap to where the cat had relocated. "Well, kitty-cat, I am to take care of you now, am I? Or you me. You know their going to have conniptions about a pet staying in the Chiron Medical Center?" It purred in her lap as she alternately scratched behind the ear and under its chin. "Well, being adorable won't solve all problems, but we'll work something out."
The calico lazily swapped at a leaf as Raven lifted the smaller pot to her desktop. The label was examined and with an incredulous look to her lap occupant she questioned, "Catnip? Of all the parting gifts Zenitheon, or rather Nightdance, gave me catnip? I don't remember that sense of humor in her." She shook her head, then addressed both plant and animal, "Alright, Catnip, let's get the rest of this taken care of."
A few more hours and she'd located information needed to forward the second plant and package to its intended recipient. Calling it a good days work Doctor Raven left the grounds, Catnip bundled up with her inside the long coat as they headed home.

Theme Song: Walking through the empty age by Yoko Ishida/Hajime Mizoguchi
Why that song? I haven't seen the show this was written for, so the quiet guitar, simple piano, and slow lyrics formed the impressions that encompass the small elf. The first four lines are more my view on what happens as we write the Whitmoore Apartments (Open RP) thread. The following verses so beautifully tell of the healer's past... and her fate.

===================== Origin ============================
= = = = = Discovery = = = = =
Doctor Raven hurried on her way back from a rare 24 hours at home. Down the sidewalks she set a stiff pace towards the tram that would take her to Chiron Medical Center in Atlas Park, the rain darkening streets to match the water-heavy clouds above. The sudden downpour had caught her unprepared and she clutched her coat tighter while the late November rain did its best to melt the mound of snow nearby. Wait a moment snow? There hadnt been a snowstorm in Paragon City yet this season.
Raven swung around, heels skidding in a shallow puddle as she raced back around to the alley entrance. There half-buried by abandoned trash was a small form curled up into a fetus position that couldnt belong to anything but a child. The skys attempt to give her a second shower for the day forgotten, Raven dove alongside, brushing at the loose newspaper to reveal the tiny backside. With the realization that the newspaper had been the only thing between skin and rain, Raven froze with shock for a moment before shucking her own trench coat and covering the quivering shape. Brows furrowed and irritably she pushed back the namesake hair as she felt for the pulse: weak yet strengthening. But the tan skin was rapidly draining of color, the shaking wouldnt stop, the helpless thing was filthy, and already soaked through.
Curse the MedCom system! Why didnt doctors get medical patches to let them get to their own emergency rooms in a hurry? Because the doctors would just use them to get to work quickly and not because they had actual emergencies, can the quick irreverent thought. This child needed an ER, and needed it now! There wasnt time to wait for an ambulance. Swallowing a mega-meal sized lump of pride, Dr Raven yelled out as loud as she could, I NEED A HERO! Wincing at the cliché words, she let out the breath shed been holding when a flash in the sky changed directions and alighted next to them seconds later.
Not giving the hero a chance to even introduce themselves, Raven jumped up with the shivering form swimming in the long coat. We need to get this one to the ER, now! Her eyes cannot contain her gratitude enough when the hero grabs her on the shoulder and activates their MedCom connection, instantly bringing the three to an unoccupied teleport pod. Luck was with her! They were just down the hall from Ravens own hospital office and the ER rooms. Leaving the hero to follow as they would, Raven dashed down to an empty room shouting orders to the startled staff as she passed.
Trying to be as gentle as possible while all but dumping her package on the table, she pulled back her coat, the florescent lights revealing more shocks that the dark alley had hidden. She took in the obviously mature female figure and pointed ears that were still half-hidden under the brown hair trying to pose as a rats nest. Finally voices talking to her snapped her priorities back in line. Mumbling an apology, she took the towel and began vigorously drying off. Meanwhile the staff responded to her earlier orders, easing the girl from Ravens coat and draping a sheet over the unresponsive body before beginning the short battery for blood samples and x-ray tests to try and determine what level of emergency they had on their hands.
Glancing around to see who else was free to rope in, Raven quickly spotted the hero standing out of the way near the door. Thank you so much for your help! Raven offers her hand; glad to see someone had gotten a towel to him as well. A reply introduction accompanies their handshake. Could there be any more luck left for her both this year and next? Like the rest of the senior staff, and most all of Paragons medical centers, she was very familiar with his name. Please, Black Mirage, could you take a look at her? Obviously shes alien, and Im afraid that even basic medical attention will be harmful.
