Defiant Heroes Forum - Version 2
I'd much prefer them scrapping this crappy slow loading ugly forum and having an actual nice loading, NICE to look at one.
With updated topics as it should be + what uve listed above fits perfectly. BUT it won't happen
It's a post and for that alone it's shiny.
Nice. When you're done don't spose you'd mind looking at the villains one too?
Noes Mighty! NO! Villains ftl
I'm just bumping a dead thread, because I've got some time to finish this off now and ask GR nicely if he'll do the sticky thing for me.
Any comments before I go ahead?
I'm not going to include the "Defiant Level 50s" post as the old one doesn't work and I'm not sure it's needed.
Also not sure if it is worth posting something about "Friendly PvP on Defiant" or something more general. (Xemulas, I wasn't sure if you were still running this or if it had picked up a following?)
Right, he said in a determined tone, Im bumping this and updating some of it.
Those who are interested have about two weeks to offer any input otherwise Im doing what I want (well, obviously not really ).
1. Unsticky (get rid of) the current sticky tread titled What's On - Heroic Defiant (Updated 21 December).
2. Have some new sticky threads to cover the things that players want to find out or the things they should be told. These threads and the text for them are noted below.
Descriptions of the other sticky threads mentioned above:

Super Group Recruitment Hub
A Super Group (SG) can be great for helping you find people to team with, it can give you access to storage and teleporters, to various zones and can be somewhere to resurrect when youve been killed rather than going to the local hospital (very useful in zones that dont have a hospital). A lot of Super Groups also have links (known as coalitions) with other groups so if there is no one in your group who is online there might be others in the coalition who are interested in teaming with you.
Have a look down the list below and pick one you like the look of, and then make contact.
For those groups who would like to place their details on here, please find below a template you can use. You dont have to follow it perfectly, but some constancy will help people read the list. Many thanks to Captain_Solaris for the design of the template.

Defiant Heroes
For those who have a hero on Defiant and want to show the character off to your fellow players, heres the place. Youll have to place pictures on PhotoBucket or elsewhere. The template is designed to give a standard layout, but you dont have to use all the fields, just those you want to.

Defiant Channels
What are global channels?
They are channels you can use to speak with players across the whole game (Hero and Villain, but EU only) no matter which zone they are in and no matter which server they play on. Generally channels are set up for specific reasons on specific servers.
Putting Channels in Different Tabs
If you find it confusing to have all the channel chat appear in one window you can create different channels in separate tabs and place them around your window. Just click on the little numbers (1-4), edit the tab and detach. See this picture as an example.
Joining the Channels
Simply type in the chat box:
/chanjoin <channel name goes here>
For example if you want to join the DefiantBadgers channel just type /chanjoin DefiantBadgers
Once you have joined a channel it will work for all your characters.
How do I Talk in a Channel?
The channel you are going to type in can be picked from the list that appears when you click on the current channel name in the chat entry section.
You can also send text directly to a channel by using the channel name. For example:
/DefiantBadgers, Anyone badge hunting tonight?
What Are The Channels I Can Join?
All of the channels have miscellaneous chat and banter in them, but try to keep most of the conversation on topic.
DefiantBadgers: Ideal for those looking for help getting different badges or badge hunting teams.
Defiant Events: Look out for regular task forces or just shout up if you are looking for players doing a specific mission or Task Force.
Sub Heading: Rip It Up and Start Again
Ive been thinking of ways to improve (re-vamp) the Defiant Heroes forum as there seem to be a few new players kicking around and its looking more tired than a tired thing thats been up all night. The things Id like to do are:
1. Unsticky (get rid of) the current sticky tread titled What's On - Heroic Defiant (Updated 21 December).
2. Have a new sticky thread with a brief into' to the server and descriptions and links to the following in it:
<ul type="square">[*]Defiant Friendly PvP[*]Super Group Recruitment Hub[*]Defiant Level 50s[*]Defiant Hero of the Month[*]New Players on Defiant (direct link)[*]Defiant Channels[/list]
Descriptions of the other sticky threads mentioned above:
Friendly PvP on Defiant somewhere for Xemulas to post ranks etc.
Super Group Recruitment Hub a new thread to replace the one thats kicking around at the moment.
Defiant Level 50s Im not sure what was on the link as it doesnt work anymore, but if its feasible Ill happily host it and it can be linked from here.
Defiant Hero of the Month- Something new where people can have a hero on show. A new hero each month. A template will be provided.
Defiant Channels - Details of channels and how to join them. (A bit of duplication of whats in the new player bit, but I thought it was worth it.)
---
Id love some ideas and thoughts from people if they have the time (via here, or PM or email (found on my personal web site) if you dont want to be public about it). Im happy to do the work etc. and get it all organised. While Im a busy man if its done correctly this shouldnt take up too much time.
Questions: Should I do this? Are there good reasons why this shouldnt be done? Is there a better way? Will this mean too many stickys (six)? Do we want to do anything different with the Level 50 list? Does anyone have a copy of the old one? Should we have a featured SG base of the month as well (might be an issue if raids start up again)? Is stickys spelt stickys or stickies?
