I personally find it ridiculous that Super Leap is faster than Fly. How can someone hop up and down faster from point A to point B than someone flying in a straight line? Sad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Physics my boy! The hopping person need only get a greater horizontal velocity than the flying guy. Granted this would require much more work but it is physically possible. Perhaps people who fly are just lazy?

I head into a timed Vahz mission solo, and nearly get a hospital trip again on the first mob. I head for the entrance and double-check my difficulty settings. I’m still on Heroic! It’s like my defenses aren’t working at all today.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Vahz are just unusually tough. They do a LOT of damage. It's even tough with resists cause you don't get much resists to toxic damage.
  3. Is there a way to change costumes with a bind? I tried to find it in the list but couldn't find it. Would I have to type that on my own?
  4. Hey Unknown_Hero,

I just started reading this earlier today during some time i was waiting for Adware and virus checks to finish and I just couln't stop reading till I was pulled away.

You have a talent for developing characters and spinning a tale that could entice anyone into listening for hours on end (which I did).

So far I am up to The Pain of Team Legacy: The Deadly Kill Strike (Part 2) and I am loving it. I hope to finish what you have so far tomorrow.

I liked the references to Ruroni Kenshin throughout, because that is one of my personal favorite anime shows (right after Full Metal Alchemist) so kudos to you on that.

I'd kill to have your abilities to write (well not really kill but you get the point). Well, I'll tell ya what I think tomorrow after I finish reading the remainder of what you have written so far, In the meantime keep up the good work, and I hope you continue this for a long time.
  5. Hey all, I was curious if I could get some opinions on my tankers origin, I took some time recently to write it and weave it into Paragon City history so I'd like to see if anyone has suggestions for it. Please feel free to say anything about it, I'm open criticisms and suggestions, and want to know if there are any inconsistancies with the history of the cities history that I could correct. Thanks and here we go.

    The King of Blades

The King of Blades was once the ruler and protector of a glorious advanced society. His double-bladed axe was crafted from solid diamond sharpened to a microscopic razor edge. Having lived for many millennia because of his mutant powers, he has mastered combat with this extraordinary weapon.

This isn’t the King of Blades greatest ability, however. The King of Blades greatest ability lies in his natural mutation that makes him nearly invulnerable. It is because of this power that he has lived many times longer than any other human being alive and yet shows no sign of injury or of injury.

As the rest of society trailed behind his in technological advancement, his kingdom decided to isolate itself from the rest of humanity. Creating cloaking technology and mastering the power of force fields; they were able to mask themselves from detection, even from infrared detectors and satellite imagery. They had succeeded in hiding themselves from the rest of humanity.

Although they succeeded in hiding from the rest of humanity, King of Blades citizens failed to anticipate the intervention of the Rikti during the Rikti wars. After isolating themselves from humanity, their society had no need of military armaments and therefore spent no time attempting to create them. When the alien Rikti, who were as technologically advanced as they were, discovered their society and breeched their walls, they had no weapons they could use to defend themselves.

Despite the efforts of their immortal King, the weapons of the Rikti obliterated this great society. The King of Blades fought the Rikti until he was buried under the remnants of what had been the glorious city hall of his city.

The King of Blades emerged from the rubble an hour later to find that the Rikti had disappeared as quickly as they had come. Surrounded by the remains of his faithful citizens, the great King scoured the city looking for any sign of survivors; his powerful legs propelling him in great leaps in his futile attempts.

After the realization that no one else had survived the attack, the King of Blades left his once glorious city in search of the aliens who had destroyed those he had loved. In the first town he came to, he discovered that the Rikti were focusing their attacks on the now most advanced city in the world, Paragon City, Rhode Island.

When the King of Blades made his way to the City of Heroes, he learned of Dr. Science’s plan for a counter-attack on the Rikti invaders. Joining the ranks of Alpha Team, the King of Blades became determined to prevent the Rikti from repeating the massacre they had accomplished on his people.

Positioning himself at the frontal ranks of the strike, King of Blades joined the rest of the tank like heroes as they held the Rikti forces away from the others who did not posses the defensive powers they were blessed with. Slowly, however, the Rikti began to break through the line formed by the defensive juggernauts and make their way toward the others behind them. Soon, the King began to lose sight of the other heroes and Rikti invaders soon surrounded him.

Although they had more firepower with increased numbers, the Rikti were forced into a smaller group as more and more gathered around the King of Blades. By doing this, they made it became easier for him to take out large hordes of Rikti with each stroke of his axe.

After what seemed like an eternity of fighting, the Rikti forces suddenly began to retreat despite their distinct advantage over the remaining heroes. Their frantic actions showed Alpha Team that Omega Team had successfully infiltrated the Rikti base and were on their way to take the war to the Rikti’s home.

Soon, the battlefield was deserted except for the few heroes of Alpha Team who had survived and the hundreds of hero corpses that covered the ground. After hours of waiting in anticipation, news finally reached them that Omega Team had succeeded in destroying the Rikti’s power generators.

The news brought a mix of relief and sorrow as the people of Paragon City celebrated the success of Omega Team and also mourned for those who lost their lives in battle. Even with his participation in the battle, King of Blades remains an unknown among the citizens of Paragon City.

With no home to return to, King of Blades has decided to remain in Paragon City and help its citizens rebuild. To this day he fights off the numerous villains that plague the glorious city of Paragon and continues to hunt down the remaining Rikti who were stranded after the wars.

FYI - I'm a HUGE kaiju fan (giant monsters).

I collect all the figs, the theatrical posters, etc.

I've got Godzillas from the past two movies all around my office. And a Godzilla: Final Wars mousepad (theatre only).

    [/ QUOTE ]

States, I am now your all time biggest fan. Godzilla movies rule, I have all of them up to godzilla 2000. Soon I will have them all.

Quick question. Where did you get the Final Wars mouse pad. That sounds so awesome.
  7. My Christmas wishlist in Paragon

    1) Fight Santa Claws (not a typo)
    2) Giant Chrismas Tree
    3) Ice
    4) Snow
    5) Group of Hellions and Skulls walking door to door singing Christmas Carols

Something that's important to note is that the tactics you use as a DDD change drastically as you level.

In the early levels (1-16), you will be a blaster with a sizeable heal whose only drawback is that it needs to hit an enemy. You can be the main healer in a team if you're fighting whites or below. You may never use Darkest Night or Shadowfall except in certain situations (DN against bosses and AVs, SF against...well, Clockwork at that level). Your biggest concern is endurance drain -- you run dry quickly, and you should be going for stamina as soon as possible.

At these early levels, the best tactic is to lay down a Tar Pit (if you have it), then start a fight with Moonbeam, then keep cycling your blasts and heal when necessary. Very simple...as long as you have endurance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ok, i am a level 11 dark defender and so this is the only part that I can justly disagree with because i don't do that and i do just fine.

I do use tar patch because it kickes butt, however i do not use moonbeam and i don't attack much. I have recently obtained dark pit, which i use to disorient. i then target around the center and use darkest night. (i always have darkest night on) On occation i use my rez if it is ever needed, but it usually isnt because no one is geting killed. Lather rinse repeat.

works pretty well for me so far.