Offering a small nod, he sits down in the chair offered at top of the bed, quickly lowered so his elbows could comfortably rest on the table. His hands completely covered the elfin ears on either the side of the tightly-closed eyes. The lightening emitting from his own eyes turned smoky as he focused into the supine form, reaching out mentally. And found the way in unimpeded. A delay from surprise at the lack of the normal defenses, he looked around. Streaks, like slow flashbulbs, momentarily painted the black abyss with blurry images of lab coats and sanitized walls. Even those were becoming infrequent. Lingering a few moments to watch, Mirage withdrew and internally sighed while standing.
In the short minutes Raven has fetched an energy bar to replace any reserves that might have used. How bad is she? Raven asked as she went to hover over the body, worry trying to furrow her brow even more as she watched the color continue bleach a white to rival medical codes.
She is doing fine. A headshake at both Raven look of disbelief and the color-change taking place, he continued, I am not sure what the skin and hair change is about but her mind was slipping from a nightmare into a deep healing state. Take a look. She has stopped shivering and is as relaxed as could be asked for someone without them being in a coma. Her body seemed to only be cold, there werent any signs you would expect from hypothermia or infection.
Raven sank into the chair just vacated, sighing, Oh, thank heavens, as her nervous energy abandoned her.
Pausing, Mirage continued just a shade cautious, his voice containing the strange echo as if saddened by what he said. Her mind is just this side of a paradox. There was great structure that already knew what needed to be done to recover. But it was also strangely simple and... empty. As if it had only had little to store. Dont be surprised if she has several of her memories missing.
Blinking a few times at the unexpected turn of conversation, Doctor Raven finally nods. Please accept yet another Thank you from this grateful citizen. I couldnt have asked for a better hero to respond.
A quick report of Black Mirages info to the staff member, wasnt that Harry?, composing notes for a new file and then Rose waved at his departing form. As the front door closed behind, the main desk receptionist could hear the waylaid hero reassuring a frantic Super Group that he was on his way to help with the bombs ticking down. ((Got to love timed missions!))
Finding fuel from another nutrition bar hastily consumed, Raven follows two other orderlies and Harry to a private recovery room where they washed the street grim off as gently as possible. When they pulled back the sheet, the doctor expelled a harsh hiss of shock. Under the dirt a rash was well on its way to a cherry red. Something in the laundry or sanitizers must be causing a bad reaction, was Ravens erroneous conclusion. They would have to let the small alien recover somewhere besides a hospital mattress.
After untangling the hair until long strands of white remained, Raven worked her way down. She struggled several minutes to open a four-fingered hand locked around a scrap of silky fabric almost as gray as they storm clouds outside. Conceding defeat, she washed as much of the fist as possible before finishing the rest. Coming to a decision, Raven directed the girl be settled on her own office couch. And if sheets were not recommended, then neither would be sensor patches.
Filing out, Harry offered a parting shot as Raven buried herself in a search for any useful information related to the strange white form across the room. Welcome home, Doctor Resident, he laughingly danced out of the room, introducing a closed door to the pencil thrown after him. Imp, Raven though as she took a stack of printouts to the corner recliner. The staffs nickname for her was easy enough to understand, as Raven rarely left the hospital grounds, usually catching only a few hours of sleep at a time. Sleep that shortly came unannounced to rename the recliner as Bed.

Zenitheon - SC35D Empathy Healer (Powers)
.
things fall apart
so other things
can fall into place

===================== Powers Overview ============================
((OOC: Details on the most frequent ways Zenitheon interacts.))
Zenitheon should have been a naturally born proud warrior, laughing with the other hunters as she took point in the battle charge. Because of genetic manipulation as a test-tube baby, the potential of unlimited healing unlocked, she was designed to keep heroes immediately around up and going. It left her an organic generator of energy, regulated to the back lines of conflict.
= = = = = Aura = = = = =
Ever wish you could take one of those blue or green crystals with you that the Circle of Thorns hang around? Zenitheon's presence aura is stronger than both combined, flowing outward to touch any in a twenty-five foot radius. Like with the sun, anything non-living will cast "shadows" in the spherical area of effect. For example, it is not felt through walls, floors, or windows.
