  2. I'm not even looking at the gametrailers site. After the first round of comments I decided it wasn't worth the headache. I'm waiting 'til the finalists are announced to set my foot in there again.
  3. Okay, for easier reference, here's an annotated screenshot showing the location of the 10 joints (remember the 11th is the model itself).

    Something to keep in mind: don't assume that something that works in one side of the model will work in the other. If you change joint 8 (right forearm) to 767, it rotates clockwise pointing down; but if you change joint 6 (left forearm) to 767 rotates it clockwise... pointing up. You need the value 255 so the left forearm points down.

    I'll try to create a program to manipulate those joints easier, but no promises. I really, really hate trigonometry.
  4. Quinch, the range is 0-1023, with 511 being the "neutral" location, and 255 = 90°. All joints at 511 is this default pose; set the leg to 255 (90°) and you get this; set the upper leg to 255 and you get this, set BOTH to 255 and you get this. I'm trying to find some software on the web that allows the animation of skeletons and exporting each joint data, hopefully I can find one that's not expensive and allows the range of values for the angles to be defined.

    The number could be milliseconds counting from midnight, either server time or local time, or the uptime of the server. They don't seem to match my own system's uptime nor my local time.

    EntRagdoll takes four parameters. Three numbers, and a long string.

    The first number, I'm pretty sure is the number of bones in the skeleton. Why? Because if we assume each bone takes Pitch, Yaw, and Roll, and that this model has 11 bones, then the long string with hex values should have 33 values. And it does!

    What about the second and third numbers? Not a clue. Probably a time index; the numbers increase with each line, and substracting the second number from the first returns a value around 1000, which would suggest ragdoll information being recorded every second. But that's really just a guess.

  12. Scuzzbopper is going to hate me. A lot. I looked at slightly over 500 models that are not listed in the Codex today; and after removing the ones that are clearly testing models (though I did leave TWO with the word "test" in them because they're just too awesome) I ended up with 433 models. I'm not going to list them all because some of them look like they could be spoilers, but that's still a lot of things to add to the Codex. I'll decide if some of the things that may be spoilers aren't spoilers after all once I get some sleep.     Thug_Motorcycle_Test / Mastermind thug motorcycle! Spawns with an animation, may be possible to get rid of it somehow. Ends up on the floor, some PYR manipulation may make it useable if nothing else works.

    Also: Rikti_Dropship_Stationary appears to be a clone of rikti_shuttle; probably used in that one mission we had in the i11 beta where we had to destroy it. Something funny happens if you try to place Rikti_dropship: a very basic concept model zooms through the screen very fast. I managed to grab this screenshot of it.

  14. I haven't really looked into it, but I intend to. Looks to me like gradually changing the value of just one byte and seeing what happens to the model is the way to go.
  15. I stopped updating it after NCsoft announced the in-game ads because I thought there was a conflict of interest there (splasher changing the billboards vs. NCsoft putting ads there). But since its been months and we've only had one ingame ad that didn't last long, I probably should get around to posting an update. I just need to get in the programming mood for it.

    The only reason that Splasher can't change those emblems (with the published version anyway, I did use Splasher to create that file) is that I feel nervous about adding costume pieces to it. I can't really place why, but the idea of having someone running around the game with a character that doesn't look to him like it looks to someone else feels wrongish.

    Well, that, and I can see someone creating a nude mod in 30 seconds, and I'd rather not see Splasher used for that.

    3) This supergroup emblem will change to this. Changing the SG colors, it will look like this.
