is there a badge for that?

how many times do I have to smake or be smaked? Can you Ouro the Smake?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, to smake or not to smake, that is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to endure the slings and arrows of outrageous smaking

Or to take arms against a sea of smakers.

And by opposing them? To die... perchance to smake.

Qr - hold on. Do the 'venturites', as I've just rather heavy-handedly dubbed them, think Doctor Who is crap?

    That's not cricket.

*waits for Talen_Lee to flip out for being lumped in with Venture*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lol. 'Doctor Who and the Venturites' isn't that far from an actual Classic Who title.

But you can see how shocked I was at the thought of me beloved Who being dissed by intelligent chaps like Venture and Talen-I forgot to sign off!

Doctor Who can't really help it, it's suffering from being an incredibly long running TV series. Continuity errors are more or less inevitable at that point.

No. THE coolest bug was in i14 BETA when Arcanville found one that when you killed two Malta Titians in the MA you would merge into the the Zeus Titian!

    Or something like that.

    *summons Arcanville*

    [/ QUOTE ]
    That's not an animation bug
  4. As for me, I have a zombie MM who can get into Cimerora. If I'm on around that time and remember, I could head down there and give a hand.
  5. I was just playing my level 50 Katana/Super Reflexes Scrapper, I was fighting Lt. Sefu Tendaji in Gaussian's arc. I go to use the lotus drops, and... it played the whirlwind animation.

It was the coolest. Thing. Ever.

I wish I was freakin' demorecording it. Seriously, my jaw dropped. I don't know why on earth it would have played the whirlwind animation, but it did, and it looked freaking AWESOME.

If we ever do get to customize our animations, please, for the love of god, let me use the whirlwind animation for the lotus drops. That was just too cool.

So they can have their name attached to a good game?

Usually bashing on *cough* that other game *cough* gets an eye roll from me, but that made me chuckle a bit.

  8. The thing with custom enemies, is that you can have them have a mastermind power AND another power. So they could be Ninjas/Katana, if you wanted to keep a sword theme.

There's no really good way to make your enemies be tons of people. Best way to make what you're thinking of happen, is to make every available boss/patrol/ambush/defeat object spawn location to spawn a boss detail, and set the spawn difficulty to hard, and set every available rescue/defend object/escort location to be a non-required defendable object, and also set the spawn difficulty to be hard on that as well. As soon as the player aggros a defend object spawn, it will spawn an ambush. Setting them to be non-required would make it so the players wouldn't fail the mission if they happen to get destroyed. The purpose of the defendable objects is for the ambushes.

Beyond that, you can assign 3 ambush details to the mission. You could have those spawn when the players get the main bad guy to 3/4 of his life. I would suggest the main badguys be elite bosses if you're looking to challenge a team of 3 scrappers. Hell, maybe even an archvillain. I've duoed AVs with my scrapper and a blaster before, so I mean, you're going to have to try pretty hard to make a single enemy challenging for 3 scrappers.
  9. Alright. What you're asking for is pretty easy to do, actually. If you want to give your scrappers a challenge, then there are a couple things you can do. First, you can make all the enemies LTs or higher by using custom groups. Or, you can set your custom enemies to have hard hitting attacks.

If you want there to be a veritable horde of enemies, you can give your custom enemies mastermind powers, meaning that they'll summon pets. The best one to use for tons of enemies is the thugs powerset, as they can get gang war.

In order to make your mission auto-sk, you'll have to put in a standard enemy of some kind of the level range you want, as a boss, ambush, or ally, anything really, as long as they're in the mission as a detail and not part of the custom group with your custom enemies it will set the level range.

Just be sure to say in your mission's description that the mission is designed to be a challenge, and that anyone playing it should be very cautious about attempting it.

  13. [ QUOTE ]
Put optional boss encounters in your mission. You'll want to do this anyway, since most players will solo your arcs and won't get to see your custom bosses otherwise.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Bosses do not normally spawn for solo characters, regardless of difficulty setting.
  14. Welcome back.

*hands Missi a gun* You're going to need this. It's crazy out there.