Incredible boost to healing, strength, and defensive resistances are the passive benefits of being nearby. ((In game terms, anyone nearby has permanent doses of RECOVERY AURA, REGENERATION AURA, CLEAR MIND, MANEUVERS, and TACTICS until they leave the area of effect.)) Unfortunately just like the crystals her aura is completely impartial in its effect, benefiting friend, foe, flora, and fauna with equal strength. Only with extreme effort she can suppress her aura, but it is like holding your breath, becoming exponentially more difficult each second.
In addition to this large area healing, a close shimmer of white light radiates from the small elfin form. This visible aura does little except reflect the state of the larger aura. On the rare occasion Zenitheon tries to suppress her aura the light will fade down to the ever-present arcs of light at her shoulders.
= = = = = Direct = = = = =
Zenitheon does have the ability to consciously send out cords of energy to her chosen targets as well. The types are recovery ((HEAL OTHER)), consume damage ((ABSORB PAIN)), boosted resistance/focus ((CLEAR MIND)), greater attacks ((FORTITUDE)), dramatic recovery ((RESURRECT)), and even able to keep running a lesser reflection of her aura to one target a distance away ((ADRENALIN BOOST)).
For all of being able to strengthen others, she is not designed to boost herself ((unable to cast CLEAR MIND, FORTITUDE, or RESURRECT on self)), but can accept the strengthening energies of others. If she DOES ever get the damaging attention of a FOE, her self healing is so sloppy that it spills out as much to those around her as working internal repairs ((HEALING AURA)).
= = = = = Level = = = = =
Zenitheon's Shaping, healing as it is called in Paragon, works on a rare level. Here is her version of reality the defines her powers.
Most medications affect the chemical level, therapy such as massage manipulates entire tissue groups; words and social interactions happen in the mind; and some metas/specialized physicians work on the genetic level. In the different levels of the body dwells the spirit, the soul that defines a person. Like an electro-magnetic field that emanates from the body, the spirit also puts out an energy: the aura. Chakras, aura reading, shiatsu points, etc are definitions of this aura. Most importantly, it is on this aura level that memory is stored, affecting both the spirit and the body, and being effected by them in balanced tensegrity. The further back a memory occurred, and the more traumatic the experience, the more deeply ingrained it becomes in this level.
So, when Zenitheon's energy pours into, or interacts directly with her specific focus, it is to affect this aura, which then directs both the physical and spiritual well-being. This direction not only provides instruction, but the energy to carry out the needed change. And, if needed, the ability for the body to encase and process out (breath, digestion, sweat, etc) those foreign things that cause it harm. Often the use of her powers has an accompanying scent, either as a side effect or for its contributing benefit. So while not harmful as the MedBots/MedPorts that just poor a ton of raw energy into the body, it usually has as effective results. She does have some limited ability to interact on the electro-chemical level.
The drawbacks of working at this root level are few, but potent. If someone does not believe in both the energy Zenitheon provides and their own ability to be healed, then they are not. ((In other words, if the storyteller doesn't want to be healed or effected, they won't be. The energy dissipates, flows out, or otherwise has no effect.)) Sometimes there are side effects: flashbacks, soberness, old scars fading, reinforced mutation, rejection of implants are a few known ones. And it might be possible sever over-exposure - something much more than regular teaming - will cause immunity, addiction, or both.
The biggest limitation is that Zenitheon can only *restore* what the body believes it should have. At least for now, she cannot help others grow eagle wings, become ten feet tall, or otherwise make additions.
= = = = = Touch = = = = =
A human is partially dead, such parts as hair or micro-tears in muscles, and meant to be that way. Indeed the largest organ, the skin, is layers of dead cells in a defense against foreign pathogens. Every cell of Zenitheon is alive. An effect from constantly creating energy unnaturally prevents her cellular death. The fabric that clothes her is a second skin, and now even her cape is a part of her. She is as capable of consumption as much through her fingers as lungs or digestion. Yet the nervous system has an amazing ability to filter out sensations to prevent an overload, so she only sees, hears, smells, and tastes the same ranges as most others; though strong scents have shown to have a larger impact than normal.
