  1. “William and I are friends and colleagues. I met him when we attended Paragon University and we founded K-Tech industries together. There’s not much else I feel I need to tell you so please excuse me.” Before Linn could finish the last phrase, he had already turned and entered his office.
  2. "I live here. What does that have to do with anything?" Linn replied.
  3. "Working where?" Linn growled. His face didn't show the anger that was obvious in his voice.
  4. ((Actually, if Archlich incased the box in ice, he's already inside because the box was inside. So we'll just say you already opened the door and incased the box in ice.))

"What do you think you're doing?" Linn exclaimed, turning to the two following him.
  5. As the TacOp passed near the well lit building on his way to the shadier building, he could see a dozen PPD cars and a couple of ambulances. Chances are maltans toting rifles among other weapons wouldn’t be welcome there. Soon he was close enough to his destination to see a silvery figure, Archlich, just in time to see the knight weave a spell that opened the gate.

There was nothing peculiar about the feather except it was big(about two feet long and a few inches wide). The spell easily opened the gate but the single reenforced metal door leading into the lab might not be as easy. And yes, not very far inside was a metalic box where a hum could be heard.

    ~~

Linn didn’t answer Curtis and continued on his way to an office. On his way, Linn passed the TacOp that was searching around the library.
  6. Around the laboratory building was tall fencing with a pair of magitech robots ‘gaurding’ the gate. At least it appeared that is what they were there for, except they were deactivated. The gate was still locked electronically as well as the door leading inside but that shouldn’t be a problem for Archlich. As he approached the gate, a few feathers could be seen scattered along the grassy lawn. Large brown and grey feathers, too large to be from a bird that naturally lives around.
  7. “No matter,” Linn commented to Hal and Es. “If you’d rather not see him before you leave is not an issue of mine. You must excuse me now, I must attend to other important matters.” With that said, Linn walked down the hall toward the library fully expecting the group to go home.
  8. "Yes, the demonstration has been canceled but you are welcome to stay inside while the issue is resolved," the robot monotonously stated. The robot hovered aside so 2.0 could enter the lobby with what was left of the group.
  9. The map would show four buildings, all spaced out along the property. The main mansion was near the center of the whole enclosure but slightly south, the banquet hall which was north east of the main household and separating the two was a golf course(among other things), the laboratory building which was farthest north and sharply west from the front gate was the guest house.

“That information is unknown as it has been lost or damaged. Is there anything else I can help you with?” the robot inquired.

    ~~

Linn looked up toward the stairs that Ian had just taken then back to Hallucinogen and Essex. Although his emotionless face didn’t show it, Linn was quite annoyed by these guests. “I know just as much about this as the magitech robot who just answered that gentleman over there,” Linn answered as he adjusted his box-frame glasses. “I did not witness nor was I anywhere near the banquet hall during the incident. I was in the library, checking on the collected data on the cleaning droids, which must be done every four hours. They were acting peculiar...not taking orders like they were programmed to, just as they are now.” Although the robots were happy to answer any questions or give directions, they continued their duties of tending to the estate over anything else.

“Now, I suggest you talk to Ian,” Linn continued matter-of-factly, “Perhaps he’d be able to sincerely apologize for your unnecessary journey here and for your abrupt departure.”

    ~~
[EDIT] The magitech robot that was helping Archlich turned to the gentleman at the door. "Greetings sir. Is there something I can assist you with?" the thing asked Experiment 2.0((Almost forgot to say something to him...))
  10. “The incident occurred in the Banquet Hall at approximately 7:05pm although the time is undetermined as information on the incidence is damaged or inaccessible. If you’d like, I can give you a map so you can visit the location after the investigation is complete,” the robot stated to Archlich and began printing up a colored map of the estate.

    ~~

The TacOp that finished up in the library noticed a crystal-like construct floating near the ceiling, although many others would be noticed around the rest of the house and estate.((I’ll PM some info on what you find so you can choose what you want to write down.))

The other TacOp found that the area around the home was not shortly transverse. After rounding the house and moving through various shrubs and fencing, he could see two other buildings in the distance. One well lit building, nearly the size of the main mansion which was a bit to the east and another building almost twice as far which was not as large, only one story and seemed dark and dreary compared to the other which was straight north.
  11. ((Good, I was planning to move him toward that way, but you're still pretty cold. Here's something I was planning to give you because I know I wasn't good at hinting at it:

^Hint^The main incident didn't even happen in the building everyone is in but a seperate building on the estate. That's why I had the robots offer maps and that's where the detective went.

