  1. Hi everyone,

So after looking around a while for a current SG, trolling and lurking on forums and generally doing my home work I have to ask the Virtue forum community at large.

"What are the 5 points you look for in an SG / VG?"
    • 1: Heavy RP - How do I define Heavy RP? Someone always on and RP'ing either in the base or on the channel, weekly RP plot lines which one is able though not required to get into, and ongoing weekly Forum rp. Always IC unless in brackets, and an evolving focal storyline which holds the group together.
    • 2: Active! - People chatting on the SG channel consistently and always teams, Strike and Task Forces, Raiding and even PVP going on consisting of SG members.
    • 3: Events - I am an event-aholic! I love get togethers, meetings, parties. I have always had in my past SG's very large and well attended Server wide events so I would love to be in a group that is involved with the health and entertainment of the server.
    • 4: Is run by competent no nonsense but laid back individuals
    • 5: NO DRAMA!

So tell me, what are your Top 5?

    Much Love
    ~Lady C

  3. rives up in her new 1968 Pontiac Firebird and after wiping it down lovingly with a very soft rag she leans against the side with arms crossed and a grin on her face.:

Ok I got stuck in a line of classic cars this morning making their way to a car show and at the head of the Pack was this sweet little beauty. Its really no wonder I gave this car to my main Rose Maiden as her preferred mode of transportation. Can you say cherry or what?

Any who good mornin Rooksters! Whats your all time favorite classic car?

  5. You know what Mousy your right, I am picky. However I am not above manning up and putting my money where my mouth is. I've decided to instead of whining about not having an SG that fits my criteria, I'll just make one instead.

Thanks to all for helping me, and I hope to see you all in game soon.

    Cheers!

  7. Ok ok ok... 8 new dance emotes but thats my final offer!
  8. 3 inf and a wakie! that is as high as I can go...my lowbie really needs that wakie you know
  9. This will be the first pack I will not be buying, there are so many other things we needed dance emotes is not one of them and sorry to say this Back Alley Brawler but its not worth $8, $4.99 maybe but not $8 for just a hand full of emotes. But then the other packs are barely worth $9.99. This will be yet another situation where the consumer is being over charged for content that should have come with the game, because am I the only one who thinks that this should have been in GR to begin with? Just sayin'.

I see Heavy groups Advertise in the D a few times a night during my shows.

Medium to me is RP is always around, but we don't require you to be constantly IC, or some members of our coalition aren't RP groups.

A solid, well rounded SG that is going to last will have many different aspects, so that they can draw in the most amount of people into their group, be able to fund a good base, and maybe even throw parties and be active in teh community overall. This is why I did recommend American Legion and Hero Dawn. I know AL does have a lot of RPers in it, and same with Hero Dawn. Both are large active groups, HD I know has been around for over 2 years with the same Leader of the group. AL has been around for around 2 years. Both are very active SGs.

If I were you, I would actually talk to some of the groups, if you haven't, to actually see what they are like. Heck, Even ask them what they recommend for a Heavy RP group. You might be surprised on the help they would give.

I will check out the HD and AL Sheck, thanks for reminding me, I'm not sure if I want to put Rose into an SG but I have a few new characters I love playing and would like the chance to develop their personalities more in a friendly group RP setting.

    Thanks!

  12. ((Great post mind, very well thought out, I''m glad you stepped up for the challenge! Its not as easy at it first seems to give your character some "Blue Booking" down time, most people get caught up in the action and drama to remember that without "ordinary" one can not have "extraordinary" ))
  13. Ok so it seems that those groups which are holding steady are not in the middle of a change of guard and are active are only "medium" to "rp friendly". I'm sorry if I've over looked someone but I'm kind of discouraged by this, as it was my real hope to find an active heavy rp group with low aggro score. :/
  14. Hiya Tiger!

I'm just counting down to Halloween its my favorite time of the year ^^
  15. I really dont mind the whole SG costume thing if its just representing the colors, but admittedly the big points I'm trying to find is activity and heavy rp and no drama. I've noticed alot of SG's on the list are in the middle of "changing the guard" so either some one in the infrastructure has quit or what I dont know but I'm hesitant to join a group that isn't well established and doesn't have all their chickens in a row.

  16. Mornin' Folks!

Thought I'd open up since no one else did, Hot wings, Hot Salsa, and Hot Devil Chicks on the Menu today, right up there with charred steak a Cuban cigar and a nice malt whiskey for yours truly.