Direct physical contact is something else. Touch from anything alive -to any part of her- is a much more intense contact, and the resulting energy transfer isn't something Zenitheon can help. A surge will not happen if the energy has a directed healing purpose. It happens in a law of osmoses from her overabundant alive state to the partially dead recipient. The surge of warm healing, undercut by a pulsing heartbeat, is such a shock that others jerk away in instinctive defense. Only cats seem to have an inherent attribute that exempts them from the surge. From this Zenitheon believes she should not have others touch her.
Thankfully, the slightest barrier such as a shirt will dampen or prevent a connection from forming. With large efforts of healing she becomes more susceptible, and can even have an allergic reaction. Both reason and more are why she usually heals with a space between her and a target, anywhere from a few centimeters to several dozen yards away.
= = = = = Network = = = = =
Z is connected directly into the section of the MedCom network that tracks heros active MediCom patch readings for location and health status. ((In game terms, she knows how to use the Team Search function very well, and she can always see hero names/health bars.)) To her, the information comes across like a lattice of ley lines spreading from the nodes around the city. So why, if all heroes are connected to an emergency medical system can't the city just pump healing through directly? At one point Zenitheon tried to merge with the network for that very purpose. But quite simply, it isn't strong enough to support that kind of load for the thousands of heroes.
This connection is from another genetic manipulation, redirecting strong telepathic abilities into the overall program to locate and care about the registered heroes of Paragon. Originally designed to be a hacking ability, the addicting overuse forged a bond so the information is always visible if Z looks for it. Severely stunted, she can still mentally speak without difficultly, if someone else establishes the conversation first. When she first entered Paragon, she had some mental control to cause damage. At the same time her connection to the network became involuntary, she also lost her conscious ability for psychic attacks. Can Zenitheon break free of her programming? Who knows, but it will not be possible as long as she is dependent on the network bond for locating registered heroes.
It would seem natural that Zenitheon uses the network to teleport. Her ability to jink is actually one of the few parts of her heritage unmodified by scientific meddling. It and the ability to hover were unlocked from sheer frustration at the limits imposed by a well-meaning mentor. But even this part of her heritage has been tainted. Those that do not believe they can be translocated are not even aware of an attempt to pull them nearby.
= = = = = Cost = = = = =
The universe is one of balance. There is a price to pay for every effort. The larger the effect, the greater the cost.
Zenitheon generates endless energy. But even the sun has fuel for its fire. The small elf can convert almost anything. Inorganics such as metal, plastic, or rock would take a great deal of effort, and are almost never used. Things that store life, such are fruits and vegetables, are easy to process and do provide a small source. Other organics, such as processed food, tend to require as much energy to process as they provide. In the end, matter provides a negligible impact. The source for Zenitheon's endless outpouring of energy is experiences: Her memory. It is doubtful she will ever run out of this powerful source for life perpetuates more memory of interactions. Even with the ever-present need for healing energy, the demand is far outweighed by supply. But some memories are wearing away. And a few are already irretrievably gone.
===================== Game Descriptions ===========================
= = = = = Empathy Defender powers = = = = =
ABSORB PAIN [Ally Strong Heal, Self Moderate DMG (Special)]

===================== Background Summary =========================
((OOC: As seen on the in-game background tab.))
She is not here for the villains. She is not even here for the citizens. Her birth was unnatural and never meant to be. Zenitheon was created in a test tube from a unique genetic sample discovered in the Arctic Circle for one purpose: To help the Heroes of Paragon.
After months of accelerated growth and training, she finally turned on her creators. With a blast of mental anguish from her recessive genes, the lab-coat doctors were knocked out long enough to allow a stumbled retreat, disoriented from her own backlash. Wishing to know her origins she headed north with plans to later finish revenge against her unknown creators. Had their twisted intentions truly been for good… or to learn how to harm other Heroes? She had not even been able to learn that.
But her programming could not be so easily eluded, and instead Zenitheon now wanders the city, serving the Heroes that patrol there.

I haven't hosted an in-game RP event before, and only was part of one small event some months back. But there is some advice on the subject in Burnsie's thread An Idiots Guide to RP, if you look under the last section 2.2 Storylines.
Good luck on your event!

Finding your way:
Get off the tram in Steel Canyon's southeast corner, and your home sweet home can be found northwest from the exit archway. Slipshod suggests to go stand on the roof at /loc -4205.9 228.1 1613.2 [[1958386]], and you can get from the roof corner to top of the tram with one good superjump bound. Or you could try the front doors at /loc -4146.5 -100 1600.0 just 248 yards north-northwest of Yellow Line in Bronze Way.
