  1. “Heh, scared him off,” Jase snickered at Ryuu as he finally stood down. When his back was turned, Jase stuck out his tongue and made a silly mocking face as he walked away. He would have continued his teasing if Kanata hadn’t nearly fell over. He had barely kept himself balanced by leaning harder on his long halberd.

Kanata looked quite distressed. He seemed to have broken into a slight sweat and his breathing seemed slightly heavier. He looked over his shoulder at Jase with nothing more than a piercing glance before his attention turned to Ryuu who had now turned to attack someone else. “By the gods, does he pick a fight with everything with two legs?” he sighed and stretched out his arm to pull his long weapon from the ground.

Although that last glance may have had a bit of anger to it, Jase couldn’t help but be drawn in by the fellow. His pale purple hair, most of it drawn high into a ponytail, the several strands of hair that fell over his forehead, the strong arms under the loose sleeves of his keikogi, the faint sheen of his perfect skin that was ever so slightly dampened by perspiration. His intrigue was interrupted when he took notice of the new threat that everyone but himself had already acknowledged.

    [ QUOTE ]
“If you wish to make this ‘fair’,” He chuckled maliciously before continuing. “Then how about a one on one spar? A rule less death match perhaps?” An evil grin crossed his masked covered face.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Jase began to scowl once more at the intruder as if to say ‘How dare you believe you’re stronger than me’ but knowing it was true. He was just about to mock the assassin who knew he was stuck in a corner but Kanata spoke up.

“I will spar you man to man,” Kanata called out confidently. “but perhaps you can tell us why you are here. What do you want, really?” In his mind, Kanata was uneasy with the thought of a full out death match. It just wasn’t his style.
  2. “Uhg,” Kanata groaned, taking the left arm he was using the block Ryuu and using it to massage his right shoulder which held most of the weight of his naginata. He reached over his shoulder with his right hand, sluggishly and laboriously bringing his weapon over his head. He spun it, without much grace mind you, so the blade was facing to the ground then let it fall. The weapon shook the earth quite easily, and the blade sank into the ground, cracking the stone without much effort. “That is much better,” he sighed, still rubbing his shoulder and leaning on the weapon to keep it upright.

Jase raised an eyebrow at the seemingly heavy weapon. It wasn’t an ordinary weapon but obviously was a disadvantage to the user. He returned his gaze back to Ryuu and Kanata who was now speaking.

“I protect no one, not because I choose not to but because there is no one to protect but myself. I’m not going to tell you again, it was I who interrupted your duel. On the grave of my deceased sister (let her soul know eternal peace), I say to you that I threw that stone and if you attempt to take out your misgivings on the innocent then you compromise your honor.” While Ryuu’s voice may have grown less aggressive, Kanata’s grew more stern and irritated.
  3. ((You forgot: Edward Timbers (Me) [Clinic]

I just didn't have any plans to take him to the meet and greet thing.

[EDIT] and thanks for the character compilation.))
  4. My opinion?

When a woman uses Superadine, they get various telekinetic abilities such as mind control, telekinesis, and the telekinetic ability to keep those itty bitty bras and panties they call costumes from flying away everytime someone uses Gale or Hurricane.

So any woman that isn't Sister Psych uses superadine....but that's just my conpiracy theory.
  5. Kanata thought seriously on Ryuu’s words for a moment before shaking his head to dismiss further debate in his mind. He laughed out loud in a mocking manner, although he didn’t seem good at it. “Haha, such superstitions have no holdings in facts. You have no proof that guy has done anyone any harm and without evidence any quarrels over it are meaningless.”

Kanata now stepped around to put himself infront of Jase, his left arm stretched out as a barrier between the two and now facing Ryuu. “…if you are not going to confront me, the one who started this whole mess, then I suggest you move along.”

Jase stood silent, his gaze still unblinking. If Ryuu was still staring, then Kanata’s voice would have sounded as if he was still standing behind him. The voices and breathing of the group of students would multiply and seem as if drawing closer, the smell of fire and blood, the sensation of falling. The senses of sight, sound, smell, touch and to a lesser degree, balance would become less and less reliable so long as Jase could find a connection and exploit it. Although there may be some resistant to his mutant power, he had never met anyone immune to it.
  6. “You are incorrect in your evaluation of the situation,” Kanata said in a stern yet polite manner. “I was not behind your sister when she took the blows, I was infront of her. The rocks that were directed at you originated from my direction but your sister got in the path of the attack before it could get far.”

