I can't agree with you about Batman Begins, I found that very contrived. Which to me is what Hollywood tends to do with all comic book movies, they only see the face value, they know nothing about the back story and if they do they pick it apart and serve it to us like we're caged chickens waiting to peck a kernel.

I can hear the pitch now "yeah so we'll put in the Ninja school, only we won't call it that, and we'll throw in the fact that his company already has the batmobile and his armor waiting for him, oh and yeah let's get Dawson's girlfriend in there, cause these young kids will recognize her..."

Bale was better than I thought he'd be, but that movie was for fans willing to let a lot of details just be thrown in their lap. Look at the proposed sequel, "Heath Ledger" is going to play the Joker, somebody gag me... Yeah I know he can act and all, but he's eye candy and nothing more. I hope I'm wrong, I hope it's better than the first one...

Really? I liked the updated action, the older movies are so use to giving us long shots, because up close they'd look horrible. I thought the plane sequence was worth admission, or in my case the price of the DVD.
