It's a very small issue, probably more than stable enough for a Friday launch after this much testing. What I am wondering is whether or not the booster goes live with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
This would be ok if most of the things that explode after issues go live were the new stuff. -

Honestly, if I need control on a team or TF, I will LOVE to have a earth every time. And a well played Earth is hard to put a price on.

I have solo'd a few trollers to 50 and I hate to break it to you, but Illus is the bee's knees pre-32 for a solo or duo player. Yes it lacks the controller-ish feel of aoe goodies, but it makes up for it to the solo'r in big big ways. SI to get around easier, Phantom Army, Deceive is a great hold (when viewed as one vise a xp stealer), did I mention Phantom Army?
I would suggest illus/rad or Illus/Kin both rock solo.
All that being said, I have not had any issues soloing non Illus, Fire/therm was a ton of fun and Ice/Kin was ok.
Just me 2 cents. Enjoy. -
I may need to roll a Arch, but I am confused how Sonic and Elec are missed but Arch goes in??

What resolution are you running in windows and what resolution for CoH? I am concerned the X300 will have a tough time with 1680x1050. Also, try playing with the anti-aliasing in the 3D settings, 4x or less I would say or even off.
Have you tried windowed mode yet?
Random ramblings while at work...might help. -

Like rad defenders who run AWAY from the group when low on health to heal themselves selfishly, controllers who just mash their buttons without properly timing things, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am fine with defs and blasters stepping out of line of site to heal up......what scares the hell out of me is when the rad leaves on toggle debuffs and watches the anchor run off to aggro the rest of the map.
By all means rest lol -

Sorry, but Targeting Drone dosen't fit Weapon Mastery.

Whoa whoa whoa....where do you get off bringing logic into this discussion?! -

I'd like to know if anyone else playing CoH/CoV has had similar problems with "luck."

After trimming down the block o' text to the actual feedback your looking for....
No, I have not. And I don't recommend a vacation to Vegas for you. -

*classic* tanking is keeping squishies safe with taunt.
[/ QUOTE ]Classic Tanking is gaining and maintaining the aggro of a mob and surviving it. Taunt itself is completely optional.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, it was a generalization to say taunt, I should have been more specific, thanks. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think brutes have gauntlet. I seem to be forever chasing after foes when I play them.
I do agree with you though I think Brutes are better tankers, mm's are closer to controllers than tankers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Brutes do have some taunt in some attacks, and this was a strange direction to take since they clearly are not tanks but heavy scrappers. -
I have a few 50s of each and honestly its about which build and who is playing it. *classic* tanking is keeping squishies safe with taunt. MM tanking is absorbing the alpha while applying debuffs then turning offensive.
I have a MM build that tanks better than any of my brutes, but that being said I don't have a stone, most are WP. That particular MM is thugs/traps, so I actually *can* play the roll of tank, debuff and damage.
The lack of taunt is the defining problem for sure if that is the goal....but really on a decent enough team, just having someone who can take the alphas is where the worth really is.
edit: started to clean up grammer but the Sangria has sunk in, so be it. heh. -

a shuriken and caltrops are WAY lower tech than something that explodes and is designed to lock someone in place...
If it was a smoke bomb, I'd agree, but the concept of web grenade really isn't ninja esq.
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on what you think Ninjas are. Ninjas employ tricks, weapons, stealth. Web Grenade could be devised and used by a martial artist as could Caltrops and Shurikens. Targeting Drone doesn't fit the roleplay theme of the other powers in Weapon Mastery, it was just available to be plugged in. One day it should be addressed in some fashion.
[/ QUOTE ]
You do realize that Weapons Mastery wasn't designed for those that wanted to make a Ninja, right? It was designed as a thematic ancillary pool for the blade using power sets. It has nothing to do with ninjas or any specific character concept (which you seem to be operating under the incorrect assumption of). All of the ancillaries were designed to be vague thematic counterpoints to the existing sets. Scrappers had DM, the blades, and MA when the APPs were added. Dark for dark, Weapon for the blade sets, and Body for MA. Complaining about the Targeting Drone because you don't think it works for ninjas is like complaining about the Laser Beam Eyes and Energy Torrent in Body Mastery. None of them fit specifically with their root power set, but that doesn't mean you have to take it or that the animation/effect is bad.
If anything, a modern ninja would leap at the chance to use higher level technology than what they had available in the medieval era simply because they used whatever tools they had available. They would never handicap themselves by only using tools from a specific era.
I really think that you need to remove your head from your rectum and figure out that the APPs don't exist to make your concept complete. If you don't like how it looks, you don't have to take it.
(Also, they're not going to take up one of the 8 remaining costume option slots for a single power effect that you don't like. They've got better things to use them for. If you don't know what this means, you need to learn more about the problems with power customization before you start trying to make a fuss about it.)

I wonder if the first ninja using caltrops got razzed for it....his buddies told him REAL ninja still use polished rocks and sturdy sticks. -

One could argue shurikens, smoke bombs, caltrops, nets and the like were the weapons technology of their "day". I look around Paragon and I see cars and trams and skyscrapers....maybe *my* ninja of this modern age would be smart enough to employ modern technology to aid in my quest for spreading good.....even with a silly drone someone crafted for me to help. -