Jase nodded to himself. That was exactly what he had planned in the first place. He made sure to calculate the force and angle of the rocks so they would bounce off of a tree first and ricochet at the sparring pair, giving the illusion that the origin of the projectiles was elsewhere among the crowd of spectators. It was only coincidence that the one leaning against the tree he used decided to take the blame.

“Besides, I am the one with the pebbles of the same general size.” Kanata strengthened his argument by rolling the little rock he had caught between his fingers then flicking it toward Ryuu but passing two shoulder lengths away from his head and embedding itself in the bark of the tree just behind Jase.

As Ryuu stared into Jase’s eyes, Jase just smirked slightly. Jase leered at the boy before a strange ‘You’d better watch what you glare at’ vibe came from all directions, at least to Ryuu. It may have been slightly hypnotizing but it would definitely seem strange to most. Jase’s light brown eyes remained unblinking as he returned Ryuu’s gaze, like a warning.
  7. ((I wouldn’t say he could shoot pebbles as fast as bullets…he’s still pretty young and unskilled at the time. So long as you don’t have invulnerability powers, the small size and speed could still penetrate a little skin…))

Jase knew he had no place to run. The jig was up and all attention was on him. As Ryuu approached, he didn’t give him the chance to look down upon him and rose to his feet defiantly. He wouldn’t have hesitated to fight although he was unarmed. Fear or doubt didn’t cross his mind or face but scorn was ever present. Jase was just about ready to open his mouth to provoke the swordsman to attack but his actions were interrupted.

“Back off,” came a voice a half a dozen paces behind Ryuu. “If you are looking for the one who threw those rocks, then he is behind you,” Kanata cried as he continuously tossed a stone up and caught it with his right. “If you wish to draw your sword for battle then your opponent is me…” Those that had been watching the sparring lesson between Pyre and Ryuu had now turned and were whispering among themselves about what was going on.

The anger in Jase’s face disappeared. If he hadn’t been so angry for the others discovering him just a moment ago, he would have looked shocked but his face was merely blank. “…otherwise, I suggest you quell your anxious hand and stand down.” Kanata’s face was also not stained with anger. He simply had a serious look, like a man talking to another man about some solemn issue.

Jase, on the other hand, was beginning to show a bit of a stunned expression. His eyes passed from Ryuu to Kanata then back again, wondering who would budge on the issue first.
  8. ((And just to clear the scene up, now instead of two rocks flying at Ryuu and Pyre, there's only one flying at them with nearly twice the speed but less accurate. Whichever of the two who posts 1st can be the target I guess....unless someone stops that one.))
  9. ((Gone? Wasn’t planning to hide.))

As Jase had first took aim with the two pebbles, a flicker of thought came to him. Someone was watching him but he wasn’t sure who yet or how many. All he had to go on was the emotion of suspicion lurking in the air like a faint odor in the wind.

He launched the two rocks and waited, drawing another pebble in his right hand. A girl leapt in the path and prepared to take the two shots. He quickly eyed the trajectory and speed of the pebbles just before they connected with the girl’s midsection and instantly launched his last pebble. The first two pebbles connected with decent force with Toru's ribs and bounced back, exactly how he had calculated. The last pebble was aimed to ricochet off of the first two as they fell toward the ground to keep them on course to the two sparring but he missed one.

The rock that he did manage to redirect ricocheted pass Toru’s ear with more speed than it had started with although now its accuracy had dropped by about 12%. The second of the 1st two rocks glanced off the last one, causing it to bounce back to the tree and reflect toward the sparing pair but on an arcing course.

Before the last rock arced toward the fight, Kanata quickly snatched it out of the air. His black kote cushioned his hand so no damage was dealt to his hand.
  10. ((Okay, finally decided to update but before I do:

    [ QUOTE ]
”She turned and gave a quick appraising look as Sis, Experiment, Leo and Cort.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is there a character named Leo or something similar now? I suppose I’m lost and can’t remember all the characters so far. Anyone care to list them and perhaps the poster that controls them?))

