Awww you guys are the best... I was checking all morning, and thought Kheldarn the Birthday Thread Brute forgot me. I plan to party hard in NYC tomorrow, well after 8 hours of traveling... don't ask, crossing the Canadian border in Detroit is like going through East Germany...

That dude is about to get stung, I mean shanked... congrats!

In the end I prefer my own. I basically take one of Jack's pencil pieces, ink a small portion of it, convert it into an Illustrator brush, and that allows me to change the length, direction and color of it as I put it down on screen.
I've made about 5 of these, but the 2 I used last night helped to make part of the background. I just have to include them now on my master list of brushes, which is annoying, but worth doing. I do plan on making some more, like for rocks, and soft shadows... will post up examples when I use them.
I think I will redraw my 3 Forumites piece with this new look... while I'm still motivated to use it. I suffer from Style Schizophrenia...
Here's the adjusted TA piece, now as a mock comic page:

WHOA! Nice... you ARE getting better! Has an almost Gene Colan vibe to me colored... I love it! And btw yer very welcome...
Quote:A little something different this time.
One of my toons, Sandstorm Goatster.
The way he looks in game.
Lady Judgement was kind anuff to do a black and white pic for me this time. Thxs again to LJ for the gift art! That was the first gift art anyone has given me that wasn't from my SG. I really like what she did with it.
Sandstorm Goatster: Black & White by Lady Judgement.
I hope I do LJ proud with the colors.

Sokay, I've drawn City of Nuts versions of him as well... though that's pretty disturbing.

Quote:Absolutely, and I'm the same way... I've been downloading stuff of his all day, it's like finding gold.It is worth mentioning, germane to the discussion, that Kirby-style really goes beyond the mere use of the Kirby Krackle/Dots. Kirby had a very distinctive way of drawing anatomy, armor, and machinery that is still pretty unique in comic art. I never really appreciated his stuff until I got older but now I can't get enough of it.

Actually, THERE ya go... free download by Inker Extraordinaire, Brian Denham or Danerot of DA fame. His Kirby Krackles brush, makes doing Jack Kirby a breeze...
I've actually made 3 of my own based on Jack's inks, well Joe Sinott's, but it's the same thing. Allows you all those wonderful dots, with a single stroke on the tablet.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Now for Photoshop fans, courtesy of Pascal-Verhoef of DA (a Brian convert like me), click here.

Amy: when you say Kirby in this forum, we always mean Jack King Kirby... but that was pretty funny.

Quote:The funny thing is I have been sick as a dog for 6 days straight (same head cold from hell that laid out my two friends 2 weeks ago, they gave it to me, and I'm gonna give it back to them - muahahahahaha), and done more work then when I was healthy! It got to a point where even my wife said I should be sick more... Not sure I can compete with CR, I'll happily allow him to keep the title!LJ - another cool piece of art! You're on quite the productive roll of late! Heck, if you tried perhaps you could match CR's 40 in 60.
Lord Goat@ yer welcome, I'm tempted to turn the bent leg into a straight one, and give him that classic wide stance, but I like the movement in this one... sorry about the big Jack Kirby feet... lolol -

K... I think I'll go with your first choice... (off to ink this up)

Awesome stuff Commander, that Back Alley Brawler of yours begs to be drawn...

Quote:I think I can fit in both on a one time basis... would you like a drawing of your main? Send me a screenshot... And tell Twizded, I'll hijack something from his gallery very soon...Not at all, Twizdedsoul is way above my skill lvl, I'm just having fun and sharing it. I could almost bet he'd jump at the offer to work togather. I'll point him this way and let you two at least chat a lil about it. No harm in that =)
On the other hand, if you ever would like to share a pic to be color'ed, I'd love to try. -
Ah thanks, well I realize now, I shouldn't bust in on a thing you two have going... you're HIS colorist, and yer coming along, so I will humbly step back and enjoy the stuff you guys are putting out. Keep up the good work!