^Advice^Speaking with pretty much anyone around will give you a better grasp on the situation than you have now .))

“Thank you for visiting the Kelly estate. Have a nice evening,” the robot said lifting the captured TacOps and moved him outside the door.

The other TacOps opened one of the doors in the hall which was one that wasn’t locked. Inside was a two story room with books and shelves everywhere, obviously the library. Something that might have seemed out of place would be a machine that looked like it was made out of stone and crystal with a large spiking crystal jutting from its center. Getting near it he could tell it was an information collection device used by the magic bots, mainly because it activated by moving past it. Mostly just information about the occupants of the house, sort of like biographies of them built from searching into the past itself, would be found as well as various trivial information.
  12. ((And might I add....you guys are *COLD!* I might have to give you a hint because I have made some things too vauge.))
  13. Ian’s plan to stay close was interrupted by a sickening *Sploosh* of some kind of liquid that he narrowly escaped. It was such a narrow escape, he had to boost his speed with a little chakra just to be sure. Ian skid, using a hand to slow him down so he could quickly survey the situation, only to be assaulted by the liquid again. Ian gracefully backflipped out of the way and landed in a crouching position. “That stuff...is that your...? Ewww!”

I find it annoying as well when everyone jumps on some new thread and suddenly two others end up dieing as the pool of players rapidly dries up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm....I don't think I've done that yet. The only thread I haven't posted in was GToA which stopped cause Essex got all snooty and said she needed time .
  15. ((Now I'm even more confused .

*tosses out Merc knowledge and just goes with the flow*))
  16. There was no way Ian was going to let his enemy get away. With just his natural quickness, Ian stayed on Schizo’s trail, dodging and deflecting thorns with his knuckle guards.

((I would suggest a combo attack but all Ian has is melee attacks....mostly at least.))
  17. ((Ah yes. I should have known that but I don't play many MMs.))
  18. ((Just so you know, Ian already left to his room so he might have heard what you said as he left.))

Without a second glance, Ian continued on his way upstairs passing a mysticbot on his way. Although he heard Essex, he wasn’t sure what to say or how to react.

One of the TacOps went walking down a long luxurious hallway that was decorated with various expensive objects, like paintings from renowned artists and even a few modern artists, shiny suits of armor and priceless statues. The doors that he walked by were almost all locked. The other gunslinger entered a large sitting room with various pieces of furniture. The walls were lined with shelves of books which one mysticbot was dusting. It turned to the TacOp, “Welcome, guest. Would you like a map so you can-” It was interrupted by the slug shot to its side. The robot was thrown back but continued to hover. Part of it's side was severily damaged. “Please refrain from violence indoors,” the monotone robot stated as a stream of energy flew at the intruder but energy was meant to wrap around his feet and hands to stop him from attacking.

((I may have to cut down on trying to be descriptive...it's wearing me out ))
  19. The spikes on Schizo’s head didn’t manage to connect with Ian’s fist but the thorn that sprouted from his side got Ian in the leg but caused next to no damage just like Ian’s punches. “Can I have this dance?” Ian asked as he lunged forward to Schizo with a hand. He quickly grabbed at the villain’s wrist in a way that turned Ian’s arm so he grabbed under and around Schizo’s wrist(partially for the next move but mostly to grab around the thorns). Without a split second to think, Ian pulled Schizo closer to him but turned so they were almost back to back. Ian thrust his leg back to push Schizo back to the one-and-a-half pace spacing and into the direction of the urchin attack.
  20. ((Well, Essex can decided to call you up if she wants. Or, if anyone else's characters are linked to Ian who are also linked to Naga then there you go ))

“Missing person and Homicide case. Mr. William Kelly has been murdered and his wife, Sandra Kelly, has been missing since. It appears Mr. Kelly invited a few unorthodox guests, that’s you, to aid in a special project dealing with some sort of magic but that plan has changed.” The detective pulled out a cigarette and began lighting it but a spark of blue energy flared causing the smoke to split in half.

“We don’t allow smoking indoors,” the ever present Linn nonchalantly stated.

Rich smirked and pulled out a blow pop from his jacket pocket and shoved it in his cheek. “Well, anywaysh.....Normally, I don’t like havin’ shmooksh wandering around my crime shcene but thosh robotsh that are all over the eshtate have been shcrewing with all the evidenshe.” Rich walked up to Linn and stared at him accusingly.