Ian winced at the offensive sound coming from Jaime’s mouth. Fortunately, it was only short lived, the little blue girl quickly closed her mouth to end the noise. “I guess that means you can’t talk…but weren’t you talking to Ella earlier?”

Jaime seemed to be embarrassed and began focusing on her food a lot more. “I-it’s okay. Let’s just try and find something to clean you up.” His hand went for the napkins but he remembered she froze those with a touch. Wash it off with water? Nope. “Any ideas?” Ian asked but quickly extended his hands toward her in a manner to say ‘Wait, don’t answer that!’ “Maybe we should figure out a way to communicate.”
  11. ((Mind if I join the thread? A lot of my characters are melee/physical fighters in some way but I’d like to RP with a few others that use similar characters. I’ve got to warn you though, I only join RPs if I have a story about my characters or a facet of one of my characters that I wish to explore. I’m not going to steal the spotlight or anything, but I do have a little story to tell along with participating with you guys.

From what I’ve read, all of you are really good with RPing. You guys aren’t new to this stuff, are ya? Anyway, I hope the thread doesn’t fizzle out. That would be a real bummer.

I didn’t see any rule regarding multiple characters, so I’m taking the initiative to use two. Jason Morgan is one of my CoV characters that I’ve done a little RPing with but he’s one of my main guys. Datotsuichi Kanata(or just Kanata and yeah, I don’t know Japanese but I was aiming for his family name to mean “1st strike or thrust on the opponent” but I’m sure it’s not…oh well.) is a character that will help make the story.

Also, seeing as I tell a story about my characters in RPs, I generally set the RP on a timeline. A lot of time, people don’t really care but if you don’t like it I could downplay it or just set out of the RP….it’s nothing big and in the big picture is only a few years(3-5) difference from other threads. ANYWAY….on my personal time line, I’m putting it the earliest of any of the RPs I’m in by 5 years but it’s only my personal timeline.))

The chanting and shouting of lessons being taught echoed across the courtyard. The clanging of swords, the thuds of students being slammed on mats, cracking of wood, it would normally motivate himself and peers to persist in their training but not Jase. He scowled under a tree with his back against the trunk. The thirteen year old boy was reclining before a pool that fed the reeds and ferns at its bank (I read and reread the posts and couldn’t find a garden in the pics you provided so sorry about adding something that may not exist).

In his left hand, Jase held a palm full of pebbles and with his right, he picked a single rock and launched it toward the pool. The rock skipped over the surface a few times before finally diving below its surface but instead of simply sinking, the rock continued to shoot deeper, hitting the various fish that swam just a few inches within with a 60% accuracy rate. The pebble didn’t really hurt the fish, there wasn’t enough force behind the rock, but it would cause the fish to scurry and scatter in fear.

Jase had arrived at the school only the night before and already he felt it wasn’t worth his time no matter how good the students claimed to be. His hair was long, black, wild and spiky reaching just below his shoulders. Thick strands hung over his face as he aimed at the pool with only one good eye. When he ran out of pebbles, he pulled some more out of a pocket inside his dingy grey gi, the only distinguishing symbol on it was a yellow crescent moon on the upper left side of the jacket. Really, it was a sun with two beams coming out but he had recently pulled out the stitching to make his own symbol, that which opposes a sun.

“Compared to the stuff that Ryjuta [censored] knows, the stuff here is just child’s play,” he murmured to himself, inwardly angry at himself. He felt abandoned and alone which might be natural because his previous sensei rejected him and refused to teach him anything. He vowed to take revenge but there was no way he could match that swordsman’s abilities and speed. It was impossible.

Jase’s gaze fell on two students that were locked in sword combat. “Heh, playing with swords? How cute,” he mumbled. An idea popped in his mind as he watched a crowd collecting around the two sparring swordsmen. He took two pebbles and rested them on the top of his thumb. With his index finger, he flicked the stones toward a tree after he pushed a stray lock of hair from his view and took careful aim.

Datotsuichi Kanata was standing with his shoulder against that tree, watching the two fight from a distance. The boy seemed about fourteen and his hair and eyes seemed abnormally colored, a pale tint of purple and wearing a black hakama and a deep blue, nearly purple, keikogi. With simple rope, tied over his shoulder and across his midsection, a naginata was suspended from his back. It was adorned with amazingly beautiful crests and its blade shone brightly in the afternoon sun. It was obvious the weapon was precious to him and he cleaned and sharpened it often.

