I like this idea. The ability to read a bit more on the SG you're interested in and then leave a message would be good.

I guess either an SG email would have to be implemented or leaders would have to go to the desk to check for messages. I'd be fine with either.

I'd rather the avatars and sig's stay as they are as although it is slightly restrictive it does make for a clean look and I often read the forums from my palm top so clean is good (for me anyway). I know there could be an option to turn things off, so maybe this would solve things if it was implemented well.

What I would like to see is an easy way to show who I'm quoting. I'm not bothered about a link from quote to original post, but automatically adding the name of the person quoted would be good.

One thing I always hated on other peoples bases was finding the correct teleporter for a zone. Villains isn't a problem with only the 4 telepads needed. Both heroside bases I've made a point of the destinations laid out based on zone level so the first beacon you meet is for Atlas and the last is for PI and the layout for the transport doesn't branch.

We spent ages trying to decide how to lay out the TPs and in the end just went for alphabetical with the med bay at one end and the entrance at the other. It has definitely helped us get through the base quickly and saved some of the running around we used to do.

Hey. The Christmas photo's. I took the base pictures at about the same time so Colonel Combat has his Santa hat on in both.

I love bases and I'd love to see more pictures of bases. A couple of us have tried to start pictures threads before, but they haven't taken off.

Below is an overview and some pictures of the various rooms. Any ideas or feedback are always welcome and maybe this'll give others a few ideas.

By way of background we're an SG with six active members and it's taken us just over three years of casual play to achieve this. We've tried to make the base interesting but also practical in layout.

Enjoy.

Base Overview
Entrance - right to the TPs and left to the meeting room.
TPs - these are arranged in alphabetical order.
Small Workshop - this designed as a stop point if you need inspirations having been res'ed. and coming in from the medbay.
Medibay - right to TPs and left to meeting room.
Large workshop - extra storage and workbenches. and some more one, two and three.
Meeting Room - just for fun.
Control Room, and one from eye level.

I'm just bumping a dead thread, because I've got some time to finish this off now and ask GR nicely if he'll do the sticky thing for me.

Any comments before I go ahead?

I'm not going to include the "Defiant Level 50s" post as the old one doesn't work and I'm not sure it's needed.

Also not sure if it is worth posting something about "Friendly PvP on Defiant" or something more general. (Xemulas, I wasn't sure if you were still running this or if it had picked up a following?)

Yes, my second attendance, and was great fun. The bigger team fights are better than the smaller ones IMO.

I'm now curious on doing some team tactics and stuff like that. Just ad hoc stuff depending on the teams formed.

Oh, well. Two weeks to think about it as I can't make next week.

I've been working on some updates as per here.

In fact I've done most the stuff just not had time to post them. I'll try to get these sorted unless anyone tells me not to. Then I'll hassel GR to get them stuckied.

I have no idea how to spawn either of these monsters, but let me know a date and I'll come along it looks like great fun.

I'll make it tonight for my second attempt at PvP. I'll bring my level 50 blaster as I think the odd damage has now been sorted. Also, I can go and kills some Trolls on the way.

Sub Heading: Rip It Up and Start Again

I’ve been thinking of ways to improve (re-vamp) the Defiant Heroes forum as there seem to be a few new players kicking around and it’s looking more tired than a tired thing that’s been up all night. The things I’d like to do are:

1. Unsticky (get rid of) the current sticky tread titled “What's On - Heroic Defiant (Updated 21 December)”.

2. Have a new sticky thread with a brief into' to the server and descriptions and links to the following in it:

Super Group Recruitment Hub – a new thread to replace the one that’s kicking around at the moment.

Defiant Level 50s – I’m not sure what was on the link as it doesn’t work anymore, but if it’s feasible I’ll happily host it and it can be linked from here.

Defiant Hero of the Month- Something new where people can have a hero on show. A new hero each month. A template will be provided.

Defiant Channels - Details of channels and how to join them. (A bit of duplication of what’s in the new player bit, but I thought it was worth it.)

I’d love some ideas and thoughts from people if they have the time (via here, or PM or email (found on my personal web site) if you don’t want to be public about it). I’m happy to do the work etc. and get it all organised. While I’m a busy man if it’s done correctly this shouldn’t take up too much time.

Questions: Should I do this? Are there good reasons why this shouldn’t be done? Is there a better way? Will this mean too many stickys (six)? Do we want to do anything different with the Level 50 list? Does anyone have a copy of the old one? Should we have a featured SG base of the month as well (might be an issue if raids start up again)? Is stickys spelt stickys or stickies?

Yep. This is true. 2 odd years of playing and I've seen her once online. Until this point I thought GG was just a forumite. (Then again she wasn't fighting. )

I like the idea of rankings and leagues. Can I be in the little league?

Tuesday I can't do every week, but I will get along when I can. I've also spoken to a couple of SG friends today who are interested, I'll pass on the details.

I've never PvPed, and I don't think my builds would be any good with PvP, but if it's on a night I can make I'll call in and watch.

Maybe I'll learn something and plus I think any player organised stuff should be supported.