That's positive thinking, Obsidian. Yes, you ARE part of everybody.

    Hey, I am, too. :O

I am a bit concerned that you and Obsidian are a part of me, apparently.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no possible way that the Automatons are powered by steam, based on Maxwell Christopher's first mission where you go to an old pre-war Nemesis owned business that has been completely abandoned, and find Nemesis Automatons still there and functional. They're likely powered by some sort of battery that either lasts for an extremely long period, or is rechargeable.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But maybe the battery is recharged by a machine that runs on steam.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It could be, but it probably isn't. The office building would have been abandoned for at least 2 years. The batteries in all likelihood just have incredibly long lifespans.

  18. I've noticed that in battle spawns, one side has more enemies and higher ranks in it's spawn than the other. Unfortunately, your battles were skewed towards whoever was in the slot that spawns the most.

    mmmmk

    [/ QUOTE ]

No I consider hopping into a thread with no positive criticism and making remarks towards the "quiality" of the thread whining. Has nothing to do with agreeing with me (and 99.99% of the reast of the people posting here I might add). So please see: my first comment.

    OH!

    *runs to get LaberJebus*

heh. that's the "half dozen" players I was thinking of.

Is that a fat joke? It's a fat joke, isn't it. I'll have you know that you could snap me in half like a twig.

The only things that are for sure powered by steam are the guns, the Warhulks, the Jaegers, the Fake Nemeses, and the Nemesis Staves.

[/ QUOTE ]Merely everything of his we've been able to analyse. I can't imagine how people find a trend there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
His mind control network build into railroad tracks was actually described as being made of high tech alloys and circuitry. Nothing anachronistic about that. The steam thing to me just seems like a style choice on the part of Nemesis, him being an eccentric genius and all.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
On the other hand, he apparently has a steam-powered weather controlling device and a steam-powered force field and phase tech, so what the [censored] ever.

The thing is, the canon says that these things do exist.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nope. Canon never says that he has a steam powered weather controlling device, and it's only implied that his forcefields are powered by steam.

This is my main problem with this thread, everyone assumes that everything Nemesis does is steam related. The only things that are for sure powered by steam are the guns, the Warhulks, the Jaegers, the Fake Nemeses, and the Nemesis Staves. Nemesis Staves being powered by steam kind of pushes it for me, but one could assume that the steam is being generated by something other than water and/or an incredibly hot burning fuel that would be able to get the job done with a smaller amount, making it more compact.

I'm just going to continue to employ Occam's Razor when trying to rationalize how Nemesis' technology works. If it doesn't seem plausible that it is powered by steam, it's probably not powered by steam unless it's stated specifically that it is. Just because the guy never left the Victorian era of style, doesn't mean his technology hasn't.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I think I found it. Here.

"The Nemesis Staff generates immense power, though, like all Nemesis' creations, it is based on steam technology."

Which goes back to my Flanderization/RunningTheAsylum theory.

    [edit]More here.

"Most engineers would agree that steam technology is hopelessly out of date, but not Nemesis. Truly, it is amazing how he has adapted such an old technology to modern warfare."

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nah, the Nemesis Staff has always had a description similar to that, and I remember the guns specifically being steam powered being from before I6.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Of course, I'm probably just missing some arc where some idiotic contact exclaims with wide eyed fervor, "Nemesis is teh steamiest!"

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not entirely sure where exactly I read that Nemesis Rifles are powered by steam, but I'm rather certain they are.

However, I'm in total agreement with you that people's assumption of how much of his stuff is steam related is way off base.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Hell I dont even know how to tell what I rated something offhand.

I just wanted to be certain my buddy and I aren't accidentally 0 starring arcs.

It would make me feel as low as a snake's belly in a wagon rut.

Rut rut....thats a fun word....rrrrrut rut rut rut rut.....rrrrrut rut rut.

    Thanks folks.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can tell what you rated something by searching for that arc again. Make sure the Not Voted option is off. When you click the arc to read its description and such, it will have a check mark next to it to show that you have completed it, and it will also show what you rated it.