There are a few details that have evolved differently in the story from than the picture. The biggest is that all apartments have balconies or are connected to a fire escape. The other big one is how the number of stories and floor numbers have warped a bit over time; part of the flux from all the heroic energies, no doubt. Clearly there are sixteen floors of windows for apartments when looking at the building, yet that number will not likely match the numbers used by the storytellers. Like any good story, these little details change over time. No one is likely to try to make such inconsistencies fit together. Lastly, most people have the stairs going up from street level, instead of down; too minor a point to worry about.
The Whitmoore also has recently installed security guards who double as doormen to check IDs if Mr. Green is not around. A police drone also now has permanent duty outside the front doors. The police, fire, and ambulance departments are on fast dial, due to some previous problems with small and large-scale violence in the building. For a while, a few groups or hordes of villains were lobbed into the building when a storyteller got bored. One of the reasons for the "don't destroy/damage" the Whitmoore attitude currently in place. That's not to say that it can't happen, but it shouldn't be anything less than a serious plot development. There are strong reasons for the precaution, for otherwise some less-than-wise posters would turn the Whitmoore into a pointless, illogical battle zone where nothing makes any sense.
Currently most damage has been repaired. The building look pretty good, although parts are still old or run down. A few construction crews can been seen modifying various apartments, as the moving tenants have arranged. Also, not too long ago a flood of ghosts were let loose in the building [[2305423]], but they've been quiet for the last bit.
Entering the lobby:
The city has a policy of checking all ID cards [[587467]] before allowing admittance to the building. Mr. Green is the doorman and manager, working the day at the front desk by the main doors. He's an elderly dapperly dressed gentleman with exceedingly good manners, discretion, and strong sense of decorum. He is also one of the few common-pool characters that anyone is free to write for, within his personality and duties as outlined.
There was a row of elevators [[587467]] that somewhere during various constructions got reduced to one - currently not working again [[3158729]] . Additionally, a nearby door is open to the stairwell that climbs up the inside of the building, with multiple landings between the exit doors at each floor. The stairwell ends in a door access to the roof.
The rest of the main floor is taken up with public bathrooms, laundry room, a small eating area that also hosts the vending machines (snacks, soda, ice) and a free coffee machine, with other general table/chairs/etc scattered around the generous open room. Also mailboxes for each apartment are located here, with a directory of the current residents posted publicly.
Moving in:
If you haven't already gotten your apartment, go to Mr. Green to present your registration for an apartment (usually from City Hall). Alternately, he'll have the forms needed to register before giving you a key to an apartment. Apartment quality is highly variable. Some people choose to start with the more run-down rooms, others with decent ones. A couple have even given themselves penthouses (thankfully rare).
The city doesnt have the money to fully furnish every room to the owners liking, since the hotel took all their furniture when they were bought out. Utilities are free [[587467]], so there never is worry about water or electricity. But many new tenants make some adjustments by dipping into their own funding to better suit their own personal needs. Just remember that it is a historic building, so refrain from too many extreme modifications to the facade.
Meeting the other tenants:
Amongst the heroes, most are willing to go unmasked and trust their fellow heroes discretion. Some have secret IDs, some allow the public to freely know all about their life. Some go masked all the time (in one case, because of a mutation). But mostly people give their hero name and a common/first name if they are comfortable with it.
Introduce yourself slowly. Let people get a feel for who your character is, how you write, and how often you are committed to posting. Don't force an intro right off the bat. Coordinate with private messages (PMs) when you do start interacting. Almost everyone will respond positively to PMs for advice, and coordinate with you as you make an effort to fit in.
Learn some of the others history, even if you can't draw on the information until it comes up again in your part of the story. Do read the thread backstory, or at least start working on it. Some plot threads go back a good half of the 530+ pages, and a few of the current posters go back even more. It's important to at least have an idea of what is going on. While it isn't necessary to read the whole thread (a task that can keep you from having time to post your own segments) it is highly recommended. At a minimum to go back and read at least SOME of it. Very little is more irritating than someone who jumps on and outright says "I'm not going to read any of it, but here I go!" To see what is considered even more offensive, learn the basic do's and do not's of role play (RP).
Finally, meet the other storytellers online! The in-game global chat "Whitmoore Apts" was created [[2414111]] for everyone to join.