There was only a split second to notice the pebble bouncing from the tree’s bark. Kanata perked up abruptly, his eyes quickly following the trail of the two rocks. With interestingly high accuracy, the two pebbles flew toward Shadow Pyre and Ryuu with an intent to clunk the both of them in the head.

((Hey, Jamie hasn't responded to Ian's last question either. Did you guys miss that one post a page back?

    [EDIT]two pages back.))
  13. ((What about me? I waited all this time too ))
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Ella turned to Ian all of her childish charm vanishing. Her hands were placed on her hips in tiny balled fist.

“And what do you know of lost memories?” Her voice was flat and level with a hint of accusation in it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ian was still leaning down to talk with Jamie as well as Cortianna who was beside him. He didn’t turn and answer Ella right away, giving the impression he was ignoring her. Finally, he straightened up and turned his head in her direction, smirking at her seriousness. Is she mad at me now?

Ian turned back to the other two he was speaking with, his arms crossed over his chest. “I have no past experience with memory loss, personally…” He chuckled to himself as his memories retraced back to recently when he helped a man and his wife that worked for Crey who had some of their memories erased. “…but the truth has an interesting way of being rediscovered when you try to cover it up. That’s justice after all.”
  15. Ian could tell Cortia’s movements the instant her grip loosened on her cup. He took a defensive step away. His mind raced over the situation, taking note of the glowie and her outstretched hand. He was safe.

His mauve eyes pierced hers, searching the flame in her gaze for understanding. But the voice of the flame was silent to him, or he just couldn’t hear it because it wasn't loud enough...or he was out of practice. Although his eyes and expression were blank yet penetrating, deep down a tinge of terror gripped him. Ian’s left hand inadvertently moved to his right arm, which was wrapped from knuckle almost to his elbow. To him, the moment lasted minutes although it was only a few seconds but Cortia finally lowered her hand.

    [ QUOTE ]
"I... apologize. I'm not used to... not hearing the voices. It's left me... on edge." She sighed, "It's not a matter of holes in my memories," She answered him after quickly pulling what he had said from her mind, "Just a single block right after.... they injected me with that damn drug." Her face tightened with rage briefly, "After that day, my memories are clear enough, if clutter by others'. I just don't know anything from before I was 10."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Voices? Can she hear the spirit of fire too or is it something else…something sinister? Ian reclaimed his backward step and just smiled warmly but his purple eyes remained unblinking. “Don’t worry, we’re all friends here. I’m sure your memory will come back to you in time and if you’re feeling up to it, you can tell us all about yourself.”

Ian turned his head to the far side of the room, spying Jasmine and Alissa. He turned back to Cortianna and grinned. He looked down toward the little blue girl and tapped her on the shoulder just to quickly recoil from the frigid touch. Ian hated cold. It might even be considered his weakness but it’s not like a bullet couldn’t do just as much damage. He just laughed it off, “Jamie, was it?” he asked then leaned closer toward her and Cortia.

“How about we go and talk to those girls over there?” His voice was hushed, so the other’s conversation wouldn’t be disturbed. “They seem kind of lonely…and it’s not like I’m nervous to talk with them or anything. I just figure it would be less awkward if I wasn’t alone.”

((Darkie, is Ace in the lobby talking to a group gather in there or did you mean he was in the room with the other guys?))
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Experiment sighed, rolling his eyes slightly. "I don't come to relaxing places of my own accord unless it is my 'relaxing place.' If there aren't explosions or lots of techy-electricy sounds, I am not relaxed. This has Jenny written all over it. Hell, she hid most of my devices so I couldn't even mess with stuff while I was here... Just don't let me near a toaster with a fork or something if you don't want any boominess."

    [/ QUOTE ]

“Boominess? So you can invent machines and words. Your spectrum of talents continue to blind me,” Ian joked and prodded Experiment’s shoulder. “…but you should thank Jenny for making you come here because if I were fighting you, I’d go after that arm like there was no tomorrow. You’ll be at 100% in no time.”