“I’ve already told you. Just like the other scientist that have been working on this project, I cannot turn them off,” Linn answered without even being asked. “There must be some kind of override code or incantation placed on them to make them react the way they are.” The magical little bots were attending to business as usual, cleaning and straightening all the rooms and the lawn outside which could definitely interfere with any evidence.

Rich looked away, shaking his head, and turned back to the group. “You guysh look like you’re not completely loony,” he said with a smirk as he eyed the way they were dressed. “Maybe you could take care of them for me sho I can work without dishtractionsh. If you find any more cluesh, be sure to let me know.” The detective walked to the large door to exit the mansion and began stepping out to head back to the real crime scene, “But if not, get out.”

((The detective section of the RP. You’ve got one night to find any info. If your character isn’t motivated to do so, it’s a wealthy person’s mansion, you could steal stuff or just snoop around.))

(([EDIT] Oh, and I'm not gonna walk you through it. You have to explore around the estate, speak with people around or examine stuff. I'll PM info if you find anything.))
  21. “Feint Drop,” came a voice to Schizo’s left. The attacks from the three Ian’s simply passed through the coral creature and its urchin attack also passed through any of the illusions it was aimed at. Soon, Ian's spirit projections faded out. Ian was standing not but a pace and a half away from Schizo, his bokken returned to his belt and his arms crossed.

The instant Schizo began to feel around for Ian’s mind, Ian pelted him in the head with two punches and a kick to his side to break his focus and keep his one-and-a-half pace of spacing from his adversary.

((Feint Drop is a purely defensive technique. I was kind of expecting you to attack or defend against them.))
  22. ((Not too late, can still walk through the front door. Or you could be called in by so and so officer or what not. Stuff is still building.))
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I agree that I wouldn't want to read Ian's views on every breakfast item he eats, but as a solitary example I found the sample entertaining to read.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I might have to try it more often then. Look out lunch, here I come.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Also what is truely doing nothing? Sleeping? write dreams. Meditating? okay that's a tough one. Chances are your character isnt truely doing 'nothing'. I don't think writing the internal thought processes is a bad thing, if there is nothing actively going on write about internal worries, go over how the days events affected the character or what they feel about them, or even write a daydream or fantasy (keep it PG )

Some people don't like writing internal thought processes, I happen to like to. It helps develope the character more to yourself and to others. Not to mention in many of these threads there are telepaths that would know some of these things anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

On the flipside- reading internal thought processes can be *BORING*!

    [ QUOTE ]
Although Ian was meditating to further his spiritual development, his mind shifted to what he had for breakfast. It was toast with a little jam. It was a little dry but less fattening than butter. He wasn't the biggest fan of toast because when you bite it, crumbs get all over your shirt and...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not saying it always has to be that way but sometimes it's not the most entertaining thing to write about if it's not something important or insightful. Another thing on internal thought processes, how many times does one go over the same event from one day in their head before people get tired of reading it?
  25. As the group entered, Linn eyed the gunslingers’ rifles. “Perhaps you should leave those at the door,” he calmly said after he cleared his throat to fully project through the room. When Linn saw Ian sitting on the stair case, he moved over and rested a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “Perhaps you should get a little rest while the investigation takes place. I’ll take care of speaking to our guest ab-”

“Ya mean you haven’t told em’ yet?” a gruff voice resounded from a tall hallway leading into the atrium (if you can imagine a room that tall with a window ceiling and a crystal chandelier). The man looked to be in his thirties, black hair with a bit of grey here and there, stubble covering his chin and a dark brown trench coat that was buttoned closed. “As I’m sure you’ve figured out, this is a crime scene investigation so you might want to watch your step. Never know what clues you could be over lookin’.”

Ian slowly picked himself up and climbed up the stairs. Linn followed him with his eyes for a moment more before turning down to the detective. “As important as this investigation is, Mr. Holms-”

“That’s Detective Richard Holms to you, mac….and with these mystitech robots or whatever-the-hell-they're-called, it’s not much of an investigation at that.” Linn said nothing more so Rich continued. The detective eyed the group, which some looked prepared to blow something up. “So you guys the ones takin’ care of the annoying robots?”

((Hehe, Detective Richard Holms. Cliché gumshoe, with keen powers of deduction and a weird ability to have extremely lucky hunches. If only you could make characters that solved crimes in CoH instead of just…well…blowing stuff up.))
