I actually thought of a response if someone "asked" me instead of me asking them to do art. On DCUO before beta, it was all about the concept, and I found that really fed my creative juices, so much that I consider last summer to be the best work I've done to date.

But this is COH.

And I would like to apply that passion to the place I love most. It's very different to be told what to do by the collector, not that I hate money. Just that I find, of late, that creating for me, about someone's character " I " am excited about, is more inspiring, and thus the results are better.

I'm still NOT here to solicit commissions. I hate deadlines, and I'm not about to feel guilty again for keeping someone waiting on a long list. No, I just want to have fun with LJ, in a game I've forgotten how to play almost, and occasionally do some art to keep my Photoshop skills fresh. I draw in vector all day, it's not something I prefer to do... so this for me is a getaway, a reward to myself...

If someone asks, I'll most likely say no. Just as I would say no, if someone asks for a freebie. Been down that road too, and it led to a list of 50 people waiting, and I made too many promises I had to break due to being burnt out.

So, long explanation over... I am the Anti-Caemgen!

OMG, alas that would interfere with my regular Video Conference D&D game, so not happening. My Friday 11pm - 3am time-slots are officially taken... and even if that were not the case, I have forgotten so many things, I am actually thinking of starting from scratch, that Electric Melee looks hot!

Thanks Powerstream. The blue layer is what I call a "mood layer". You tend to paint differently if you don't use white for a background. Also the character is not my design, but for a friend on DCUO the Source... so the color combos were his choosing. Actually LJ had these exact colors when she first started, even those sunglasses... I guess it's been popular since Alpha Flight.

For the costume I used the illustration done for the owner by another artist, and his COH screenshot. For the torso, which was part of the reason I did this because I wanted to work on doing abs better, that was found on DA. Finally the backgrounds were based on stills from Superman Returns. All in all about 8 hours work, between yesterday and today.

I am tired now... off to try something new.