    [ QUOTE ]
Experiment glanced around quickly, his grin spreading yet again, and he lowered his own voice. "Usually, I would have to decline, due to my sister's constant nagging, getting in the way, or otherwise voluntarily ruining my happiness..." He chuckled slightly, and continued. "However, since it appears that she has left me to my own devices for a while, I think I could hang out here for a while, perhaps see how much damage this thing can take before exploding, burning me slightly, and causing a delayed stay... Y'know, hypothetically speaking that is..."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ian pouted comically. “Oh man. You’re no fun,” he groaned then started to break out in laughter again. “I think I will do your sister a favor, though, and try to keep you away from tech. Burning, hollering and ‘boominess’ might be a bit disturbing…(and destructive)…to the other guests.” The destructive part he said under his breath.

Ian’s ear burned at the mention of him near the table. With a glance in his cup, Ian pushed himself up from his chair. “Let’s go get something to drink. You can meet some of the other guests you’ll probably be hanging around with. I’m sure they’re dying to meet you.”

    [ QUOTE ]
Ella shrugged. That was something she was meaning to investigate. It didn’t make sense to her either. “Maybe he is like security undercover or something”

    [/ QUOTE ]

“I wish,” he sighed after he snuck back near the group and poured himself some more iced tea. “I can take care of any villains that attempt to invade the grounds….Experiment could back up my word too.” He looked back toward Experiment then back at the group. “Oh yes, I almost forgot my associate. This handsome fellow’s name is John but he sometimes goes by the alias Experiment 2.0 or Experiment. Maybe because he’s always shocking himself or blowing himself up to try different hairstyles.”

    [ QUOTE ]
"I guess my hair is naturally this color." She hesitantly replied to Ella, "I've not memories of it being anything else." For a second, her pale eyes hardened as she remembered her earlier memories.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Inadvertently stepping behind Cortianna, Ian rested a hand on her shoulder. “So you have memory holes too? I have no idea what type of therapy the clinic has for that but maybe it’ll give you time to hang around with Ella. She suffers from the same problem.” He wanted to make her feel comfortable and accepted but didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable so he didn’t leave his hand on her shoulder for long.

((I was gonna type more but I just got home from work and kinda tired…))
  17. “Haha! You’re such a kidder,” is all Ian said about the ‘girl-thing’ with his ever enthusiastic grin. “So you broke your arm? And you didn’t put a cast on it right away so it could heal? You’re tougher than I first thought.” He laughed and shook Experiment’s hand (the one not broken), glad that he successfully change the subject.

Finally letting his laughter and smile die out, he scratched his head quizzically. “But you still didn’t say why you’re here. Did Jenny really make you come or did you just feel like getting a bit of rest and relaxation?”

Ian didn’t bother to ask Experiment if the seat next to him was taken and without care, plopped himself down. “I’ve met some nice ladies around here in the last few days if you plan to stay a few weeks,” Ian commented before taking a long drink of his tea. After he emptied the cup, he leaned a bit closer to Experiment so they could speak a little softer. “I’m sure you don’t need my help, but if your arm is busted I can try and organize a…few activities for you and some attractive and eligible ladies to help pass the time.”

His gaze centered on Talia then Sis before he let his eyes sink to the floor. “…but I can understand if you’d rather not deal with such a hassle. In which case, I can try to get you a really nice nurse...and notoriously hot.”
  18. At least you made the deadline of July 30th. Thanks for the read. I would have preferred a CoH rendition of Merry Christmas Charley Brown but what can ya do ...
  19. ((Update time, cause I’ve been putting it off too long))

    [ QUOTE ]
Ella stepped around the table to stand closer to Ian and Sis, maybe a little too close to Ian “Don’t be silly Ian of coarse there’s a gym.” Her mannerisms morphed from less girlish to borderline flirtatious. With her delicate fingers she smoothed out a wrinkle in the shoulder of Ian’s uniform. She kept the hand on his shoulder.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At her touch, Ian just turned his head in Ella’s direction them back to Sis. “See? I guess we’ll be able to set a workout date soon but I’ll need to check my schedule. I’m pretty busy but I’ll try to squeeze you in.”

    [ QUOTE ]
“You are completely out of dress code.” Ella rolled her eyes to emphasize the statement. “You should give me your shirt right now” Ella dropped her hand from Ian’s shoulder and removed the jacket from her track suit to trade with Sis. Of course she was completely lying but she really wanted the red shirt. Ella had on a standard white sports bra under the jacket. Her skin continued to be bone white and flawless. Despite past injuries there wasnt a single visible scar.

