We have how many slots left to unlock? We may very well be seeing TD again before it is over (if we didn't kill him).

Quote:If you don't need them right now put them up for sale for a high price and but a bid on them for about half or 3/4ths that.I save what I know I'll need in future and sell extraneous ones. The problem is that everyone wants the same bits, so those go for a million each. There's no point in selling the 3 or 4 I have because I need them too. On the rare occasion I manage to get, say, an extra Luck Charm, it goes on the market. But those times are few and far between, because you need Luck Charms for essential IOs. Almost no one makes Intangibility or Interrupt IOs, so the salvage used there goes unwanted. But Luck Charm, Masterwork Weapon, Inert Gas and Demonic Blood Sample are used for the more popular IOs like Accuracy, Damage and Range.
It goes back to my issue earlier in the thread, namely that IOs and salvage are "either/or" in terms of desirability. Either the IOs are going for tens or hundreds of million of Inf, or they go for zero. There's almost no middle ground. Same with salvage. It's either 300 grand a pop or there are 1,426 of them sitting there for sale.
You'll find a lot of times you manage to buy a cheap replacement and sell for a profit.
If they swap before you need it you can dot his over again untill you do. -
Quote:Well, if they failed as a subscription before the point where LTS was passed by monthly subs then the game failed despite of LTS not because of.I imagine it's horrible because he's the only one who can understand how you proved his point...
If say a game about fantasy boogey men fighting elves and midgets was released with a LTS about the same as 13 or 14 months and was forced to change at about 40 month mark to remain profitable it could be argued there was a loss in long term funds which accelerated the change.
I don't see a change in business model as proof of a failing just of proof of a potentially more profitable market. To prove a failing you would need to show a reported loss over time with no plateau. -
Quote:How is proving your point horrible?Forgetting for a moment NCSoft's policy of not naming, talking about directly, or conversing about other games using their proper-names, short people who drop rings is a horrible example for you to use, and proves my point.
SPWDR had to change their base business model. Yes, SPWDR has made that business model work. They offer a good quality product with relatively low entry costs compared to other games in the same genre that is saturated with competitors, one of the few places where going Free-to-Play can offer a market advantage.
They still failed at their original subscription model. Life-Time Subscriptions were still a very bad business move. -

Quote:Yeah adding the option to unlock the slot for a reward for any TF/SF/arc/whatever where you fight a fully powered incarnate would be awesome. It seems perfectly logical to me that someone who goes to the future and smacks down LR would have the well open up the path in hopes of getting an even more powerful puppet.Just to be absolutely clear: I am not asking for the arc to be removed. I'm only asking for the end of TF/SF/Trials/Hamidon Raid reward tables to be put back in place.
This way if someone values the lore more can do the arc. However if the player wants to unlock the Alpha Slot another way, they would have the OPTION to do so.
How long does it take to smack down hami? -
Quote:No, they've already got enough people hooked to play monthly LTS seems to work best as a way to quick infuse cash, we should be invested in more renewable funding options.I was just thinking about this today, and as odd as it may sound, I think that for this game, I WOULD get a life-time subscription offer. It's proven itself to be pretty reliable, though I think as a business plan, the $15/month works better than a short-term investment for NC Soft.
You guys think they should offer one? Would you guys buy into it? And, no, I don't think this game should ever go free-to-play. -
Quote:The pieces parts have enough lore in the in game descriptions already, however the ability to use incarnate gifts would need more backing if you value the lore so this argument just seems false to me.They didn't have to be unique. As far as linked to the Incarnate lore, that too is a failed argument due to the Incarnate Component rewards at the end of most of those tasks.
- If there is enough lore attached to those tasks to provide Incarnate Components, then there is enough lore attached to unlock the ability as well.
- If there isn't enough lore attached to unlock the ability, then the Incarnate rewards should be removed from those tasks.
That being said I don't see hwy any task that has you besting a full powered incarnate couldn't cause the well to open up to you, what better proof you have more strength and will then beating down someone who already has been boosted above your supposed level. -

Quote:I don't think you have the qualifications or data required to make judgments on other players emotional affairs.I did not lump together the game's myriad players with their diverse playstyles. I simply pointed out that *some* people try to get their characters from Level 1 to Level 50 in the shortest amount of time and that such people often do not understand the intricacies of playing such a character (unless they have played that AT with that specific primary/secondary power set before), they pose a potential danger to team mates, and generally do not have much emotional attachment to the character.

Quote:Kinda makes you wonder what the suicide rate would be in the Isles.Personally, I don't think there is any way to stabilize the two sides without completely scrapping the Rogue Isles and doing away with the whole "Arachnos stooge" concept. When you're a villain, surrounded by villains, in a land run by villains, there's not much point to being a villain.

It's a bit early to complain about the arc being old unless you got really into testing it in beta.
Although I'm pretty sure history is against me on this one we cans till hope that other paths will open in the future. Even if they are all mission arcs it would give us a choice of how we want tog et there and a fall back if we get worn out of our preferred path. -
A failure of "red side economy" would be a large indicator that something was wrong with villians. A continual movement to blue side would make villain only content more difficult to play. The sides must be relatively stabilized or the game must be fully opened.

Quote:I tend to act more like 16 myself...but I can see where mob mentality would further reduce this.Over my nearly 20 years of online gaming I've found the emotional age of the average participant to be much closer to two than four.

Quote:That's funny cause if my four year old gets told to stop doing something and he does it the next day he's well aware of why he is in trouble (I like to ask first to make sure he's aware). To draw an unflattering but accurate comparison:
If my two year old does something wrong but I wait an hour to correct the behavior, not only will my efforts be futile but he'll look at me like I'm a crazy *******, and he'll be totally justified.
We got told from release not to abuse AE or bad things will happen to us why are we all in shock and awe when weeks later we are doing it and we get our hands smacked?
If anyone gets banned or rerolled over this it'll be the 2nd time we've sene it...we should not be surprised at all. If anything we should be expecting it by now. -
Quote:Wait, who are we talking about? That, as I recall was pretty close, except he had all the fat bunched together.
Quote:The same righteous arguments were made for everything that could be classified as a farm for seven years now, when you could herd a map of wolves into a dumpster you were a dirty cheat mocking the game rules even though you were using the games own mechanics.
Now since this was patched out early int he game we have also established the development team is against exploiting.
So where is you moral high ground for blatant exploitation of the game rules years after the precedent has been set? -
Well since it's alr...oh you edited...hrmmm

Quote:I define "right way" as not exploiting hacks. Farmers, marketeers, and PvPers who don't trash talk can do what they like I have no reason to care.BI's right on the money with this one.
There are plenty of sanctimonious types around here who'd love nothing more than seeing anyone who doesn't play 'the right way' (defined as THEIR way) get the axe.
Now if your view is that people who openly mock the game rules are just "playing a diffrent way"?