What are the simple things in life which your character enjoys?

She woke up with the dawn, her long dark lashes at rest upon her peach like cheeks, the suns warmth through the large front windows of her boudoir as it shone upon the silken expanse of her smooth back seemed to wring from her semiconscious form a sigh of contented laziness. She had been working laboriously in her lab alone on many a night recently, forgetting to eat or drink and it was only when dragged from her work to attend social functions that she even saw the light of day, but today she had decided to take some time away from her lab to enjoy a peaceful day at home.

She had been plugging away with all the usual relentlessness that she normally put into crime fighting into her lab work recently and into fighting in the warzone. Something about this research had taken hold of her in mind, body and spirit, she was closing in on the secret and this was proven in her focused precision strikes against the Rikti. Each Sunday like a requiem she would finally ascend from her perch in that secret lab hidden deep beneath her garage, she would drape her string of onyx rosary beads through her fingers and whispering feint prayers between ruby lips she would take communion at her local catholic church before she would descend into the warzone wreaking bloody mayhem and leaving only destruction in her wake.

With each trip Serena returned a little different, somewhat changed. Be it from the days in the relentless sun which beat down on her in the War Zone, her lack of sleep or normal nourishment these changes where so subtle as to be missed by most and truth be told they where shrugged off by Serena herself. The light complexion which had always been a bit on the olive side due to time working late shift at the hospital was now a dark tan which always seemed to blush with color, as if her blood constantly beat at the surface.

Her body had changed, become more defined from face to feet allowing her already flush hot house beauty to become more exotic and almost native looking, the angles of her face distinct as if drawn with the attentive hand of a great artist. Even her dark blue sapphire eyes to had changed, a strange indigo radiated out from the center and some said that when she fought against the Rikti these same eyes pierced her foes fixing them in a strange dazed expression as if she where another being completely holding them in stupefied senselessness she would then with her bare hands, rip them apart like so many rag dolls. While Serena did not encourage violence when it came to her ongoing battle with the deformed race of alien invaders, all bets where off.

All of these things seemed to react and awaken in Serena as she arose drinking up the sun, and as her eyes looked upon the flowers left by her bedside a hand picked bouquet of dark red roses, she lay a finger upon their softness before sitting up and wrapping the sheet about her stretching her sore and tired muscles like a luxuriant cat and tilting her face to her window with a smile and with a song in her heart she began getting ready for her morning run.

The apartment was still quiet, to early for Pearl to begin getting ready for school, the early suns rays fall across the spill of school books which where piled high on the dinning room table, where they had left them the night before when they had gone over a lesson in Pearls advanced biology class late the prior evening. Serena made her way through the apartment stepping only on the balls of her feet like a cat she descended the curving spiral staircase which separated her bedchamber from the rest of the apartment below. Stepping lightly taking quiet care not to disrupt the slumbering peacefulness of the house as she made her way to check on Lizzy who resided on the floor below.

Opening the richly carved silver double doors of art deco design, Serena pokes her head into the white and pink palace which she had recently redecorated for her friend. The ankle deep thick rugs where scattered with clothes, heart shaped chocolate boxes and romance books, the massive walk in closet which took up more space than the Kitchen and living rooms combined had its doors standing wide open and looked as if tornado Lizzy had hit sometime in the middle of the night as negligee’s and cocktail dresses seemed to have exploded outward from its source. The antique fainting couch of plush white satin had a stethoscope and a light pink mink boa tossed over the side while a glass of half drunk sparkling pink champagne sat perched precariously on the edge of the vanity where scattered upon its surface where tubes of lipsticks and crystal containers of Lizzy’s more expensive perfumes.

Serena only smiled at the common sight of her friends’ chaos, and tiptoeing in she picked up the clothing disaster, the stethoscope, books, chocolates and champagne and dumping half her load into the hamper, and setting the champagne, books and chocolates at the sleepers bedside, Serena sits down on the large round bed her eyes trailing over the vases of white and light pink roses received by the sleeper who is tumbled among the pillows and comforting quilts the angelic vision of her life long friend Elizabeth White.

Smoothing a lock of blond hair from Lizzy’s face Serena smiles indulgently at her friend who murmurs something in her sleep between bubblegum pink lips before Serena leans down and kisses her forehead and then with one last smile she stands up, closing the thick damask drapes allowing Lizzy the freedom to sleep in a little bit longer than Serena did that morning.