    [/ QUOTE ]

His brow shot up for a moment at this. What condition could this girl be in for her skin to be perfectly white all over. He dismissed the though when he figured he might be staring. Not staring because she was only wearing a sports bra (he’s seen plenty of heroines wearing more revealing things) but because she looked a bit strange(but strange looks hasn't stopped him before).

Ian literally held his breath when Ella persisted to be near him which was then forced out of him when a relatively strong elbow punctured his side. “Oh, s-sorry. This is Mary but she goes by the name Sis,” he stuttered and motioned to the ‘slightly’ irritated woman beside him.

When Ella’s smooth skin brushed against his as she drew closer, Ian quickly scanned the room for an escape. There was a possibility he would receive a scolding if any of the staff saw him like this so he tried to find someone or something to remove him from interesting yet awkward situation. A familiar face quickly drew his attention, “Is that John?” Ian blurted out loudly. “Experiment 2.0? What are you doing here?” He started walking toward the newcomer, hoping Ella would release him as he went. “What is that thing on your arm? Some new device you thought up?” Ian had the full intent of poking, prodding, and banging on the metal case on the man’s arm.
  20. Ian simply nodded to Sis’ insistence to be called by her nickname. He silently listened to her speak about her dislike of relaxation. He almost felt sorry for her and began comparing himself to her. He didn’t want to mature into a hero that was all business. Being so serious always influenced how one deals with criminals and with a weapon like his, you have to have some compassion for your opponent. He chuckled a bit at her plans to return this favor on her super group, knowing she couldn’t possibly be so cruel to harm her friends in any sort of brutal manner.

    [ QUOTE ]
Sis snorted in a very unladylike manner. “Right. ‘Cause every teenage boy wants to be spending his free time hanging out with a bunch of twitchy Heroes on the mend. I can just imagine how well that goes over with the girls at school.” Sis’s tone took on a false cheer. “‘Oh a date? Gosh, that would be great, but I have to go help some doctors jam a sedative into someone’s arm. Maybe next weekend?’” She laughed bitterly. “Right.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

As he passively listened, he began to get more and more aggravated by this woman. He began grinding his teeth and his brow began to twitch slightly. What impudence! What disrespect! As Sis walked toward the reception table, Ian angrily rose to his feet. He lost control of the grip on his cup and accidentally crushed the styrofoam, leaking several pieces of crushed ice at his feet. Nice, cheerful, enthusiastic, helpful, he repeated to himself.

“I am here because I want to be,” he growled in a moderately quiet voice. He tried his best not to draw too much attention to himself but his mental phrasing technique wasn’t working entirely. “I’m my own man and this is how I decided to help. I could have easily donated a million or so dollars to some orphanage to make myself look good and pick up girls but I didn’t. I don’t appreciate what you’re implying.” He started out in a very angry yet hushed tone but quickly it change with his last sentence being more passive.

    [ QUOTE ]
Sis fluttered a hand to her heart, equally sarcastic. “Oh, would you? That would be so thoughtful.” It only lasted a moment before she dissolved into laughter. “Yeah, whatever. I guess I could get some water…and I really am irritated to be here, Ian. They’re making me go through some horrific sessions tomorrow. I’m not looking forward to it at all.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

With a long sigh, he finally let what she said go and his mood took a complete 180. He laughed lightly along with her. “Fine, I was just trying to be nice…I guess you don’t want my help then….and don’t ask me to sweet talk the staff into letting you skip any part of your relaxing vacation,” Ian said with a smirk and crossed his arms across his chest.

    [ QUOTE ]
“What I really need is to find is a sparring partner. I can’t just take three weeks off, even if I am supposed to taking it easy. Resistance training is all well and good, but it can’t take the place of forms practice. You know? Besides, what am I supposed to do? Punch trees? There’s got to be a gym or something here.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is where Ian instantly brightened up. “Spar!? Oh! Oh! I can help you with that! If you want a partner I’m always ready for a scrap!” He didn’t have to repeat anything in his head to make himself seem enthusiastic and his voice might have been a little too loud. “…but I’m not really sure if they have any kind of facility to host that kind of activity…I guess I’ll have to ask around.”

