  1. I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. I'm in pretty much the same boat but I mostly play hero side. I've tried the whole "conversation insertion in the D" thing and found 2 main problems with that

    a) The particular character I'm on really isn't into inserting herself into conversation
    or
    b) The group is NOT into RPing outside of their lil clique
    or
    c) The vast amount of conversations are about something so utterly ridiculous, you spend your time going WTF!?!?!

I've managed to find a couple good homes for 2 of my characters but sadly, the SGs are quiet unless it's SG night. (caveat, I've actually taken a couple weeks off from the game and am just coming back so this MIGHT have changed).

I'm dying for some consistent mature RP. I can't say that I RP well while teaming, unless the team is steamrolling stuff and I don't have to worry about saving someone's a**

I and my characters have been pretty burned by people I've known for years and had storylines with just up and disappearing or turning into jackasses. As is stands, I've had to remake like 3 characters and am sitting on 1 who's utterly destroyed and I dunno what to do with her.

I'm willing to entertain concepts or start a new one with those of you out there who love RP as much as I do.

With all due respect to the Golden Age Heroes, I found their "requirements" to be a tad too stringent and elitest for my tastes. I desire a good group, an OPEN group, because you don't know if a person's good at RP till you RP WITH THEM.

I don't godmod (I hate those too). I like to think I'm a solid RPer. Otherwise, I wouldnt have been at this for as long as I have lol.

Anyway, my global is @Tanklet. I have a variety of characters. I'm always interested in getthing them involved in plots. It helps develop their own content. FFRP, ya never know what happens.

    Send me a tell sometime!

Unless you've left behind an ambitious leadership (or have ambitious elements in your general membership, in the case of the SS), one that is willing to reinvent the group, one who has even an ounce of the presence as the previous figurehead, it's not going to work because, sheesh, running a successful RP SG/VG is freakin' hard work.

And not everyone is willing to do that.

  3. The PK is a group that not one person can manage. Even Grae had leaders working with him to keep things running smooth. There was a structure there that just isn't anymore.

Not one person can pick up and lead the Knights unless he/she has no life outside of CoH. It saddens me, the prospect of seeing them go. But I applaud the tough decision it had to have been.

The PK has been around 7 years .. it's a legacy ... it's an era and deserves respect, even in its end.

I hope nobody was unduly offended by my fortune cookies, they were there for fun. It sounded to me as if they entertained a few people at least.
Those were done by YOU!?!? OMG they were SOOOO funny!!! I was entertained LOL

The biggest problem with that is budget. I don't forsee them being able to consistently do both.

My preference would be 2 con years then a travel year ... I'm a fan of the cons myself (I was chanting too) .. even though I come from the east coast.
  7. I'm not a fan of the slap upside the head/face of CM either ...
  8. Name: The Invictus Foundation

Currently Recruiting: Yes we are recruiting. Also, we're always interested in other players/SGs to weave storylines with as well as general RP

RP Level: RP-Heavy SG (I think that lends to self explanation)

PvP Level: We generally do NOT PvP, though we're not against it. Our most frequent use of PvP has been through RPvP arena events specifically tied to a storyline.

Theme/Concept: The Invictus Foundation is a Research & Development Organization first and foremost. We use our knowledge, skills and technology to aide in advancing and protecting Paragon City. Projects range from magical study & the arcane, to laboratory science, computer technology, machine technology, mutation study/enhancements, physical training studies, archeology and more.

Through our work in these areas, The Invictus Foundation has earned a reputation of trust with the various law enforcement agencies and communities. It's this reputation that calls us when there are people in need or trouble arises in our back yard.

Activity: This varies ... we have players on the east coast, west coast and some in between. Prime time is generally from 7PM - 11PM eastern. But again, this varies by day of the week as well. We have a core group of about 7-10 players and a variety of alts.

Requirements for Membership: Your character must fit in with the theme (which is broad enough). RPers only please! We also have an SG forums and it's asked that /all/ members access them regularly

Leadership: Daria St. Claire, Jet Falcon, Tempest Fist, Artemis's Siren, Deus Ex

    In-Game Contact(s): @Tanklet, @Scrapperlock, @Crimson Ultimate, @Kissa-Kick, @Sunajus

    URL: http://invictusfoundation.com/index.php

Coalition(s): The Dawn Academy - Daria St. Claire teaches here part time. Her daughter is also a student. For those two reasons and for training the new generation, The Invictus Foundation has taken part in helping watch over TDA.
Fennec Enterprises - Daria St. Claire is part shareholder in the software company that also serves as a private face supergroup.
  9. So, I was searching through this myself and got to thinking ... some of the original posts date back to August. So maybe it's time to update this thread Hopefully the Red Names make this one a sticky too

I copied everything template wise from the last one. Here goes!

Simply quote the template below and fill it in for your supergroup. Some of the sections listed might not pertain to every group, so feel free to delete those. I'm working off the time-tested template Grae Knight *salutes* graciously provided last time around

Don't stop because others don't? Right, so you're saying I shouldn't stop smoking crystal meth because other people don't smoke crystal meth? Nice logic there, genius.

75% of all roleplayers suck at roleplaying, this is fact. If you are so easily entertained by trivial, boring crap, then maybe you should go play World of Warcraft.
... and maybe someone needs to take their midol ....