She had much to do that day; she had promised Pearl to take her to the aquarium where she had read about the arrival of the new Portuguese man of war would be making its first appearance. She and Lizzy where going to go shopping at the new boutique in Talos Island where Serena could pick up a new dress for her date that evening and Lizzy could clean out the rest of her bank account on shoes. And later on that day Serena would be spending the rest of her time until eight o’clock cooking and getting ready for her picnic with Eric. She had planned the menu perfectly after asking him his favorite foods and she had decided that the light fare of Rose infused spiked Horchata what the Mayans had called “Nectar of the gods” a thick vanilla drink spiked with rum, her Grandmothers Boston Iced Tea, Serena’s own special Mystic chicken wings, extra spicy, a small watermelon salad and for desert dark chocolate fudge brownies with M&M’s and a simple Baklava would hopefully entice him to change his mind about chicken nuggets.

Making her way back out of the now much tidier room, Seri closes the double doors behind her and after quickly dressing in her usual running uniform of small shorts and a white tank top with a red lion stitched over the left breast, she slips into her favorite sneakers, bending low to tie her laces while slipping her MP3 player into its holder high on her bicep. Piling long black hair the color of a ravens wing high atop her head in a tight ponytail which swings with the sway of her hips she descends the stairs of her apartment building locking up the world behind her and stepping out into the sun she greeted another perfect day.

Other weaknesses are that I'm picky and lazy.

I'm picky so I don't want to just stand around in the D and pretend to drink - that kind of roleplaying quickly gets boring to me because it resembles nothing so much as a reality show on TV, or possibly a soap opera with superheroes. You'd never know they were superheroes though because they hardly ever use any superpowers or do anything heroic.

I very much prefer roleplaying while doing missions, or at least engaging in some kind of game activity, where our characters can shine in a truly superheroic (or supervillainous) fashion. I'm however also too lazy to organize such events myself.
I hear you on the drinking point, I wish there where other areas in the game without spawns that your character could go to hand out, like an aquarium, or Botanical Garden, Maybe a Cafe or restaurant. I know not everyone roleplays but really its the small stuff which makes a game setting from a drab lifeless grindhole to a living breathing world.
  20. I was really hoping for a response from those in the know, I also figure if a Community Active SG is out there they would be on the forums daily getting the pulse of the community and would answer my post, but I'll continue looking through the directory. I'm really just looking for Heavy RP SG, anything less is kind of a moot point, but thanks so far for all the kind advice!
  21. Man now I'm disappointed I thought this was a discussion about my favorite book as a child by Madeline L'Engle "An Appropriate Time" : pouts:
  22. Hi folks,

Well it was just a matter of time, you come back from a hiatus, you say to yourself "Nah I have my own base and friends to rp with I dont need an SG" but then you see someone else having fun in their SG and you begin to think "well maybe, if I can find one that is worth it, and fits my criteria". So here I am listing my criteria and asking for some help in pointing me in the right direction.

1: Heavy RP (This is a must!) - However that is to say not really downer "OMG the worlds going to end!" emo rp but rather just that there is always RP going on.

2: Active! (Also a must) - People chatting on the SG channel consistently and always teams going on consisting of SG members.

3: Events - I am an event-aholic! I love get togethers, meetings, parties. This isn't a deal breaker but I would love to be in a group that is involved with the health and entertainment of the server.

4: Doesn't require me to use up one of my costume slots for a badly designed SG outfit. - Yes I know thats shallow but I like my wardrobe thank you!

5: Is run by competent individuals - I dont want to be seen as just another prestige ***** or get stuck in someones harem.

6: NO DRAMA! - This probably should have been number one on this list but you know I consider it a given.

So what do you say virtue is there anything like this that is actually around?

    Cheers!

  23. My favorite Shakespearean Quotes (because I am not copy pasting the whole of Mercutio's Queen Mab Speech)

    True, I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy.

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind.

I have a similar problem (?) I rp as if I where directing a movie, not necessarily writing a book. I love visual clues and often times my characters say nothing at all but interact purely through expressions or body language because I become to immersed in how they are reacting in context to the situation and their feelings at the time that I over look what they are saying.

The most amazing rp scene I've been apart of visually was my character and another running from an exploding volcano in NWN's very cinematic and very awesome with a huge BOOM at the end. I felt like Bruce Willis it was great!