    [ QUOTE ]
Maybe she could find a phone book and get delivery. Turning back to Ian, she asked, “Any pizza places deliver around here? Or am I stuck with institutional food?” After a slight pause, she added, “And did I violate a dress code or something?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ian’s sly smirk returned and his arms wrapped tighter over his chest. “…but you’re fine without my help…I’m sure you can somehow teleport a delivery man here, which is impossible, or pass around security clearance requests for a few select pizzerias by yourself.”

He followed behind Sis, grinning smugly and got another cup of ice tea. He then noticed another girl walk in and introduced herself near the snack table.

    [ QUOTE ]
    "Hi, I'm Cortianna."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ian lightly patted her shoulder and handed her another cup. “Hi, Cortianna. Nice to meet you. My name’s Ian and if you ever need talk to about junk, don’t hesitate to ask for me,” he said with a beaming grin.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
“Jovial?” Sis smirked. “And here I thought I was showing irritation. I’ll have to work on that.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

“I was being sarcastic. Who uses jovial in normal conversation?” Ian managed to laugh half-heartedly. He figured there was a reason she was keeping her distance.

    [ QUOTE ]
“Nice to meet you, Ian. I’m Mary, but everyone calls me Sis. I’m on ‘vacation.’…And my eyes are up here.” Sis grinned, softening the statement. “You’re part of the welcome wagon?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

He returned her grin with a wider grin, particularly to push back his slightly redden cheeks. “Well, nice to meet you too, Mary. I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself here if you don’t mind relaxing once in a while.” He returned his attention to his tea and shuffled the ice a bit. “Not really but I do everything else that doesn’t require a medical license around here so why not.” Although an exaggerated statement, he did express it in a genuine demoralized fashion.

Nice, cheerful, enthusiastic, helpful he repeated again in his head. “Not that I don’t want to. I get to meet a lot of…nice people so it’s worth it.”

Turning back to Ian, she chuckled. “You’ve got a harem, brother. Lucky you. Just, no ice breakers, ‘kay? I can’t stand ‘em.”

Burying his eyes in his drink, Ian weakly smiled and laughed at the joke. “Hehe, I’m not complaining but I couldn’t possibly get in that sort of mood around here anyway…” …not to mention I’m not suppose to.

“Hey, aren’t you hungry or thirsty? You could get to know some of the people that will be staying here if you visit the snack table…that’s why you came to this little party right?” Ian asked in an attempt to change the subject. “I’m sure you’re not really irritated and don’t want to be here,” he said with a smidge of sarcasm, “or would you rather me get you a drink instead?”
  22. Hmm, that's a good point. Tier up the signature powers that you could divide among your choice.

Gale is lvl 1 anyway, and Stone cages is probably lvl 2 but I don't play controllers. Don't remember if there are any cone sleeps but a ranged AoE sleep(Spore) is available at lvl 10 I think....but who ever takes that
  23. Hmmm, if my signature power isn't a OMGBBQDESTROYALLMONSTERS power, can I have more than one? ^^ and/or not on insane recharge times?

On my Katana/SR scrapper, I'd like:

Falcon Wing Strike- In all forms, it's Gale(from Storm Summoning) but with a katana and doing about 5x more damage(Gale doesn't do much damage...like 3-5 points of damage...)

Viper Fissure- Animation of Golden Dragonfly(jump in the air with katana overhead) with a small shockwave, maybe something like Footstomp or Fault. PbAoE Stone Cages(AoE immobilize) effect.

Foxtail Lightning Blade- I'd like it to start with a PbAoE high damage lightning damage followed by a 45 degree cone that does moderate damage with a sleep effect. But I'd settle for just the cone sleep with moderate/high energy damage.

See? Not uber powers but useful in some situations and gives my scrapper something he can't get anywhere, control abilities (or maybe I just don't care about damage...). I would settle for just one if the recharge was like 3-6min but I'd really like them all at whatever recharge...I just want them.

    Oh, and /signed.
  24. ((Gah, and I thought this would be a slow RP. But I guess 10 really long posts are better than 20 or more medium posts….

    …oh and Happy B-day Pyrria!))

“I’d love to have fun with you! I get so bored here sometimes. They won’t let me help the doctors…”
Ella leaned in and changed her voice to a low whisper “And if you ever need to stay over you can stay with me, but we’d have to be sneaky about it. I’m not supposed to have a roommate”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ian just nodded enthusiastically at the first part but when she leaned in to whisper something he leaned forward an ear to go along with the secrecy. He paused for a long moment before his cheeks began to glow red. “Whoa! Wait! I mean…I’m not…” The smell of an incoming rain storm filled his nostrils and served to distract his mouth from babbling any further. She wasn’t serious of course he laughed to himself, …she’s just a little kid….right? At least she acts like one. His mind raced with thousands of thoughts on the situation but he quickly dismissed them all when Ella left toward the food table.

He took the hand of the new arrival and shook it gleefully. “Well, nice to meet you Talia,” Ian continued with his cheery expression although he didn’t have to force it much in this situation. He followed Talia’s eye toward the reception table then back to her. “Oh, did you want something to eat?” he asked releasing her hand, “…well let’s go see what they scrounged up here.” He then walked over, supposedly with Talia following, and grabbed a cup. After filling it with iced tea, his gaze fell on the small blue girl then to each new person that walked in.

Strange patients we have today, is all he said in his mind, knowing to keep his thoughts as polite and carefree as possible in case a telepath were unintentionally listening. Compared to some of those in the room he looked like a normal civilian although he did have a few strange quirks like his unnatural purple irises and other physical alterations that were not his own doing, which went a long way to color his opinion on other metahumans.

He was about to bend down to talk to the little blue girl but Ella was already busy talking to her. He did notice that she had a bit of icing smeared on her face so picked up the pile of napkins and pushed them in her direction.

Suddenly, Ian felt exhaustion set into his bones but it felt more like stress than fatigue. I wonder if this is what having a job is like, he sighed to himself and retreated to a chair on the far side of the room. He quietly had slipped away from Talia, Ella and Jaime as he didn’t want to seem discouraged infront of them and he didn’t want to leave the room as it might seem rude. So he just sipped his tea and closed his eyes to relax his mind.

It wasn’t his fault really, it was just a bad day for him. He had helped several nurses deal with a particularly grumpy patient (which he had been trained and qualified to help with) by thwarting his attacks and holding him in place until he had succumb to the medication, then another patient had his little daughter visit him and while he was getting his vitals, etc. checked Ian had to babysit which wouldn’t have been too stressful if she hadn’t been a noisy brat. He even had to resort to using that ability to entertain her and keep her from disturbing others. Although violated and exhausted from that experience, Ian still had his scheduled chess game with Mr. Timbres too and that was just up until lunchtime.

Ian let out a quiet yet long exhale of fatigue to relax a few minutes but quickly perked back up when he realized a woman with red eye makeup was probably only three or four chairs away from him. Nice, cheerful, enthusiastic, helpful, he repeated in his head and smiled. “Hi. You look pretty jovial,” he greeted but felt she didn’t want to be there. “My name’s Ian, do you stay here or work here?” he asked after pondering her red Tee shirt and black pants.

“How often do you play with your wood?” She asked seriously, completely oblivious to the play of words there.

“Huh!?” Ian blurted out and rubbed his head vigorously to redirect his attention. After a short pause to collect his thoughts, he turned his eye to the ceiling. “Um..no comment…I mean, just forget it.”

After the terse answer he got for his question, Ian eyed the girl questioningly. “Well, that’s not saying much,” he mumbled, “but I can see you also have reconstructive abilities.” Inwardly he also commented on her simple and childlike personality and her strange appearance but covered it up with a smile.

“Anyway, if you’re ever bored or want to have some fun you can get someone to call me. But don’t expect to get me too early in the morning or too late at night because I don’t really stay here.”

He had started to think about some of the good and bad situations he had encountered during his volunteer time at the clinic but he disrupted his thoughts when his senses began to pick up another presence in the room. A woman to be exact. Ian quickly fixed his hair, straightened his uniform and put on a charming smile to greet her.

“Hello and welcome to this…er, um….meeting thing. This is Ella,” he said and motioned to the girl beside him. “My name’s Ian and I’m here to help out anyone that needs me…please tell me you need me.” The last part he said slightly under his breath through a wide grin and no one probably recognized that part.
